It's taken me all day to get caught up to everything...fridays are my mondays...terrible. And every other week it's paying bills bills bills. I don't read much Pinside when I'm at home.
very cool, am assuming there will be a clear plastic panel infront of the dmd for protection but will this cover have a taper to one side or the other to aid in draining the ball to a side/s?
will the ball be static in the lower playfield or drop from the top playfield?

Yes,a cover for the dmd.
There will be an actual ball traveling to the under playfield and back up.
Inbetween the 2 flippers will be a hole for the ball drain, connected to a subway..
This thing is gonna be superweird, you can feel it in the atmosphere over here.
We are in the zone with this pin.

Very interesting project. One thought, why limit the lower pf with such a small size? If ball going down, and coming back up, additional mechs could be mounted on the lower pf. Think of Black Hole.
Good luck, will follow.

Small? That thing looks just as big if not bigger than Black Hole's to me... wonder what the actual size difference is.
The window size is similar. Black Holes lower pf is over twice that size. I have one and get a pic. The entire surface is not used in play, but supports mechs that are out of view.
