I know I'm repeating myself and it's been a long time, but Phil mentioned "Back to the Future" on his way out the door.
Quoted from o-din:
I don't think so. Taylor is simply wondering who is giving out his e-mail address to a company he wants nothing to do with. He wasn't complaining, he was simply stating.
I don't like it when my e-mail is given out without my permission either. Companies should have a little more respect for their customers than doing that.
FWIW, somehow Dutch has my email too. I've never contacted the company. The only time I even mention them is occasionally on this thread.
Which speaks to Taylor's concern....How did Dutch get the email addresses? I'm more curious than concerned.
Just a thought.... If lawyers do get involved down the line, will Phil be asked to testify?
Quoted from Compy:
Hmm, plot twist... Apparently DP's main (or only?) software engineer (Koen) no longer works at DP according to LinkedIn...
It's pretty ridiculous that you guys have to get news like this from here. Shouldn't Jaap be mentioning this in the updates, instead of the same vauge statements?
Trying to figure out why Unigroove would want to risk losing the good will that he's built with his magazine by appearing to be a DP apologist/ sycophant.
I know it's been mentioned before, but if there is a positive to be found with the latest pinball news it's that the pre order business is once and for all DOA.
I dunno...Just my opinion; I think taking this to a private Pinside group is a slippery slope. I read Pinside (way too much) to keep up with everything pinball, including the behind the scenes activities of the companies putting out the games. It helps me decide my next purchase.
I guess an argument can be made that the "Official _____ Threads" should also be private as they would mainly be for owners. Same with the JPOP/Skit B threads.
....or maybe it's my own selfish reasoning ; I've followed this thread for over 3 years and not knowing updates or an outcome is pretty anti-climactic.
Cointaker has stuck their neck out for pinball in the past and lost a ton of money (getting screwed by J-Pop.) They have a stellar reputation and, as others have mentioned, are just trying to satisfy their customers.
In no way are they the bad guys here.
