Hi cocktailers

I posted this in the Sys 80b forum but thought I'd post here also.

OK so I do have a head scratcher with my Night Moves.

The 5v coming off the A2 board was really low.Reading around 0.5v - 0.8v depending on the pot adjustment. Consequently game not booting.

With the 12v connector unplugged from the A2 power board I measure around 14V.

As soon as 12v connector is connected to the A2 board it drops to around 1.6v. This is with or without the 5v connector attached.

Now exactly the same happens when connecting a new replacement board.

Any ideas ? The ground is fine from power board all the way back to the transformer panel.

SOLVED

Bad ground connection at the 12v bridge.

Wanted to check in here first but would I be able to order new system 11 flipper assemblies and retro fit them on my take 5 cocktail? There is plenty of room under the playfield but I wasnt sure if they would work with the board. Any help is appreciated!

This thread was recommended to me as I just bought two NIB Caribbean Cruise pins. Cool stuff in here. I unboxed one and left the other sealed. I might sell or trade out one of these. I’d like a minty night moves.

Did they put some protector between the battery and board so it doesn’t make contact until removed?? How is the battery still perfect?!
That’s incredible

#213 5 years ago

it's absolutely beautiful to see it again today ... a cc nib.
Too bad I'm in France, I would have taken you directly...
congratulation

These pics are just as I unboxed one yesterday, I did clean the glass and blew out the dust. Other than that, this is exactly how it was

#215 5 years ago

Amazing score. I would have snagged those if I had seen them for sale.

#216 5 years ago

Most Excellent Score, love the fact there are still minty fresh pins like this still around. Eternal hope survives!

I too am soooo jealous. I’ve wanted a CC for a long time. Congratulations on those wonderful NIB machines.

I think I've asked this before but I can't find the thread back . . .

Would Rotation VIII be a good game to grab? I know of one locally that can be had relatively cheap, but I wonder if the best part of the game is just the rotating pf and not the actual game play.

I have two of these, one kinda works. Other than the rotating, it is a pretty crappy game to be honest. But its weird and unique, which I like. Just looking inside the thing its amazing to me that it ever worked...lol.

You’ll have to work on it because they’re unique and have a lot of issues, but I would buy one in a heartbeat! They’re just so weird and unique. I also would love a Spectra IV

Hey Night Moves owners! NM just needs two more ratings to be in the Pinside 100 ratings list. If you own or have played a Night moves go rate it so we can see where it places.

Thanks for posting! I thought I had already rated Night Moves but I hadn’t! One more rating needed!

#224 5 years ago

Wooh. We did it. Night moves currently at #86 in the pinside top 100. Right above Seawitch.

#225 5 years ago

Already down to #86 hurry and sell before it's knocked out

I've got a valley spectra IV and have been looking for a slip ring and coin door assembly. I know it's a long shot but does anybody have one?

I'm not selling mine any time soon. I love hitting the bonus shot and the funky music.

#228 5 years ago

Anyone have a take 5 or Roy Clark parts game. I am looking for a few things, specifically a flipper assembly or at least a new bushing. This fix is pretty bush league and what I found when I got it on the rotisserie. Thats the "Screen door latch/random old bracket combo flipper bushing stop" ‍Let me know!

Glass is beat already but good point though! Speaking of glass for cocktail machines, does anyone make this?

You might be on your own with getting specs to a glass maker. Then you'd likely have to paint the black surround yourself. I've read where people have indicated custom tempered glass in general isn't too expensive, but I've never tried.

I repainted the black surround on my CC glass. The glass can be removed from the metal housing surrounding it.

Good to know it can be done. My Night Moves glass is heavily scratched and I have often wondered about replacing it.

Is the original black surround painted ? Or some sort of decal / masking ?

It's painted as far as I can tell on my CC. It was badly flaked.

Hi all,
Going to take a look at a semi-working Night Moves later - Just after some advice please on what to look for and what to make sure is working...
Cheers

Check for alkaline damage on boards. Most else should be easily manageable.

Besides the usual (pops and switches working, plastics intact), make sure all the segments work on the display. A little wear around the display window is common.

Hey. Started having intermit issues with my Night moves bonus lane (in the upper right corner). Sometimes it will roll over the switch and work, and others it doesn't respond at all.
It never works during multiball(not sure if its supposed to).
Any suggestions on where to start troubleshooting?

It is supposed to register for multiball. Is there a diode on the switch? A component may be failing, or maybe a cold solder joint. Those are the 2 things that come to mind

Yes, hes somewhat local to me, I bought a game from him before.. no issues with it. I thought about getting his spectra, but at the time I dont think he had ever set it up and tested it and the guy that has the spectra IV website,, I looked all over and read it, and you really need to take the game partially apart to see where the boards are hidden to check condition. And parts dont exist. I wanted it, but it really would not be fixable if it goes out- I thought $500 would be a fair price for it looking at the last few I saw for sale.

#243 5 years ago

I believe that one is not put together and taking someone's word that it is working. I have a working one I got from Clay last spring I've considered selling it but $500 wouldn't do it.

yeah, maybe he does have it on and working now, the pics showed it on anyways, unless thats just a pic to show what it looks like .

If they only made 377 Caribbean cruise pins ...then why is my serial number 2026?

#249 4 years ago

I am another unashamed cocktail pin collector, though sadly only have one left at home, a GamePlan Vegas.
The rest, about 15-20 various titles (some duplicates), are now with the PPM in Alameda CA

Quoted from Deerlakes6:

People are questioning those numbers and lately it’s been suggested that both NM and CC were both made in double to possibly triple quantities.
