We were playing with bottle rockets in a dry field next to some train tracks. We didn’t realize we had lit a section on fire. We heard the Canadian pacific railway police coming ran and tried hiding at a friend’s house. When they pulled up, we ran again but it was too late we were caught and fined for it...

    Quoted from northerndude:

I confess its spring here in Saskatchewan finally and will be summer soon, and I don't give a shit about pinball right now that it's golf season. But I have to keep coming to pinside every day, because if I leave this place too long, there's no fuckin' way i'm rooting through 1000+ posts in the Rick and Morty thread to try to catch up on things.

Our golf courses are closed! So pinball is all I have!

    Quoted from LTG:

I always wondered about my ex. Late in the marriage I met her for lunch one day. Now she was a bad cook. She started making food for me to take to work. Usually potatoes and meat and put it in a tupper ware style box.
Now I really loved my wife. And appreciated she was doing something for me. A rarity. But what she made wasn't edible. So at work I'd toss it out and make my own food.
This went on for maybe 3/4ths of a year. At lunch that day she asked me what I did with the food she made me. I'd never lie to my wife, just not volunteer stuff. I told her I threw it out everyday. I loved her and didn't want to hurt her feelings.
Now when we were first married, I went to work one day and about four hours later got so sick I had trouble shutting the business down so I could leave. I couldn't even set the alarm. I was really messed up, I shouldn't have drove home. It must have been food poisoning. She came home and saw me and called her godmother in Ukraine and was yelling and crying, I couldn't speak enough Russian to know what was going on.
So after the divorce I was thinking one day. And I thought back to that lunch when she asked my what I did with the food she made. Why would she ask me like that. How did she know I wasn't eating it ? I always wonder if I was supposed to be getting sick or something over time and maybe worse ?
No way to know now. I wish I would have suspected something and run one of the meals to a lab to see if there was anything bad in it.

I confess I hardly know a quarter of the things about Pinball that people on this forum do. Some times I get a little creeped out by the way they talk about the designers and companies. Also I still only know a few of the abbreviations that people talk about(JJP, LOTR) but I press like anyways.

Confess that i haven't been as exited about a piece of furniture for a long time.
My new double story snake enclosure came yesti.
Think walk in shower cubicle. 2m (~6'8") x 1m (~3'4") x 600mm (2'). Removable shelf in the middle to separate it into two tanks.
All custom built to my own design and drawings.
Just have to wire it and furnish it over the next few days.
Bit of a step up for the two Centralian Pythons.

Spent all yesterday afternoon till bed time drinking beer and staring at it, figuring out how to get heat and light in there safely.

You should some Eyelash Vipers! That is the perfect enclosure for them!

    #3869 2 years ago
    Quoted from punkin:

I don't know why anyone would keep venomous snakes as a companion. My guys get out for exercise pretty much everyday, i give them to children to hold and to people who are scared of snakes. They are my constant mates.

I’ve had both. Eyelash Vipers are one of the most Beautiful snakes out there to me!
I find people scared of snakes tend to be way rougher on them. I didn’t let many touch or play with them.
If you set up the right plants (orchids, bromeliads, ferns) an enclosure with those gems can be outright perfect.

    Happy Holiday Weekend!

    Hi Johnnypinball007!

I agree with you fully this is a great place to come read posts. The confessional is one of the better topics.

I try to stay on the positive side of pinside. It can truly brighten up my day.

I would suggest you take the time to watch “Holey Moley” it is pretty funny.

Yes, some of the longer posts can be quite interesting to read. I confess sometimes I don’t have the time to read them, but I do try to skim them for the basic subject.

Most years we have fireworks shows in Windsor/Detroit both cities celebrate together with freedom festivals, we haven’t had them since COVID, but I’m truly looking forward to having them once again.

Happy Canada Day/ 4Th of July!

I confess one of my fantasies is leaving my wife at a rest stop in the middle of no where USA, cuz she’s in the bathroom to long working on her hair. I have told her this so she knows when it happens.

I confess I was 20 years old. I took a girl on a first and last date, we decided to go for a walk around a pier in Leamington(45minute drive form Windsor). The drive was unbearable, the walk was worse. We were both smokers, she wanted a pop and she was out of smokes. I stopped at a convenience store, sent her in, watched her walk into the store and drove home. It felt great at the time but I still almost feel guilty.

Red Lobster in Windsor is pretty good. Really expensive for what you get. They have the best biscuits! We go at least twice a year. We really enjoy Olive Garden in Michigan! If you go the braised beef is tge best! I always order two portions… one to eat there and one for home! We don’t have Olive Garden in Windsor anymore unfortunately…

I’m glad you lived to make this post! I confess I think I would wake up dead talking to my wife like that! Lol

    #4945 2 years ago
    Quoted from Jason_Jehosaphat:

I guess I know this fact well. A color display, anti-glare glass, or tasteful, custom armor are perhaps the only exceptions.

That's a tough one. I have just one machine and I tend to be ready to rotate it out after six months or less.

That's a dispiriting list for sure. I think I can do you one better on a per-machine basis though:
    HS - $300
    BSD - $700
    TWD PRO - $900
    MET PROmium - $2K
    IMDN Premium - $400
    TWD Premium - $800

I've never sold a pin for a profit. I've been "collecting" for five years, although I don't know that owning just one pin at a time is truly collecting. Buying/selling pins is frustrating. When I'm the seller, the prospective buyer is sure my game justifies a steep discount. When I'm buying, the prospective seller is sure his game is worth top dollar.
    Thanks for your response.

I tend to sell most things cheaper than I purchased it. I don’t really take it as a loss. I try to determine how much I’ve enjoyed the product, how often my family has enjoyed it, how long I’ve owned it, and how much I would have spent on it using at a location or rented it.

    [quoted image]

Did you cook them in one of your buckets punkin? Lol

    #4951 2 years ago
    Quoted from punkin:

    Bucket of vegie oil, yes.
Buckets are handier than you think, besides carrying all sorts of things, you can turn them upside down and use them for a seat, to capture wildlife, distill water with a solar still, and even make a helmet out of them.
Best helmet is if you make one with a kid and then as soon as he puts it on, test it to make sure it's working. A sound, repeated thumping with a stick or wooden spoon usually gets a response.
    Don'tKnockTheBucketPunkin

You will enjoy the ribs they are pretty good you should do the wings as well. At one of our pool halls they used to serve them in little buckets!

