When someone posts a poll asking which game is best/which one should they buy....I vote for the worst one/or the one that I have no interest in, hoping to keep the one I really want from getting too much attention and having its price rise.

A repeat but it’s been rearing it’s ugly head again...it drives me nuts to drain my last ball while there is still an extra ball lit on the table. I really beat myself up when I don’t hit that shot. I feel like the worst pinball player ever! How many Hail Mary’s will help me get over it?

    #1172 6 years ago

I tell people the “pics of game rooms” thread is my favorite pinside thread, but I look forward more to the chuckles I get reading new confessions here!

Sometimes, I’m not sure what to think .... when I read a post that says “love this game! Will never get rid of it!”....then I click on the pinsider’s collection page and the game is listed as “owned in the past.” I just shake my head.

My wife has a sensitive nose. She thought she smelled something bad in one of our upstairs bathrooms about a week ago. She saw a fly in the house today. She thinks something died in the attic and asked me to go take a look. I am up here now and gave a good glance but don’t see or smell anything. Now I’m just sitting up here reading through old confessions....when my wife periodically calls up “do you see anything?”, I yell back down “nothing yet, still looking around”. Then back to the thread...I’m gonna burn someday....

when I leave a public restroom and I see feet in one of the toilet stalls, I like to turn off the lights on my way out. I get a kick out of hearing “ho! Ho! I’m in here! Turn the light back on!” As the door slowly closes behind me.

The kicker to that prank is seeing another guy going in and knowing they will wonder “why was this guy in the dark” while the guy in the dark tries to explain.

With cell phones now having flashlight feature, this prank isnt quite what it used to be

I hope you're kidding! The guy admitted to carelessly pouring a drink over a brand new pin. Iron Maiden LE none the less! I'd feel like a moron too and expect to be judged. Actually, I'd let the ball drain. That's a bloody shame. Pinside is NOT the place to go if you don't want to be judged!

Here’s the kicker....the games at Cidercade are all on free play..so it’s not like the guy was gonna be out 75 cents or something.

This is a safe place to confess...but anything you say, can and will be held against you in the court of Pinside opinion. Haha!

    #1282 5 years ago

I have no desire to ever go on a cruise ship.

    1 week later
    #1968 4 years ago
    Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:

Actually I am pretty tight, and I have low sugar, so I stick with Natty Light, which is about like water anyway.
I used to drink more expensive beer, before I became so tight. I used to like 80 proof peppermint Snapp's or whatever that was over ice, but liquor just got to the point of instant heartburn for me.
When I was a teen I drank a lot of Crown Royal, and it was good. Then one time I tried Jack Daniels, had almost a fifth by myself one time, and that shit about killed me. After the JD episode that time I can not have brown liquor period, makes me sick immediately.
And I know what you mean about the kiss from a hot 15 year old, I was 16. And some very embarrassing shit, but I confess her kissing would give me a embarrassing wet spot. Friends would be around and I would just say damn it, I spilled my drink on myself again. Those kisses were so damn awesome, but led to embarrassing moments.
Later I probably hurt a few ladies feelings, I was not as sensitive as I should have been and told a few ladies that they needed to take kissing lessons.
Some girls can just not kiss well, or do anything well, too fast and rough. The nice and easy is what I like.
The only time I feel like a dirty old man is at the beach with some of these outfits, or lack of, ladies wear on the beach anymore. One time I thought the beach had went nude, I could not see the strings. I am not complaining at all.
And before you brought it up, I had forgot about the hot kisser, but sometimes I still have dreams(not dirty) about the first girl I was ever really attracted to when I was 13.
And I confess I was not as nice as I could have been while ago with my girlfriend, but she was late as always, and not in the best mood having to deal with her Mom(her Mom acts sick, just a show for attention), and so I am all alone with natty lights and youtube tonight. I really get tired of the shit her Mom pulls. But my girlfriend is a big time keeper, and one reason I have so many games. She loves the pins and multicades probably even more than I do.
And I confess right now Golden Tee on a multicade is getting the most play for a while now, and next purchase will not be a pin, but the first week of April I will be picking up a real Golden Tee.
And I confess I do like the pins AP have been doing, so down the road the next pin will be whatever their 3rd pin is. And because for whatever reason so many tend to hate AP and sell their pins cheap pretty quick, instead of buying NIB I will probably wait for a deal on a barely used game.
And I confess I have no use for old EM games, they look pretty good, and remind me of times when I was young, but they are really boring to play, for my tastes anyway, with all the cool features new games have.
And I confess after I have 3-4 more beers I can not guarantee that I will not be back on pinside ranting about something before I crash for the night.
In the meantime I am going to drink and drive for a while, on a multicade, I do not drink and drive a real car, not even one drink.

