Quoted from Pinball-Wiz:

I just hope everyone over there is rested up after their 3 week paid national vacation. I would be so upset to know they weren't relaxed and had some pocket money to throw parties or travel.

When you saw HomePin's notes on manufacturing, you would think there was a national Chinese holiday every...single...weekend.

Homepin: Oy mates, why can't you show up Friday?
Employees: Uh, there's a holiday, national cat festival weekend. Yes, that's it. Sorry, can't come in.

I wouldn't feel like pitching in any $ in regards to TBL, any more than I would pitch in to the relief fund for victims of Bernie Madoff. This is a luxury toy, not life-saving medication.

Quoted from Richthofen:

Why were they so bent on getting 50 BoPs made when they still had 100+ more TBLs to go? Oh yeah because they were broke and needed to sell more BoP preorders to finish TBL.

The Bride of Pinbot 2.0 seemed to have been concieved to quickly make money, as I didn't see much hype for remake wishes. Sure, the revamped DMD animations are nice, but not enough to build a pinball machine around it.

The only harder sell was Hammer of the Godz. The only pinball machine where you get to do a scavenger hunt to build. Yay!

Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:

DP could plan to use $1.5k of labor to build a game, $1k in transportation, warehousing, taxes and more parts and $500 for unknowns. This small amount of funds potentially would allow DP to pay for getting this done. Of course, it assumes building pinballs is easy and that Barry knows what he’s doing. I’ll check back next Summer to see how things progressed and count the number of satisfied EA’s.

Lock the remaining DP employee in the warehouse, give him a piss bucket, and give him food when he gives out boxed, complete, working pins. There's no labor to pay, it's free real estate. No holidays.

Quoted from benheck:

Good to see them making progress. Maybe they should have done it this way from the start.

It's amazing how much one can accomplish without all those pesky Chinese holidays.

"oh sorry, can't make it tomorrow. it's uh.. um, national dragon day. Big holiday.".

Quoted from Tuna_Delight:

"Chinese holidays"???

It seemed like during TBL's pinball theater in China, there seemed to be a production shutdown every weekend due to some Chinese holiday. I am convinced the workers were just making up new ones on the fly.

Forget the bowling game, I want that Star V game! A pretty dang cool mechanical arcade game.