I confess I just saw someone as a “pinside+ frequent pinsider” or something like that. Must be some new enhancements to the site recently? I looked on the general maintenance side of the forums and didn’t see anything. Course I could have overlooked.

It is the version that allows you to sell.

    #5198 2 years ago
    Quoted from Jaybird815:

No, anyone can sell, I just did yesterday

I tried to sell with a basic and couldn’t without purchasing the Pinsider+. I might not have done it properly?

There was a bug with the game selection drop down menu yesterday. It should be fixed now.
Pinside+ is not required for posting an ad in the marketplace.

I confess I was a Croupier at Casino Windsor for 19 years. There were only two games that were fun to deal, Craps and Baccarat. The rest were terrible you spend your night taking money and getting blamed for it.

    #5326 2 years ago
    Quoted from EJS:

What are some of the strangest things you’ve seen with craps?
I confess one of my best nights at craps I was sitting at a blackjack table…hear me out…
It was Monday night of Memorial Day at 11:30 PM and the Burger King inside the casino was about to close…a lot of people had left because the holiday weekend was over and I also had to work the next morning. I hadn’t had dinner yet and figured I better eat while I can because it’s an hour and 45 minutes to drive home. Dice aren’t legal in MN so it’s WI or IA
Anyway the table is doing decent and I probably have $30 to $50 across all but whatever the point is. So I say hey I’m going to grab some food and ask if I can bring it to the table. I’ve never seen food allowed at a craps table and this was no exception. However they did allow me to sit at the adjacent blackjack table really close by which was closed for the night so I could at least interact with my friend and the rest of the table…only 3 more people playing since it’s so late on a “Sunday” night.
When I get back I have to go right to the blackjack table because I have food. I look over and see a semi tidy stack of chips waiting for me with an off button from the numbers that came in. Seven was rolled at some point as I notice my numbers are down.
So I start eating at the blackjack table and things are going pretty good. Since I’m not there I can’t place any pass line bet since that would require me to handle my chips. But the boss looks over at me while playing with my stack of chips on the felt and says…oh since this is sitting here do you want any numbers?
With a mouth full of chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers I’m like “okahhhh” and piddle a little food onto my sweater. I wave a 1 back and forth in my hand since I couldn’t speak well with food in my mouth. He throws down 1 unit across each number including the point since I couldn’t touch my own chips at the table. He looks at me for my nod of approval which I did (For those of you who don’t know you can technically be playing the game while you are away from the table and anything won is accumulated and kept in possession by a dealer until you return)
I keep eating and numbers keep coming in. They look at me wondering if I want to do anything else. When a number came in I gave them the thumbs up followed by sticking 1 finger up. Apparently we are making up craps sign language as we go. (anyone want to guess what I was telling him?)
I finished eating but was getting tired and was very comfortable in my blackjack seat. They kept stacking more for me as if I wasn’t there but still looked at me. I kept giving them the same thumbs up every once in awhile.
I think I ended up sitting in that chair for about an hour and a half and they called it the last shooter before shutting down for the night. I think I crawled into bed just after 3:00 in the morning.
I confess I typed this all on my phone.

I have way too many stories!
The most amount I’ve given and taken in one night was a VIP. He won $500 000 over about 6.5 hours then lost in in half an hour. Didn’t tip us once while he was winning. Yes, we absolutely want you to win we get paid more in tips than wages. I used to tell people I work for whoever pays us more! Lol! I’ve met a ton of celebrities doing that job. Most were pretty awesome and fun. Some were just looking to be left alone to enjoy a night out. I felt bad for them because they were spoken to ALL NIGHT by passers by, asking for pictures and autographs. I fully understand why some actually lose their cool on people. It’s usually the 30th person that asks that gets the gruff no.
The betting you were doing was called “call betting” we only allowed VIP players or players with special needs to do those.

    #5327 2 years ago
    Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:

Confess those 3 words, "case of beer" always sparks my attention, but what really caught my attention was monopoly.
About 30 years ago I gambled a lot, and I always thought the ultimate would be to play Monopoly with real money.
Talking about real money, $15,140.00, (in the older version games).
Now that I am older, and I never gamble, you can probably guess the 2 words I have now for Monopoly with real money.
    (Hell No!)
Confess 35 years ago about every Friday night I would get in a card game around 8pm, and be back home around 8am Saturday morning.
I won some, I lost some, and it was fun. But it was a big waste of time, and those nights ended when I really started working all the time, so that later in life I would not have to work all the time.
Anyway now there is no way I would put up my share of 15 grand for a real money Monopoly game.
Confess though a 4 player game of Monopoly with a $20 buy in and the winner get $50, 2nd place $20, and 3rd place $10 would spark my interest for some cheap fun if I had the time.
BUT! I still would love to play some double 12's dominos for say 10 cents a point. (sounds cheap enough, but very possible to lose 50 bucks real quick even at a dime a point).
I have never gambled with dominos, but I always wanted to.(12's only, 6's bore me).
Confess my girlfriend, and a ex girlfriend said they loved dominos, and I said HELL YEAH!
BUT! Then they started this weird Spanish Train crap, HELL NO!
(I guess there are many ways to play dominos, but to me the only true way is scoring in multiples of 5, all other ways SUCK!)
Confess I grew tired of card games a very long time ago, but I never grew tired of dominos.
If anyone here is in to that, hit me up! (and no, we do not have to play for money, I will even teach you the tricks I know for free).
Just like in a deck of cards Aces and Kings are good to have, well in dominos certain blocks are good to have.
(for example at the start of the game you hope you do not draw the 12/12, but you hope you do draw the 12/11, because if the other person drew the 12/12, then you can play and make a quick 35 points).
Sorry for another long and boring rant.
    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

A group of us used to get together and play one a month or so but when we started having kids it came to an end.
We would play dominoes and plan our SCUBA trips(mostly the Great Lakes). I loved play Never played for money though. Mostly just to hang out. We play double sixes. Not twelves can’t really count that high. Lol!