I confess that I want Elwin to make a shallow game like MB. All of these rules make me tired! Give me a hit this fun target 5 times and after I hit all of the toys X amount of times - something cool happens. Game are getting too confusing for the casual player.

As a casual location player, I would agree. Played TMNT (not Elwin but still deep rules) this week for the first time. After 5 games I felt overwhelmed and had to move on to other games.

    Quoted from RandomGuyOffCL:

    The Ca thread?
You know someone posted a picture in that thread. An image that has caused a tremendous amount of division in this country.
I don’t blame him for posting it. It’s actually my fault that the image made its way here from starting that thread in the first place. Something I’m not proud of.
These contentious threads I start are based on true stories but I purposely add trigger words to get people fired up. Typically you will get a side against my position, then a side in support...then those 2 sides start going at it. No doubt a few of my threads have made some pinsiders on opposite sides of the stage not like each other...and for that I’m sorry.
    Why do I do it?
Honestly from all the other negative shit and attitudes I see here which seem to go unchecked...so with that negativity under my skin I say fuck it...I might as well throw some more gas on the fire since this place loves a good blaze right?
To be honest I should have been frozen or blocked from a few of those threads but I usually word them in a way which makes me seem oblivious so I get to slide...even though I know exactly what I’m doing...the Ca thread for instance was really me disturbed by the smoke...but I knew deep down what it would turn into...how it made 13 pages is a miracle.
I’m not posting this looking for upvotes...I just want to apologize for creating division.
I’ll just stick to threads About men’s restroom dividers from now on
And another sad sight is this list of pinsiders who are listed inactive/frozen/blocked which I compiled from just the 1st page of this thread

    Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:

I actually plan to have chicken noodle soup for lunch in a few hours. I have had problems for over a day now.
I am learning the hard way that Buffalo wings and beer all the time does not work well as we get older, and soon I may have to attempt to eat a fruit or vegetable also.
And usually I would shrug all this off and just drink a bottle of Pepto, in between Nattys, but this is a tad more serious.
And I confess, a bottle of Pepto does mess up the taste buds for the next 4-5 Nattys. (also causes you to lose that nice buzz you were having for a while). And it sucks.
And even though I did give a upvote because I am nice and like to give upvotes, I may have to go back to the Quarantine Cooking Thread, and withdraw the upvote I gave about bacon and Oreos on the grill. I upvoted that because it was just so crazy, but now that I feel like crap that picture is making me feel worse.
And I am 100% joking. I will not take that upvote back.
I did stay in bed most of the day while watching football.
I only played one game and that was Big Buck Hunter for one round of Rams.
My girlfriend played 3 more rounds of Big Buck Hunter, and she was happy, she had a great score on Wildebeest.
100% true I will be having soup, and trying something different soon, I love my lifestyle, but my body is turning against me now. Soon I may have to eat peas and carrots and all that horrible stuff as I get older.
AND, if you have never seen Tom Hanks in the Forest Gump movie, or have not seen it in years, WATCH THAT MOVIE!
I hope I am not as slow as Forest, I very well could be and not even know it.
I love how after the shrimp boat with LT Dan stuff that Dan bought them stock in a fruit company, and suddenly they were worth "gazillions of dollars".
    That movie is awesome!
I had not watched that movie in several years, and I wanted to see it again. (I have the dvd).
My girlfriend was like "oh, I have only seen bits and pieces of that movie and I did not care for it".
2 nights ago(before I became ill), after we were all done playing games and just chilling out with tv I said "we have to end this now".
She was confused at that statement and said "what"?
I said we have to end the fact that I want to watch a awesome movie again that you hate because you have never seen the entire movie.
We are closer now. She big time enjoyed the movie.

