Quoted from snowy_owl:I confess that I don't own a cat but I still enjoy looking at the cats and pinballs thread as well.
I confess I have no use for cats. I would never be mean to them or any animal, I just try to stay away.
8 or 9 years ago I helped my neighbor get his kitten off his roof. He had just had surgery and was not able to climb the ladder.
The kitten scratched me. It was just playing king of the mountain or something, it was not being mean, and neither was I.
I never used to get sick. I started getting sick all the time, bad colds, and just crazy problems.
One day all of a sudden I thought I was going blind. My Dad was already blind from diabetes, and I have low sugar.
I went to Pearl Vision, and after a few minutes checking my eyes they said I needed to go to a eye specialist asap.
The specialist was also freaked out. They sent me to their best Doctor, and after taking a look he started asking me all these questions, like had I been bit by a tick recently, and all kinds of stuff.
All my answers were no, until the question came up have I been scratched by a cat.
So I had to go get blood work and I tested positive for cat scratch disease. They said I will always have it.
The medication got most of my eyesight back, but there is still a spot in my right eye that I can no longer read a eye chart with that eye.
Sorry for the long story, but always be aware those kittens can mess you up.
This is no joke. I wish it was.