    #5335 2 years ago
    Quoted from LTG:

On a row all games are hooked to one and then hooked to a control room inside the casino. Where odds can be changed up or down.
Watch Youtube how Vegas does it. I would imagine they all do.
Somebody killing it at high stakes, the slots make up the difference.
    LTG : )

Each machine is set differently. If the payoff rate is 85% only one machine is set that way. The machine changes on a regular basis. The way they work is taught to us. It is like a bag of marbles. 1000 marbles are white. 1 is black and a big payout. 3 are red and medium payouts. You put them all into the bag and shake it up. Put your hand in the bag pull one out. If it’s white it’s a loser. Put it back in the bag and shake it up again. Pull a marble, and you keep going until your money is gone.
You are right though the best way to see how payouts go. Look at the floor, tons of slots, lots of blackjack, the better the payout they put less of those games on the floor.

    Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:

I have one and I love it! Just something fun to mess with every now and then.
Pinball is the BEST! But variety is also AWESOME!
Anyway, my girlfriend has done gone nuts.
She thinks I spend a bunch of time here because I must be talking to women.
I am like um, no, not any women here I know of.
She wanted to see all of my pm's. And then when she did not find anything she said I must have deleted some.
Um, no, I have never deleted any pm's, and some are from members that are deceased now.
Confess last night I got very tired of hearing: "12 times now anytime I walked in the room you hit some button to quickly get back out of whatever you were reading".
Um, I was finished reading that, and I clicked out to go read something else.
She is very AWESOME! And she only lives 1/8 of a mile away.
Confess if she lived 30 miles away and was complaining for no reason about my time on here I would be like see ya bye.
Confess I am very easy going, it is rare I ever complain about anything, but recently she complained we were having dinner too late, so I started getting dinner ready earlier on my cooking days, and she is always late, and on days she cooks, she is way later than me.
Her Mom is a real bitch and complains about everything, but still no excuse to bring that here.
I hope all of you have a AWESOME WEEK!

My Girlfriend does the same! Exactly the same! What girls are you talking to? You must be since you are on there so much! I usually just hand her my phone! Lol
I confess it has gotten me in trouble… I’ve been trying to buy a Stranger Things, Amazing Spider-Man and a Spider-Man VE. We fight over that almost every time she gets the phone! It’s my money until we move in I make my own decisions! She doesn’t feel the same!

2 for me. TWD and SMVE.
(The Walking Dead pro, and Spider Man vault edition).
Confess like everyone else I love to just use the 2-5 letters for a game, but when someone else does that I hate it, takes me forever to figure out what those letters stand for.
Anyway, I have only watched one episode of TWD, and that was after I bought the game, and I care less about the show or the theme, but I love this game, and the callouts are ok also.
TWD is the last game I would ever sell.
SMVE was a fun game, we miss it, but the callouts got on my nerves way too bad.

I confess I still don’t know most of the 2-5 letters for Games. I really don’t want to learn them. I used to care but that went away.

    Quoted from punkin:

Confess i don't know the procedure for adding a game to the pinside list. Not even who to ask about it.
I'm in the process of purchasing a Sunset Riders machine. Its a retheme of a bally Eight Ball. EPIC pinball made a few of them and they are stunning. They are listed on ipdb and i wanted to add it to my collection here but it's not on pinside list.

Quoted from RCA1:I confess that I think a new thread that just got deleted by the mods had the potential for some great humor.
But it also had the potential to go way off the rails.
So I get why it was deleted. But still sad.

Which one? There are a few that should be deleted.

    #5440 2 years ago

There are a few pretty petty ones out there. I do my best to stay away from them. There are a lot of great positive threads. There are also quite a few that are there for online trolls.

    Quoted from punkin:

Ditched out of one this morning that i thought had value until a few brought their petty shit into it.
I figured that was the one, but it's still showing in the list.

    #5476 2 years ago

I confess I’ve done my first down vote! I’m so tired of these Rainbow bullies attacking peoples choices in color on their machines. How bored can you be to sit and troll people and create a bullying forum?

    #5481 2 years ago

You were the first that I down voted. I’m tired of people attacking others because they like color in their game! The group of you are outright saying “do what we say or be made fun of by our group! Conform to OUR standards or get out of OUR hobby! I enjoy this hobby I enjoy most people in this hobby! Bullying me over my choices aren’t going to make me leave! My machine is in your pictures that are attacked for being different. It is a comic book based pinball machine! It’s supposed to be loud! My other pins have white LED installed.

    Quoted from transprtr4u:

not bored .... shame to see a great game trashed do to poor color choice . why bother to wash out the art with purple or blue lights ?
not my game so doesn't bother me ! Just sad for the game!
not bullying just stated my opinion as you have stated yours!
oh and by the way I do color match inserts just never use them in GI
please feel free to have me as your second downvote !

    #5482 2 years ago

Yes, I know I’m in there with my Superman Machine! Along with quite a bit of trolling form little boys that would NEVER speak to me in real life that way!

    Quoted from jesperpark:

I confess I laughed when you called one of the nicest guys on Pinside a "Rainbow Bully". Don't go near the Rainbow puke club, it gets way worse there

    #5484 2 years ago
    Quoted from RCA1:

No one is telling you to get out of pinball. We're glad to have you, and everyone else here.
Criticizing your choice of colors is not "bullying". It's expressing an opinion. You have yours, other people have theirs.
    Reasonable people can disagree.

I agree that you can have your opinion! Your opinion does matter. But posting pictures of pinball machines to pick apart is just trolling! If they don’t like my choices that’s great! However putting me up on a forum just to embarrass me is not an opinion! Its being an a**hole!

    Stay safe!

    Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:

I am about to unplug the computer and everything else for the night.
I am under a severe storm warning and it is starting to get rough in a distance.
Confess long ago I wish I had of had some kind of whole house lightning protection thing installed so that I do not have to keep doing all of this unplugging when it storms.
Yeah, I am paranoid, but my neighbor lost all of his stuff 2 times in a short amount of time from lightning.
All the games are first to be unplugged, and then anything else that I would have to pay the plumber to take care of is next, and computer is last, so that I can goof off here for 2 more minutes.
(as far as the plumber stuff, I have a expensive electric pump for the restroom in the mancave).
If the weather gets very bad, and I will be without power for a while, I will send Jay a text so he can post back here.
(I have no clue how to use my phone on the internet, I only use my computer for that).
    Booming outside now, Goodnight!

They just opened the first CFA in Windsor. I don’t care for it much. My kids love it!