So ok, unedited and not deleted.
I confess I constantly delete a lot of shit to try to make my posts shorter.
And in here I am just trying to entertain.
In real life while not on Pinside yeah, I need to change my diet from Buffalo wings and beer and maybe try some veggies soon, my stomach has not been happy for over a day now.
In real life I do have a rare thing that I am sure I have already talked about: Cat Scratch Disease.
I was 100% worried that when I purchased Big Buck Hunter I would not even be able to see the game looking through a rifle. But at the same time I knew that at least my girlfriend would enjoy it.
I have health problems, some my fault, some by accident.
I can say that before my stomach started acting up again these games have big time helped me! Even my eyes are doing better most of the time.
And damn because I was just so sick all the time when I was a kid and luckily grew out of most of that, I confess that while I love all kinds of crazy stories on here, and seeing pics of dogs, and everything else, I confess that what really touches me is a story on here, or even a local news story, about someone, or some organization putting games in a children's hospital, to help make a kids life better.
(I never wanted kids and never had any), BUT if I ever see a kid in need I will help them the best I can.
And because I do not feel great at the moment it makes me start to think about a new will, that will place my games in children's hospitals if anything were to happen to me.
And yeah, I do have a note on my keyboard that I am having soup for lunch in a few hours.
I wish I could just have been very short and very funny. Sorry to be long again, I hope some of it was funny.
I started this with here I go again song in my head, ending it with life goes on. (Jack and Dianne).
I wish all of you the best always!
And I am sorry for a long post, but while I was typing it, made me forget about my current pain.

My short street is one of a couple that a lot of thru traffic cuts down and people gun it to get down the street a LOT. I scream and yell at people all the time too. Lol.
A few times I thought I was going to really get into it with some people. I felt embarrassed yelling in front of neighbors a few times and said sorry, but they actually thanked me and agreed (Many of them have kids).
One neighbor (since moved) used to have a paintball gun he would leave set out in the summer...that's all I'll say on that one....he was a pretty hardass guy and didn't have interest in backing down if he got angry. But he was a nice neighbor.

Happy New Year, @johnnypinball007! Keep your chin up and your Nattys ice cold! This confession is for you...

I’ve never been able to see the “man in the moon.”

I also was never able to see the images of those optical illusions posters from the 1990’s. The ones you had to stare at and lose focus to see the image. Maybe it’s related to the moon thing. Maybe it’s not.

I’m color blind. Maybe that’s a factor. Being color blind isn’t a recognized disability, even though I can’t fly a plane or work as a water tester in a dialysis clinic because of job requirements.

But some overweight person on welfare who gets winded walking up a flight of stairs can get a blue handicap permit for VIP parking at Wal Mart. And collect disability.

Speaking of... has anyone seen the latest list of “recognized disabilities” lately? The next time you apply for a job and they ask for the EEOC info, take a gander of the long list to choose from.

Wishing everyone a safe and prosperous New Year, and I pray for sanity to again rule the earth someday soon.

    Quoted from dung:

I confess that I have a growing contempt for people in this hobby. Have 3 games listed for trade on FB. Was looking for a 2 for 1 or even 3 for 1 trade.
Having some idiot tell me no one is going to want them (2 are top 100 on here). Not just once, but going on a multi comment rant. Not that I am overpriced, just that no one is going to want to do such a trade.
Being asked repeatedly if they are for sale when the add says trade. Having these idiots try and argue with me why I should trade for cash. It isn't even worth bothering with because were I to offer a cash price, they won't even pay the pinside average. They message because they think they will get it cheap.
Being asked instead of if I will trade 2 of mine for another game, if I will trade 1 of them for 3-4 craptastic titles.
Being asked if I will sell/trade games that are in my pictures but not listed. Being offered bad deals (no, I won't let go of my Mystery Castle for a game worth less money and pay you for the privilege)
Seriously, fuck people in this shit hobby. Selling outright isn't any better because you spend most of your time dealing with tire kickers or low ballers. Perfectly understand a lot of deals won't work out. Logisitcs, valuations, or even just not having interest in one or more of the titles, but 90 percent of time spent on these things is pure bullshit from people not reading. The other 9 percent is from some idiot who thinks their game is worth more than it is and that yours is magically worth less. At least their self serving excuses are fun fodder for discussing with friends.

What games are you looking to trade?

    #3066 3 years ago
    Quoted from dung:

Its because people are lazy and self centered when it comes to anything. They want it, but don't want to pay for it. We could have 20 dollar video games, they would still offer 5 bucks. People are shit.

I have a story...I went to look at the “warehouse of games” everyone is talking about and saw that a guy in KC who was interested in the Cyclopes. So I PM the guy and let him know that I’m not interested in that game (I wanted the two EBDs) but that I can pick it up and bring it to him since I was headed that way. I just needed to know what he wants to pay for the Cyclopes, and I’ll ask the seller when I get there.

