I confess I wonder if people walking into these threads for the first time if they actually take the time to real through everything or if most of what we type is to be seen by few over the next few days never to be read again.

When I jumped into the boob thread (can’t remember why, the people seem nice so that’s probably it) I didn’t look at anything previously posted except page 1. Maybe I joined because they aren’t normal people…like me.

    Quoted from JohnnyPinball007:

Confess I have never been married, and never plan to lose half my stuff.
However, I would have a new will drawn up for the right one though.
(I think I have the right one now). Time will tell.

Dude, you don't have to be married. Just being with someone for 6 months and poof, half your shit is gone when she decides it's over.

One of my dealers in high school rented a room to store his crap as he was a rig pig. She was a single mother. At the six month mark she evicted him and guess what? He had to pay child support for a kid he had nothing to do with. Sneaky smart bitch.

There’s a slang term for that called “daddy by default”.

In MN realtors have a phrase called “one to buy two to sell”. Meaning you can buy a house as a bachelor living it up, pay it off etc then you meet someone. If you sell, even if the relationship is cool, the check is made out to both of you.

    #8004 1 year ago

dirkdiggler I keep meaning to screenshot it but one of my friends has his Wi-Fi name set to Boogie Nights thought you’d like that.

    Quoted from punkin:

Confess i never once thought i was giving my ex 'half my stuff'.
I didn't have much when i met her and everything i'm proud of we built together. It was our stuff. I still dragged the fight out for ages, but it was over %'s.

I dated a lot and had a lot of fun when I was a teen, but the minute I was out of high school I just wanted to work all the time and make as much money as I could, so that when I was older, I would not end up like the guys that were working for my Dad, they were all just broken down and miserable.

And at that time I was making 10% interest on my money in savings, and I just wanted to work all the time and keep growing that.

Confess I thought savings account sucked when interest went to 6%, and that is when I drained it to buy rental houses.

Confess I am so glad I did that when I did. Money in savings still sucks, but rental income is sweet.

Confess I never dated from the time I was 18, until right about the time I was turning 30.

I never even kissed a girl during those years, for 12 years.

(Not saying I may have been around some girls and had some fun for 50 bucks during that time, but I damn sure never kissed them).

Confess I totally understand what you are talking about though with starting off with nothing and building things together.

The 12 years that I was working up to 120 hours a week for such a long time, it was just me, no time to even try to find someone to build with.

Confess I worked my ass off, and I am worn out now.

But at least I did reach most of my goals, and I am not whining about life like my Dads employees were doing at about the same age as I am now.

Confess I am still working 7 days a week, for myself, because I want to.

Confess I will no longer be getting up at 5am to work for anyone else because I have to.

(Confess that even though I am still working 7 days a week, total hours for the week is really only around 35 now).

(Confess that number of hours needs to come down some more, because I would love to have some more afternoon naps).

Confess for a short while it was sweet to get up right before lunch, work a little, eat lunch, take a 3 hour afternoon nap, and then have dinner and play pinball.

Life is short. I have worked a WHOLE lot during my lifetime, and now I am ready for more naps.

    Quoted from dirkdiggler:

Dude, you don't have to be married. Just being with someone for 6 months and poof, half your shit is gone when she decides it's over.

I have been in 3 past relationships that lasted around 5 years each, and no problems.

Confess I have heard about weird stuff like you are talking about happening though.

One time though my lawyer did tell me that is only what you accumulate during the relationship that could be in risk, so pretty much these days I may lose half of some games if he is right.

Confess I just remembered! One relationship I was worried, and waited for her to get drunk and say the right things so that I knew I was free and clear.

I know she misses me, she thought I was her easy ticket to a early retirement for herself.

Hell, even that one was a lot of fun for a while, except for her drinking, and I drink a whole lot myself, but I am fine when I do, and she was not.

(She would drink and drive constantly, and that is a big HELL NO!)

That one just had a evil daughter that used her golden child grandson to make everything worse any chance she got.

Confess I have always hated Amy Schumer, because she looks just like what that evil daughter looked like.

In Missouri there is no common law marriage, but they are recognized if coming from a state that does. Also, only marital property is split in a divorce. If you owned before, it's still yours.