    Quoted from EJS:

I normally get the number 8 or 4 respectively. Meal numbers may vary and I know they change from time to time. I like the CFA wrap now.
The first time I had CFA I was in training for work and only got 2 hours of sleep the night before because my flight didn’t get in until 3am Monday because of a snow storm. Back then people in MN had no idea what CFA was.

There aren’t any restaurants that can make good steak. We have “The Keg” and I like to go to “Capital Grill” in Michigan. Home made steak can’t be beat!

    Quoted from punkin:

People in Australia still don't. Thankfully.
Confess it's so cheap, easy and tasty to make your own food at home. It's a gift to your family and friends and you can learn to cook better then most restaurants for a fraction of the price. Start growing your own food and it tastes better and is nearly free, plus you get to give vegie packs to all your visitors.
The only reason i don't cook more complex meals anymore is that i now live alone.

I confess I haven’t been in the hobby long enough to have an actual opinion. I believe it’s the group like myself that have always wanted a pinball machine/Arcade game that are getting into it because of COVID. Extra money from not going out drinking with our brothers. I do understand how the old school pinheads are quite upset at the price gouging going on. Your opinion is yours. As long as you aren’t trying to attack someone this feed is a great place to let it out. I try not to do long winded posts but I’ve had quite a bit of vodka tonight! Lol

    Quoted from PinFever:

Let me explain it for some that finds it tough to fathom. Spike games were always cheaper when the Real Machines were being produced . This is no longer a Machine but a Toy . Get it? A toy? Not as good components . Just look inside for yourself.
you can not admit you are over paying for Spike Homepins as if they were the real McKoy !

It is what it is people wake up ! JP the Pin 4500 GTFOH almost the same amount of Sheet the JP Pro has / Lol

You are right. It’s quite difficult to deal with as well. I tend to try to type converse with an individual to make it easier on that person. That makes it harder on me.

    Quoted from jesperpark:

Try living in Canada, we are taught to use both spellings, colour or color is correct. Funny thing is my auto correct doesn't like colour
Also we learned the metric system all the way through school, and basically throw it out the window for real world applications. Unless you're a cabinet maker, then it's all metric.

    #5703 2 years ago

    That is actually true! Lol

    #5767 2 years ago

Yes, I’ve been following a few restoration threads. I really want to do it. Just nervous. Didn’t realize I had 300 posts! That’s pretty great!

    Quoted from JayDee:

Well you have over 300 posts here, so there’s no doubt in my mind that you can find the info you need here. Whether it’s directly related to your machine or anything that is similar that directly relates to your machine, it’s here. And if it’s not, after using the search button (which nobody uses for some resaon), then you will get excellent feedback after starting a thread with your concern.

    #5769 2 years ago

Bally Bow and Arrow. Still want to see more restorations before I consider starting though. It works really well just looks pretty beat up.

    Quoted from EJS:

That reminds me I have an Atlantis sitting at my moms. I haven’t updated the thread in months. Hard to paint a cabinet when it’s -10 outside.
What are you thinking of restoring?

    #5771 2 years ago

I found the stencils but haven’t purchased them as of yet. I’m not going to do too much to it outside of painting it. I’d like to get the playfield done but not for a while. I think I am going to get the two games I want first. Stranger Things and Spider-Man VE (any Spider-Man really).

    Quoted from EJS:

That’s funny I think there is a guy on the west side of the cities who wanted one done but I had 3 other people ahead of him.
That one shouldn’t be too difficult. Looks like a fun game. I see it’s another Bally where they have one scoop with a bunch of inserts leading up to it.
My recent purchase is a Big Ben and they have extra wide drop targets I don’t think you can get anymore (2 of mine are busted) and the cabinet is painted white. Not looking forward to starting that one.

It’s one of the best shows that were on TV!

Quoted from EJS:I was reading the funny caption thread and thought I should confess something that might surprise a lot of you. I confess I've never actually watched The Office. I generally know what the characters look like but if you sent me a text-only quote from the show I probably wouldn't be able to identify it.

    #6080 2 years ago
    Quoted from swampfire:

It took some magic eraser to get it looking that good. I also had to pop out the big blue inserts and sand them flat. I was grumbling through the whole restoration because I just wanted to sell it. Too soon to know if it’s a keeper, but it’s a lot of fun right now.

Does the magic eraser work with swirl marks on the playfield without taking color?

I confess your confession make me picture you and LTG as “Grumpy old men” the movie! Still 2 of my all tim favourite movies!

    Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:

I confess a chain of events caused me to post a whole lot tonight:
    1. My girlfriend is out of town helping her Mom with some stuff.
    2. I am caught up on work stuff for now, but I will probably get slammed next week.
    3. My wrist needed a break from pinball, was painful trying to beat Jay's score, which I never did last night.
    4. A good excuse to keep typing and drinking more beer.
    5. When I am busy, I miss goofing off on here.
    6. LTG was having a crappy day, so trying to give him some smiles when he gets back to looking at posts.
    7. I type better the more beer I drink.
But I confess, the main reason I posted so much on Pinside today/tonight, is the fact that when I went to have a 4 hour afternoon nap, I had forgot to turn my phone off and I was woke up earlier than planned by my friend in India, that is still concerned about my car warranty.
I confess as I get older, my 3 favorite things are beer, naps, and fishing, in no particular order.

    #6118 2 years ago

Lol! I’m 6’3 260, I sit to play! Especially after a couple beer!
    I love the 1up stools!

Quoted from punkin:Got a young bloke started coming to comp who has watched too many podcasts. He gets his head down nearly to the level of the playfield and he's a good 6'er. Stands back a meter and a half.
Last week he turned up with headphones, said it helps him play better.
I'm expecting fingerless biker gloves this week.

I confess, I’m on Pinside ALL day and most of the night. It fills my day of waiting to meet up with contractors, fire inspectors and engineers. I find that most people are the same! Outside of the retirees, how is everyone else on like I am?

    #6142 2 years ago
    Quoted from EJS:

I check pinside mostly when I have a few minutes to kill spread all over the day. In this case I am said contractor haha.

Lol, I hope it’s not you I’m waiting for! I’ve been waiting half an hour now. If you are coming from MN it’s going to be a lot longer! Lol

    #6153 2 years ago

It’s a great hobby! I would have probably moved on after COVID as well, but Pinside is a great place to learn and hang out! It has forced me to “Finish” my basement the way I have always wanted it to look.