We had PMs, texts, and voice calls. Not one time did the guy say “hey, how much do you want for your time and sweat?” or “I appreciate the hook up, would $xxx cover your helping me out?” So, I agree. There are some guys in this hobby that are pretty self-centered and don’t want to pay for anything.

    #3069 3 years ago
    Quoted from dung:

You contacted me and asked what I'd pay for two games you didn't own and didn't have prices on. You didn't have any real information on other than what is posted on here, which is 1-2 pictures each. For the record for those reading they are the shit on cyclopes and the empty falling apart ebd 81 cabinet from the how do you sell a warehouse thread. You did not say what you wanted for your services. You simply asked what would I pay for the games if you picked them up for me.
You were already going to the warehouse and already driving through KC, although we never agreed on where we were meeting. I saw one whopping picture of the pf and offered 350 for a shit covered cyclopes we both agreed was a basket case. You wanted to take the two ebd and make one working one. I offered 250 for the empty/stripped 81 cabinet if you wanted to part with it.
600 for a health hazard basket case game with no boards, no backglass, and no idea if it can be saved cyclopes. Oh, and a empty health hazard 81 ebd cabinet that we have no idea if it is even solid enough to be moved.
You told me offered 100 dollars for each of the games to the seller. A 400 dollar profit for moving and getting the guts out of the 81 ebd. So you wanted to make 400, get the guts out of an ebd, and get paid for your troubles?
    [quoted image][quoted image]

You just outed yourself. Great confessional!

After seeing those games, yes. $100 each was all I would pay for them and that was a stretch. You come here bitching about self centered people in the hobby, and I shared an experience with someone like that on the same day.

I know tons of great guys in the hobby. From Texas to Louisiana, to Colorado to Missouri and everywhere in between. The “bad actors” are few and far between....I have two lists: Great guys and guys to avoid. The great guy list is way longer.

Sorry I couldn’t help you out. More so that you didn’t appreciate it. And I feel really bad that you had to post our situation public, not contact me directly. Keep it classy. The pinside way!

I think a late night talk show with Johnnypinball as the host and LTG as the sidekick, ala Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon, would be a big hit.

I’ve been off pinside the past few weeks and getting caught up on The Confessional thread....it seems like Johnny’s posts are getting longer. Which made me wonder if there is a character limit on posts and if there is, Johnny will be the first one to reach it. I also wondered if Johnny types professional style or hunt and pecks with his two index fingers...which then got me to wondering how much better and longer his posts would be if he could adopt talk-to-text technology in sending his posts. Which led me to the cliff notes version of reading Johnny’s posts: I skip over them then read other people’s responses to what he posted, and if what they posted was interesting, then I go back and read Johnny’s post. This has saved me some time (whew! That was a lot of typing! I don’t know how Johnny does it to make it look so easy!)

    PS...I had three Natty’s tonight!!!

I confess that when I retired alcohol became a real problem. I was a heavy drinker all my life and come from a family that had several alcoholics in it. I learned how to drink and function very well and became a "functioning alcoholic".
12 years ago I got up one morning and decided I wasn't going to drink that day. I havent touched any alcohol since that day. All my friends know this and believe it or not it is possible to live life without a 12 pack and your friends will not think of you as being any "smaller" of a person for abstaining from alcohol.
One small remark tho: If you think you might be a alcoholic then you are. Do something about it today, not tomorrow. One day at a time .
First time Ive ever said this publicly and if feels good. Thank you my friends!

That’s mental toughness, right there! Good job!!!

Another confession I’m really impressed at the truth bombs LTG is dropping over in that thread about that guys parents separating. 3rd post in if you haven’t had a chance to read it. For some people it takes a lifetime to gain those lessons and I confess I see some people might not want to hear some sobering truths. It’s like….do you want to hear what you WANT to hear -or- what needs to be heard. I confess I should probably avoid posting in that thread anymore. Almost bit my tongue off reading more of the responses. Going to leave it alone.

That show “Chasing Classic Cars”...I used to enjoy watching it all the time. Then one episode, Wayne featured a car from one of the guys who was in his neighborhood when he was a kid growing up. He went on and on about the memories he had of the car....how much it meant to him seeing it growing up....and how he really wanted it. Then....he turned around and sold it as soon as he got his hands on. What a putz! I can’t stand to even look at that Lorax looking fuck after that.

