I really want to see the machines come out, so I hope Dutch and ARA can agree on something. There are plenty of options to make more machines. The market is certainly larger than 300 machines, and any marketing material limiting to 300 games leaves a lotta ins lotta outs and what have yous. We don't see their licensing agreements, but the Dutch to Customer agreement is fairly vague.

For example, 300 games could be 300 as described, so they could make a few hundred "pro" version without the bowling lane at a sub $8,500 price and still honor the marketing claims. I bet a lot of people would jump in for that. There are way more than 300 people gawking at this thread.

It's a fun game. I shot a 360 video of it at Chicago Pinball Expo.

The I probably needed the camera pointed down into the bowling alley, but this is a fun game. I like the warm orange colors on it.

I have a pinball machine shaped empty spot in the basement, waiting on Cointaker's second crate to arrive from China. I am super excited for the machine!

#6537 1 year ago

I'm not low enough on the list at Cointaker to get one from the first container. So, I am hoping to get one from the second shipment.

This is an awesome idea. Wish I could upvote more than once.

Combo shots are needed. A few random ideas...

I am pretty excited by the crate photo. That engineering sample in the photo is a major milestone. I imagine it's getting the "You see what happens. You see what happens, Larry!" treatment. I would be less excited if a good 2 weeks didn't pass before they approve the samples. If they get approved too quickly, a problem might slip through.

What will the community think of a buyer who might acquire a machine from a hypothetical auction of the machines in a liquidation? If ARA gets to sell them, they would not owe them to the original buyers.

I have no doubt that DP has the license to The Big Lebowski IP. But, I bet Universal might shout “OVER THE LINE” when they see TBL IP used in a video for a legal defense gofundme. I would expect a cease and desist will result in a takedown of this strategy pretty soon.

I want this to work out well. At the end of the day. There is a load of demand. There is a designed and manufacturable product, already tooled up.

Quoted from benheck:

Sorry but there's no way it hasn't expired by now. Also proving ability to manufacture is required now which they've also failed at.
This is like a dog with 3 broken legs. Might still be alive but best to put a bullet in its head.

DP would have had a much bigger company than ARA on them if they weren’t clean (or cleanish) in Universal’s view. My main point is that the gofundme is based off of stolen IP, which is not legal, but also tacky AF.

What do the non-EAs think about the chances of this coming out in 2019?

Quoted from drfrightner:

I don't think ANYONE is going to pay $45k that just isn't going to happen. I have the game and if someone wants to pay me $40k SOLD! LOL
How much do you realistically think someone would pay?

According to the ad it is from Denmark, which makes it a one of one edition from when Dutch Pinball was in Denmark and not the Netherlands.

If you are going to put up a premium ad going for a skim price, don’t bone up the basic facts. As Walter would say, “Bleeping Amateurs!” Geography ain’t that hard.

I would be in for a NIB at $10k to $12.5k with a 10-15% non-refundable deposit and a sub 1 year delivery time, in case anyone in this thread is doing actual market research.

#10505 3 months ago
Quoted from stevevt:

I don't know what to say about this.

I'm totally for non-refundable partial deposits, with a product delivery window clause. Partial deposits get assembly lines moving faster, while full deposits remove the hustle incentive from the upstart manufacturer. That's what we had in this case, as full deposits created a pile of money that wasn't managed well. Partial deposits make upstarts hustle to complete games, because they get paid on completion. The games rolling off first have to have good quality, because we'll document all of it.

Separately, we could debate if DP deserves this third/fourth chance. But, non-refundable partial deposits ensure both parties are motivated to get the transaction completed positively. It separates tire kickers from real buyers if there's $1,000 at stake.