Quoted from Ryguy80:I confess I'm probably checking Pinside too much, but it gives me something to divert my attention while working from home. I suppose after a while I'll get bored and move onto something else. Being a newb owner, I can't offer much help to others for fixing their games and when my games are working fine, there's no help to be sought after.

You have a great week as well!

Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:That was about 3 years ago, and I was tempted to call, I just never did.
Now I just watch all of that more closely, and that has been working great.

On Friday nights the shows on were a whole lot better than the stuff during the day, and when the test pattern would come on, I was like damn it, why does this have to end now.
Confess I was always more of a night owl than a morning person, even before I started staying up late drinking beer.
I hope all of you have an AWESOME WEEK!

My sandwich maker lives in her own house. Still tries to control my house. Pretty successful at it.

Quoted from swampfire:Confess it’s been a crazy year for us so far, with 3 trips to the ER. The last one was wild: my wife was running in her socks to feed a feral cat that comes around sometimes. She slipped on the hardwood floor, landed on her wrist and fractured it. I confess my bladder has become quite the alarm clock in the last few years as well! Yes, property taxes are going to go even higher in the next little while. The market has become ridiculous that will change our MPAC in a major way!
I’ve cut down a pine tree solo, You can do it! I put some bricks around the stump and burned it out. It was a good night, we noticed that the ground was smoking we had lit the roots on fire somehow!
I confess I don’t know why anyone would downvote you for the government charging duty?! That’s not your fault, we all know shipping from country to country will cost us duty and taxes!
You have a great week as well!

    Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:

My bladder is my alarm clock.

I was already getting concerned with property taxes going so high, and now this gas price stuff has sealed the deal for me to save as much as I can on everything.
I have a pine tree at a rental house looking pretty bad and it needs to come down before it falls down, and instead of paying $600 to have it cut down and hauled off, I will pay $150 to have it cut down, and do the rest of the work myself. That will save $450 for me to just do another 12 hours of work, so HELL YEAH!
Most of the gripes here are about pinball prices and gas prices, but it is really mostly everything.
Long ago I got my first negative on eBay right after I had 10k positives. When I hit 25k positives I had 3 negatives. And all 3 negatives were from people in Canada that purchased rap CD's, complaining about what their customs charged them. WTF!
Confess back when I sold stuff on eBay I was not really fond of the Canadians.

I hope all of you are having a GREAT WEEK!

    #6345 2 years ago

I hope you tipped the security and bar tender well that day!

Quoted from prl867:One time at Bellagio, I was playing 2/5 NLHE and this drunk A-Hole sat next to me and proceeded to talk so much crap, he got thrown out.
He unknowingly dropped a $500 chip and two $100 chips.
I grabbed them and did not return them to the owner.
To this day, I feel a little guilty about it. It was like 4 years ago.

I enjoy soduku puzzles. I usually do a couple a day on the dunny! Half an hour is nothing I enjoy the peaceful quiet in there!

Quoted from punkin:Anyone here do brain exercises?
My ex used to keep crosswords and sudokus in the dunny. She'd be in there for half a fucking hour.
Myself i rely on conversation mainly, but play solitaire on the computer in the mornings for an hour or two while i wait for it to get light.
I like the daily challenges where you do 5 rounds of different solitaire games each day.
Mostly i play the Spider Solitaire though.

    #6377 2 years ago

That’s really not surprising. We had a pool hall near my house. I enjoyed going in there randomly. The pool league that reserved the tables were seldomly there. The waitresses would let us use them until the league came in. The one day they actually came in an flipped out that we were using the table. The manager came out and asked them to leave because they should be paying for the times they weren’t coming in. We just drank our beer ate our wings and watched.

Quoted from LTG:Tales from the counter for JohnnyPinball007
Around 1975 we had a group ask if they could reserve all five of our pool tables for one night a week from 7pm to 8pm. It was $2 an hour then for each pool table.
My Mother agreed to it. While being sure all the tables would be open that night, a Tuesday I think. Wasn't always fun.
As their league season wore on they started showing up a half hour or an hour earlier and staying a half hour later. And of course not paying for it. My Mother said to let it go, we could use the money.
Their last night I was working. They had a few not show up and only wanted to pay for four tables. I made them pay for the fifth table since they reserved it.
Their next season they went to a place north of here in Crystal. They weren't happy with that location.
So their next season they came in and talked to me about reserving five tables again for an hour on Tuesday nights.
I declined. I told them if they wanted to come in and shoot pool for the going rate, if I had any tables open, they were welcome to.
Never saw them again. Go figure.

I confess I’m playing my Millipede way more than my pins right now! Kind of feel guilty, they look jealous!

    #6435 2 years ago

I’ve never seen that game played! I’ve seen them set up like that but haven’t asked how to play or what it is.

Quoted from dirkdiggler:I confess. I've always wanted to try one of these cool marble balls in a game but think they would destroy it.
Also, this game has been on my parents coffee table for 30 years and I've never solved it. Got down to two a couple of times.

Are you talking about fish? I have had a few octopus. This one had just fought and are a crab. It’s name was Doc. Oc. Still have an active TONMO account.

I confess this cognac is kicking my butt! I am definitely not the pinball wizard tonight! It was still a blast!

    #6510 2 years ago

Lol! It always goes that way! We ran a football pool at the casino for years! Same thing!

Quoted from dirkdiggler:I worked at a company of about 300+ employees. Everyone filled out a $10 bracket. The 30k winner literally knew nothing about basketball. She picked teams on their team names. Meanwhile I spent a week crunching numbers and finished around 100.

    #6528 2 years ago

I confess I think this confession is hilarious! I also confess I don’t get drunk very often but I have done it 2 days in a row! Today I finished the 3/4 bottle tonight and I’m hammered! TGIF!

Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:Ok, I have a real confession.
I hope this does not get me moderated.
I hope this does not get me kicked off of here or banned.
I confess the last 2 nights we did not play any pinball machines, or even any arcade games.
We played a board game, Up Words.
I really hope I do not get a whole lot of downvotes for confessing this, and permanently banned from here.
I do not know what I was thinking, and I can not promise that it will not happen again.

Those were the times! Our kids will never know the thrill of the stuff we did in our time. They record everything on snap chat and Instagram .