^^^ I was at that session at TPF, it was awesome! I’ll see if I can find the show video and post it here. Steve is hard of hearing in one ear (like my wife), so I remember people being asked to speak up a lot. But Steve was perfect in that role.

I confess I am looking forward to CA Extreme! Already made a list of games I hope to play in person. Going to be fun!

First time I remember him wearing something for his hearing was when I got my NOS T2 playfield signed by him in 2008 at expo.

I sold it to a guy who flew into MSP, we met in the airport parking ramp and then he walked back in with it as a carry on item.

Playfield should be in a game. Somewhere online there are pics of the swap.

Confess that MtnFrost is a nice guy (we have pm'ed) but a fuckin' slow learner...

edit; correction, a fast learner but stubborn...

I also confess that 5 waffles with maple syrup is too much sugar.

I confess, I keep a Bible in my truck and use the pages to light campfires. It's a great compact fire starter when camping and you can usually pick them up for free.

I’ve just learned over the years that donating $ is more effective “speech” than saying what I think on forums. Nobody ever switched sides on an issue because of a Pinside post. And I might be throwing my money away, but that’s my prerogative.

Speaking of throwing money away, I confess I had a casino dream last night. But I know there’s nothing but pain and free drinks behind those doors.

I confessed I haven't logged in a few weeks (my Pinside "pulse" makes me look I am dead now) and saw 275 new messages in this thread. I skipped ahead to the last couple pages and called it good.

I confess that the negativity at pinside is starting to get to me. Never did before as I did not care.
Worried I now care for things that used to mean absolutely nothing to me!

I deal with enough mean, grouchy old white guys in my normal life, I don't want to subject myself to it constantly here too. My approach to Pinside: only read fun/helpful threads and threads specific to my games. Skip the front page and new posts and click topics to see only the threads you are following or have posted in, it will make for a nicer Pinside experience!

This thread will be 9 years in August, and I confess that makes me happy. Not because I started the thread, but just that a conversation among friends can last that long. And I confess that I don’t mind that the basic idea of the thread has changed. It’s like a bar housed in a building that used to be a gas station. It just kinda works.

    #8031 1 year ago

There's a few little refuges here that have a nice feeling where people look after each other. This is the main one.

    #8032 1 year ago

I agree with you fully! I only go to certain forums! For the longest time I have only been involved in a few. Every now and again I will post in one that seems positive. If it turns I drain it!

You just have to love the Coke bottle: goût original. The real deal unadulterated Coca-Cola: I spent my youth reading bilingual cereal boxes in Canada. I cannot say that it did me much good in my French comprehension.

I hope you also hit The Tides for fish, chips and beer! I just went to Millville Pizza in Gig Harbor for the first time on Sunday, decent pies, super friendly staff. Picked up a couple records at Gig Harbor Audio, walked the waterfront, shopped the Goodwill, and made a day of it. We always plant shop at Raft Island Roses when we're there too, great family owned nursery... I dig your town. Wish Aaron from Fast Pinball still had all the pinball downtown.

I confess i think people who list the newest pinballs for sale with under 200 plays spend more time proof reading their elaborate adds that list all the "add ons" with descriptions of how much it adds to the game than they do playing pinball. They get their thrill by owning something that someone else actually wants but are having trouble obtaining.. (LE's for example) pissing matches with their pocket books!

I'm just having a laugh at all the repetitive adds on fb marketplace this morning!

I confess I bought this animatronic spring up zombie at a garage sale today. When I put in batteries it sprang up and scared the shit out of me. My wife came out and said what happened??

Confess i'm seriously considering (and leaning towards) holding an annual 3 day pinball carnival here for free and opening my place up to 100 people at a time.

Looking into sporting event alcohol licensing, food truck catering and hosting comps, gold coin friendly money games and freeplay sessions with open doors.

    I must be fucking mad.

If anyone is here around Coffs NSW and want's to be part of the event by loaning machines or services let me know via PM. Date will be the last weekend in January each year (Australia Day Weekend).

I'll be throwing the idea to the members of our pinball club today and see if we can form a small working committee to achieve it.

Let the Annual Coffs Coast Carnival of Pinball begin.