So...I’m browsing the forum tonight and decided to toss out a few “upvotes” in various threads. The first three threads I stop and visit:

    The “animated gif thread”,
The “Let’s close this thread down” thread, and the “Boat owners thread”, to which I don’t own a boat but posted a funny pic about boat owners and wanted to see if anyone liked it.

Well....the first post I click on in each of those threads...who do you think was already there with an upvote?

Yup....johnnypinball! Not only is he the William Shakespeare of “The Confessional” thread, he is also the most giving upvoter around!!!

Here’s a Natty Light to Johnny!! Cheers!!!!

    Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:

    That never stopped me.
(You have made 608 posts in this topic.) (what it says on my page at the top).
So this is number 609 for me.
All that typing I have done here just relaxed me while I was doing it.
Confess while ago I thought about starting a topic called "What is the most illegal thing you have ever done, or been a part of", but right now I am not in the mood to start a new topic, and really that fits here anyway.
Confess about 35 years ago a vehicle warranty expired at 60,000 miles, and it had big time engine issues at 68,000 miles, and a friend of a friend, of another friend, told me to take it to this address, and they will back up the speedometer for me.
I would not even confess that now, but since 35 years ago, and I can not remember anything about how all of that started, if I were to get busted now I only remember one thing: the dude that did the work had a something another with some kind of dust in it, and after he was done, removed his fingerprints, he added a layer of dust back inside of the speedometer area.
I will never forget the dust thing, it was so clever I thought.
If the dude that did that is even still alive he would have to be around 90 now, and I never paid attention to what he looked like anyway, so if this even happened, I probably was just drinking beer and goofing off.
I totally forgot what I was saying, I have never done anything illegal.
Anyway, I have not had any car warranty messages in a long while now, but today I had my first message about my student loans, and it was a long message and they were sounding all serious. Problem is I never have had any student loans, so they are barking up the wrong tree calling me with that crap.
The only scam messages that really hit home for me and ticked me off was a while back there was some about my Dad's bankruptcy about 30 years ago.
Like some scammers are digging through old files, and thinking they can convince surviving family that there are still some things that they have to take care of.
Confess I am very easy going, and not many people I hate, but I do hate scammers.
And I love how ForceFlow works to keep information about pinball scam sites.
I really think though he should start a new topic, to just list verified for real sites, at this point with so many scammers popping up all of the time it just seems like listing real sites would be easier.
Oh, and my girlfriend gets tired of all of these numbers calling her, so she goes through the whole thing and presses one to be removed from the list, and then she has 10 times the problems.
I never do any of that, and I have very few scam calls.
I recently read that even if you press a number, (like my girlfriend is doing), the scammers sell your number to other scammers, because you actually were active.
And whatever you do, do not depend on your phone to keep all of your contacts, always keep all of that on paper also, in case you ever lose your phone.
(I have one friend that never learns, and every time he has phone problems he cries about he no longer has anyone's number).
***no need to read all of that, just boring phone stuff***

609 Johnny posts out of 5179 total .... that equates to about 12% of all posts in The Confessional thread being made by Johnny! I wonder how many Natty Lights have been consumed during those writings!?!!

I confess the new Cinematic camera views suck. Especially on close ups during sporting event broadcasts (ya, I’m talking to you NFL)….I like to people watch and this blurred background really does no Justice.

PS…Cubs TV broadcasts are the best for people watching when you can’t be there in person.

I am not a fan of the Cinematic camera views on sporting events. I can’t see interesting things in the background, like fans, fan signs, cheerleaders, etc. and when they have the camera moving on a group of players running, the focus shifts often and it just sucks. I confess cinematic camera view takes away from my viewing pleasures.

NFL Helmets are now like Chinese Fortune Cookies. Every player has a different little slogan on the bottom back of his helmet. Waiting for players to turn around just to see which fortune we get is as exciting as it gets! Offensive huddles mean multiple fortunes! Only thing missing is a few lucky numbers to play powerball with.

I confess I am boycotting the Olympics this year….and I love the Winter Olympics. But if our political leaders didn’t go, and they are telling the athletes to keep their mouths shut for their safety, and it’s the middle of a pandemic….then the Olympics should have either not taken place or we shouldn’t have sent anyone. I won’t even channel surf across the tv channels broadcasting the events because I don’t want NBC to get a ratings hit, even for a fraction of a second. F$*% ‘em!