    Quoted from swampfire:

Hmm. Confess that when I was 16 in 1980 and I worked at the skating rink behind the skate counter, girls my age would beg me for quarters for pinball, and I’d tell them to help themselves to my pockets (uncut, but still). I confess that was pretty creepy, maybe even bordering on passive sexual assault, but I was a product of the times, so please don’t judge me.

    #6544 2 years ago

Realizing I’m too drunk to be on here I’m confessing to much! Lol

    #6546 2 years ago

Lol! I haven’t been this drunk in a long time. The girlfriend is working tonight so I’m home alone. Yes. I think we are lucky our stuff wasn’t recorded.

    Quoted from swampfire:

No joke! If my first 5 years of adulthood were on social media, I’d be in a gutter somewhere instead of being an “Engineer IV”. LOL!
[Also, if you’re my boss and reading this: back off or I’ll quit before I turn 62!!]

I confess I spend my days waiting for contractors, wishing I could be home playing with my pinball machines!

    #6870 2 years ago

Lol! I had an engineer coming from London Ont for final inspection. I don’t mind waiting too much I get to play on Pinside while I wait!the only ones I don’t like waiting for are the ones that say “we will be there between 8am and noon” or “noon to 4”. I get other stuff done and tell them to buzz me from one of the intercoms.

Quoted from EJS:Contractor here. I shouldn’t have been poo pooing my lunch hour on pinside today.
    Nahhhhh.

    #6872 2 years ago

Most of the contractors here have the same courtesy but we still have some who think I can sit all day waiting for them. I don’t mind some days but today was a little too busy to wait like that.

Quoted from EJS:Yikes. Usually when I hit the road I let them know within a 15 minute window and round up a quarter hour. Today was so craptacular I had to use words like "early afternoon" and "late morning". They didn't care I got there when I got there it wasn't anything too urgent except for late this afternoon. Then I just said, soon.

    Enquiry!

    Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:

Confess I am trying to help my girlfriend out with a word game that she is stuck on at the moment.
The letters are YQUREIN and we need a 5 letter word.
We have QUERY already, and URINE is not the word.
If anyone can come up with that 5 letter word for her, I will give you a whole lot of upvotes.
    Thanks!

    #6877 2 years ago

    Quire?

Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:No, a 5 letter word, and can not use the same letter 2 times, but thanks for trying.

    #6906 2 years ago

I confess I had no idea you could do that with paper towel or rubbers. I confess I might try that now.

Johnny I quit smoking fully but I’m addicted to nicorette. I want to stop that now. I think I will try cough drops. Hopefully that does the trick!

    #6909 2 years ago

You have a GREAT WEEK as well!

Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:The Nicorette stuff gives me severe heartburn, I wish I could use those lounges without any heartburn.
I can not use the patches either, they ran my blood pressure up to the point that I was messed up.
As far as cough drops, I was using the Hall's menthol ones.
Anyway, I hope all of you have a GREAT WEEK!

Not to mention the time of the truckers that could thanks more loads to their customers!

    #7011 2 years ago

I missed having Taco Bell Mexi-melts not on the menu anymore. I made them at home, way better. Next recipe to remake is Mexican Pizza!

    #7770 1 year ago

I’m sorry to hear that… we used to get it after a night of partying. Always paid for the designated driver. I hated being the designated driver. Mexican Pizza and Mexican-Melts were my favourite! Good times for sure!

    Quoted from northerndude:

I have never ate at or got food from Taco Bell

    #7783 1 year ago

I have the same problem. Run from one job to the next. I tend to eat fast food way too much. It’s been a bit since I’ve eaten at Taco Bell because they don’t have the menu I like. Sometimes I’ve been in the truck running around so much by the time I get home I’ll actually order from Skip the Dishes. Most weekends I’ll make really big meals and separate it into daily leftover meals. My daughter hates it but it’s a healthy homemade meal.

Quoted from EJS:It’s been hours. It is yuck but between my hours and miles I don’t have many options.
I know this sounds backwards but we have Quick Trip gas stations that sources their products from local farmers etc so their foods are extremely fresh and delicious.

I’ve had a few infections from reticulate pythons and rock pythons leaving teeth behind after some really good bites. The worst was from a Salvator nile monitor bite. Reptiles don’t play around at all!

Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:That stuff seems to affect everyone different. One of my friends almost had to have his hand amputated after a cat scratch.
The big thing is though, the cat has to of just scratched a flea before it scratches you, so most of the time you are fine after getting scratched.

    #7965 1 year ago

I’ve been bitten from being stupid. Changing rabbit, rat, or mouse cages then trying to clean their cages. The monitor was hot at all times. He just wanted blood at any cost. Mine was the most tasty I guess. I cleaned one of the Dentrobatid tanks and forgot to turn the computer fan back on(air exchange for the orchids), an hour later I had a strawberry poison arrow frog hopping around the floor. He was wild caught and fresh to my collection. I picked him up and I had an unbelievably huge headache later! Lol I don’t know if it was just coincidence or not but I never free handled them again!

    #7978 1 year ago

I’ve only sold one game, Centigrade 37. I regret selling it but I wanted to get White Water so badly. Now that White Water is here I feel like it is bolted to the floor. So much depth to the game. My Bow and Arrow May eventually go but I doubt it. I don’t understand why people buy games that they haven’t played and then sell when they aren’t satisfied. To me every game is a 10 in my collection. Why add something you think you will get sick of?

    Quoted from hwyhed:

I confess that I like reading reviews on games, and how the owner says it’ll never leave. Yet, at the bottom, it states that they’ve owned the game in the past. I still have my 1st ever pin that I purchased, obviously it has sentimental value to me, but so many have come n gone..

    #7983 1 year ago

I said the same thing about a year ago. You will learn very quickly! I still try not to use the abbreviations though.

Quoted from Sandman33:Confession...I hate reading a post with abbreviations for pins. As if everyone is supposed to know what ABCDEFG pinball machine is. Then I have to google it to find out what game you're even talking about.
However I understand POTC is far easier than typing out Pirates Of The Carribean. etc

    #7987 1 year ago

I applied at Crown Casinos around 2000. One of the Croupiers that taught Craps was from there. He showed me some awesome diving pictures! He had a little dive boat we were going to dive all day and deal at night! I had kids and divorces instead!

    #8032 1 year ago

I agree with you fully! I only go to certain forums! For the longest time I have only been involved in a few. Every now and again I will post in one that seems positive. If it turns I drain it!

Quoted from nwpinball:I deal with enough mean, grouchy old white guys in my normal life, I don't want to subject myself to it constantly here too. My approach to Pinside: only read fun/helpful threads and threads specific to my games. Skip the front page and new posts and click topics to see only the threads you are following or have posted in, it will make for a nicer Pinside experience!

    #8061 1 year ago

I like mine! I watch it when others are playing. I don’t think I would buy one if it wasn’t already installed (too expensive) but I really think it makes a big difference!

Quoted from reynolds531:I confess that colour DMD displays are wasted on me. I have to concentrate on the game play far too much to enjoy the screen especially in a multi-ball mode. Colour is fun when you watch someone else playing.

    #8329 1 year ago

I confess I’m happy to read these again!

Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:21 years, is that all?
Hell, I have been in this house for 54 years.
I was one month old when the house was finished and we moved in, Dad had it built.
In 1992 Dad went bankrupt and lost everything, and I bought this house on the courthouse steps.
Dad had developed dementia at the time and we did not know it. I think though he was always happy to be in this house for the rest of his life, and not on the street like what was about to happen if I was not able to buy the house.

I used to grill every night outside, but now just 2 times a week, but always just these $49.99 cheap charcoal grills. They used to last about 5 years, but now I know how to make them last for 15+ years.
Confess in another thread I am so glad someone alerted me about the tin can thing that lights charcoal, and no fluid needed anymore. It works a whole lot better than fluid ever did.
Another good tip: You do not need Round-Up or any other kind of grass and weed killer, just take a leak on the area, saves on your septic system/helps with wastewater management if on sewer, and kills the weeds/grass without spending any money.
Confess though at the moment I have some weeds/grass getting out of hand, because when I try that at the moment the damn mosquitos are tearing me up so I run back in the house and put some more wear and tear on the 54 year old plumbing.
Confess I will be so glad when Winter is back again, no heat and humidity, no mosquitos or gnats, and plenty of good football games on TV.
Confess at times in the past, I was not in a good place, but just thinking about how much I really want to see which teams make it to the Super Bowl this year and for years to come really would lift my spirits.
BUT! For years those damn Patriots were always in, and for a while I was like yeah, my only reason for living just sucks anymore.
It always sucked how the best girlfriend I had ever had lived so far away, and she snored so damn bad.
Confess my girlfriend now though is super AWESOME! She is a 4 minute walk away, and what little she snores is not bad at all.
I hope we are always together. I hope someday she will take more interest in learning how to drive the boat. I would like to have some beer while on the lake, but I do not drink and drive, so I really could use a boat driver.
Confess I have ranted enough for now and time for me to take a long overnight nap.

    #8331 1 year ago

    Lmao!

    Quoted from swampfire:

Well that’s better than letting the mosquitoes put wear and tear on your “plumbing” (ouch).

    #8344 1 year ago

I hope everything works out! Good luck to you and your family.

    Quoted from dirkdiggler:

    Just a off topic rant.
Found out today my sister in law has breast cancer and has spread to her armpit. She goes Friday to cut some out and find out what's next in treatment. Over a year ago she started to have symptoms and waited 8 months to have a mammogram. I just don’t get it. If something is bothering me for any amount of time I'm going to get it checked out. Even with this appointment they said Monday at 9:30am or Friday at 1:30. Let's choose Friday because I don't want to wake up early. Wtf? Get me in as fast as possible.
I'm having a hard time to have sympathy for her. If you just went to the doctor a year ago you'd be ahead of the fight instead of down 3 rounds. I would have started her on a Rick Simpson regimen a year ago. Just ordered a pound and will have rso for her next week but fear it's already to late. .
I'm going to say a prayer for her tonight and I'm not religious.

I had a similar experience when I was 18 she was 25. I was working at Golden Griddle and the waitress from afternoon shift worked midnights to cover for her friend. We were flirting back and forth. She asked me for a ride home, I pulled up in front of her house and she asked me in for some coffee. I said no but thank you. I was made fun of by the rest of the staff that night.

Quoted from EJS:I haven’t seen (saw) them all yet. I remember one I saw (haha) with a lady I met at a pinball event. I was young enough I couldn’t completely see that she was into me and I was just excited to see the movie. I think I was 22 or something and she was closer to 35. When I dropped her off she invited me in for waffles at her place. In hindsight I think she meant breakfast the next morning. I passed and not sure what reason I gave.
Another adventure of EJS with the ladies in the confessional. Well…in this case a misadventure.

I’ve had a warrant for my arrest once, had no idea about it. No dream told me about it! My lawyer had to! I think my dreams are broken!

I confess I used to have a really short temper. The kid 16 that lived behind us tried to break into our shed at around 3:30am. I chased him back to his parents house with a 7 iron. I bashed on his front door with my fist and feet for about 5 minutes. His tough guy biker dad came to the door and yelled through it that he called the cops. Their pit bull dog didn’t even bark while I bashed and kicked the door. I went home and the cops showed up. They knew the kid and his dad so they said next time teach him a little lesson then make sure you tell us he fell. He or his dad never looked at me again!

I had a boss that used to call me sunshine, gopher, moonbeam, sport, boss pretty much everything but my own name. Once he tried it with a newer employee, I thought he was going to get knocked out. He stopped right after that. The employee lasted until his first halfway bad mistake. Our boss knew not to fire him over the name calling, but looked for anything to get him on.

First 10 trips to our dump, lawn waste(not grass) Recycling, paint, and lighting are all free all the time. When you pass the first 10 it’s by the ton, I usually get charged $7-15 for my F150 full of garbage.

    #9642 1 year ago

We all have home garbage collection. Some things aren’t taken by the city(mattresses, construction debris, tv’s, etc.). I’m a property manager so I end up charging the corporations to take stuff to the dump people leave in the garbage rooms, and around the property they don’t want to take themselves. They buy new things and leave the large boxes in the recycling area the city trucks don’t take it if it isn’t cut up or if they don’t take the styrofoam padding out of the boxes. I also don’t like leaving my lawn debris in my garage to stink after a few days.
I’ve been doing a lot of renovating at my house as well so I just throw all the debris in the truck and dump it.

    #9644 1 year ago

I do only when I fully clean out my fridge and freezers around twice a month. I have a one car garage that I tend to spend a lot of time in. I don’t want to smell all the rotting food out there. The winter isn’t bad but it’s still gross. I could probably keep my garbage bins outside but I don’t want to attract rodents.

Quoted from Jaybird815:No one I know takes their home garbage to the dump. Well, except Johnny.

Is it like an arcade with a button inside to press for free credits? Or can it just be set to free play. I’m sure there is a manual online.

Quoted from punkin:Yes, but coins don't add them, neither does playing with the mechs.

    #9822 1 year ago

    > Is there a way to set the CPU jumpers on an Allied Leisure Take Five so that it's free-play? IPDB states that the game is convertible to do add-a-ball or free-play, but I wasn't sure if it was a typo and supposed to say add-a-ball and replay. I have the game options document and there is no mention of free-play mode.

Nope, its not an option to do freeplay. IPDB is in error. And since it doesn't have memory, you cant easily do the "low replay score" trick. The easiest thing is to mount a credit switch on the coin return button.

I bought some Cognac, I might say some stuff tonight. Just ignore it! Lol

    #10179 1 year ago

Wow! Thank you! Very well written!

    Quoted from I_P_D_B:Hi,
Sorry to have misled you. Let me explain. If you go back far enough in time, before the word "replay" was invented, the manufacturers would call them "free plays" as in saying the game gives out free plays. Replays were called free plays. At some point in time, a (gradual?) switch was made to the new term "replay". When a manufacturer still uses that old term in ANY of their documentation for a game, I will anticipate that our users might see that phrase "free play" in their documentation and believe, as you did, that they meant the modern definition of that term which is to make the start button hot (coinless). So, I will write it in the following way, to include both terms, as I did in that listing:
"Operator option for either add-a-ball or free play (replay) operation."
Likely, your eyes skipped right over the word "replay" in parentheses. That happens. Now, your next question might be, where did I see this Take Five game use the phrase "free play"? It is stated in the manufacturer's flyer, as follows:
    "Add-a-Ball or Free play option."
Hopefully, back in 1978, the distributors to which this flyer was being directed knew what was being meant because why would operators want to buy a game to option it on location to have a coinless hot Start button! LOL. This was before tournaments and home use paved the way for Tournament Mode and Free Play as we now know it.

I saw a commercial for Untuck It shirts for men. I ordered a couple after a few cognac’s, they definitely run a few sizes too small. I ordered XXL, I was expecting it to be a little tight (working out again to lose weight). I think even the 3XL would be way too small. I won’t order from there again.

I bought a couple of 1up stools from The Brick. I picked up a big box for 1up and thought it was all the stools already together. Brought it home opened the box and it was the marvel 1up virtual pinball machine. I set it up just enough to play, just to see if I would want to keep it. It was pretty bad. I immediately put it back in the box and traded for my stools.

    #10267 1 year ago

Honestly to each their own. What we don’t like you may fully love! The 1up machines are carried at The brick and they have them set up in the showroom (call your brick before you go). I’m just used to the actual random hits and shots of an actual pinball.

Quoted from Pugster:I looked at them but I dunno, something about the whole setup doesn’t scream fun to me. Maybe it’d be different if I flipped one but I don’t think there’s any remotely close by.
Really do appreciate the comments guys. I’ve never played a high end VPin so it helps.

    Quoted from pinzrfun:

Was looking back at some of my old posts in this thread and ran across this one from last year.
Since then, wife and I have filed for divorce, she's been gone almost 4 months along w the kittens and her son. Piecing the empty house back together furniture-wise, trying to figure out if I can afford to stay or how many pins I'll have to sell to do so.
I hate being right sometimes - those really were the good old days.

    Looks awesome!

Quoted from ForceFlow:No, it's just one of the standard action figures. The speeder bike is basically the same as the one from the 80s. On this version they took out the spring loaded explosion feature, changed the handles, changed the foot rests, and a few other minor things. Otherwise, it pretty much looks like the same casting/die with some retooling.

I love dogs, I have 2. I really don’t care if you bring your dog in most places, however I can’t stand when people bring them into grocery stores. I have enough dog hair in my food I really don’t want your dog hair in it as well.
On a separate note trying to learn the guitar. I tried to do some riffs, didn’t realize how slow my fingers are trying to move from one position to another. I never understood the reason guitar players made those faces…. Now I get it… I’m hoping there won’t be a guitar shaped hole in my wall!

There was a place in Summerset mall that had some nice stuff. I haven’t been to the states in a little while! I’ll check the website thank you!

Quoted from pinzrfun:Mostly I order from a place about an hour from my house now, I'll go there once a year or so and grab a few different things. It's nice being able to smell them before you buy. They make brushes and blades and refurbish old razors and straight razors. Friendly people, good prices. One day I'll have to get an actual shave there, never done that before. I can remember going to the barber shop w my dad and him getting a shave, the barber sharpening the blade on the leather strap.

lawn bowls, outdoor game in which a ball (known as a bowl) is rolled toward a smaller stationary ball, called a jack. The object is to roll one's bowls so that they come to rest nearer to the jack than those of an opponent; this is sometimes achieved by knocking aside an opponent's bowl or the jack.

    #10546 1 year ago

You have a really nice setup! I think COVID woke people up to the fact that there is more to life than going to work and coming home (I am one of them). I started back with them because I get really bad razor burn with multi blade razors, not with these and it only takes a few extra minutes to have a proper shave.

    Quoted from Foxxstone_80:

I use a similar setup. I got into using DE razors after buying one on a whim at a local thrift store about 15 yrs ago. I soon began collecting antique double edge and single edge razors and had over 50 at one time.
I've sold most of them in the last few years and now have a few different classic style razors that I rotate between. Much like pinball, there is an avid group of collectors and enthusiasts and the price of old antique razors has skyrocketed. Razors that I bought for a few dollars 10-15 yrs ago have sold for $50-100 in the last few yrs.

    Quoted from northerndude:

It's strange seeing a product from other countries. It would seem like nothing for you, but in Canada everything has to have fucking french on it also. So EVERY fucking thing has english and french on the same side, OR each language is on its own side, soup can, cereal, a television box, whatever.
