I sure hope so

Good. Try to get as much bowling balls as possible (my favorite skillshot with holding up right flipper at ball launch) as these double jackpots for the lit character. I always pick Dude as first as this is also the super jackpot shot.

Than keep your mark it zero lit to be able to abort character multiball when you start it befor you have collected all the characters. Try also to increase evenly the character shots so they get lit quickly after each other. This all to start only when all characters are lit.

If you do a decent 5 character multiball With the bowling balls lit you see the points rack up quickly.

Go for it

Not to be too flippant, but Barry is trying to build a few games a month, let alone multiple aprons that are game dependant. Although, that might not be a bad Idea for DP to put this out there, if not to make a new shiny something to distract.

May I show off my custom TBL topper?

It´s using two LED strips which can be individually controlled by an Arduino. The video just shows a few ideas what could be done with them. I haven´t yet decided what lightshow I want to put on. It would also be nice to tie the lightshow to the gameplay (like flashers, coils etc.) but I haven´t explored that either. Lack of documentation doesn´t make that particularly easy.
There are also two white flashers to illuminate the bowling pin.

Let me know if you like it or you think it´s a piece of crap.

That looks pretty awesome if you ask me. I like the very first effect the most.

Does anyone else get a lot of rejected shots / roll backs on the upper playfield loop? I just watched Rensh video linked earlier in the thread and he makes it look so easy - whereas I get a ton of roll backs even with the upper flipper coil at the highest strength. Wondering if there is anything I can do to tweak the shot. as consistent roll backs on clean shots gets frustrating.

I thought there was a post about flipper coil strength and miss wiring that happened. Ask Rensh

I posted it in the owners club and maintenance thread. So check this and hopefully this will solve your issue. If it is misswired it means the hold coil is used for flipper which isn’t as powerful as the power coil.

Thanks Rensh, really appreciate it! Time to bust out the soldering iron.

As an aside - what level does everyone have their machine at?

New NSL just hit the wire..

“A lot has happened since we sent our last official update. Not only a lot has changed at Dutch Pinball, but the World itself has changed quite a bit in the last few months due to the Covid19 outbreak. Firstly and most importantly we hope you and your family are safe and well in these extraordinary times.

Production continues at Dutch Pinball
Despite the Covid19 outbreak we are still able to keep building new games. Fortunately, the measures in The Netherlands allow us to work albeit with strict rules on social distancing. We currently benefit from not being a large company yet. Dutch Pinball currently consists of four full time employees. The 5th employee starts this week: Tara, Barry's daughter, will join our team!

First Early Achiever games have shipped!
We are very excited to inform you that we have started shipping new EA games to our customers! Right now, one of every four games we build, will go to an Early Achiever. Delivering all EA's is the main goal of Dutch Pinball and we're sure we will succeed in doing this. We can't thank you enough for your incredible patience and believe that we are pulling this off. We also appreciate all the nice emails we received with continuous support for Dutch Pinball, even in times when the future did not look good.

All EA games will be equiped with the - limited only for Early Achievers - Achiever Edition Apron:

Below the apron is a circuit board with LED's that illuminate the apron in a way that is unique for a pinball machine: it interacts with the light show of the game. In future updates we will also make it interact during gameplay.

Looking forward
In recent months we have spent a lot of time to manufacture the game as efficient as possible. We also spent a lot of time developing and setting up our warehouse and our own ERP system, specifically for manufacturing pinball machines. We are now almost at the level that we believe is the best way to build, test, and ship our games.

We also started working with companies that supply sub assemblies so that we can build even faster. In the coming months, we will continue to outsource the production of 'simple' sub assemblies to qualified companies. Of course we will continue to do the most difficult parts ourselves: assembling the playfield and the final assembly of the entire machine.

Here are some random photos we took in the last few months, just for fun : )

We hope you appreciated and enjoyed this update. We'll send out more updates as soon as we have more 'new shit' to show you guys!

Until then, stay tuned.

Best regards,
Team Dutch Pinball“

Dang that Achiever apron looks damn cool. I'm still waiting for my call from Melissa so I can send my check and be 1/3 of an EA getting their game!

Are any these EA games original money or new money from an already invested EA???

Yeah Apron is Very Cool!
DP, I think will be selling lighted Aprons separately.. Minus the Achiever Edition Cut out.

Currently the apron interacts in attract mode, and is on during play. With further code updates it will interact with the game more

I think price is €595

Lights fade in and out of different stars when in play. Really well done, it will only get better.

It’s as good as a topper. Yeah the price is pretty steep, but you can actually see what it’s doing whilst playing, toppers not so much.. it’s quite mesmerising actually.

Mark my words, Stern will copy this idea within the next few titles!

It looks great but for another $800, I'll likely pass. I was struggling to justify when I expected it to be $300-400.
I'll add that when Stern copies it, they'll probably remove half the leds and replace the metal cut-out designs with plastics.

man... imagine if they put out that kind of update years ago... the saga would have differed so much.

#11830 3 years ago

Except this was not possible a few years ago.

Barry has a great game, one with a ton of features.

It has been a saga, with communication still poor, NSNL very few and far between, which is not good.

Barry just wants to build games, clear his debt To EA’s and, I think wants to move on and make DP a contender in the Pinball world..

I’m gonna sound like a Fan Boy, but if Barry can do this. With TBL.. I’m looking forward to DP next game. Which will hopefully be less of a drama!

Compared to the lame toppers that Stern is putting out for $400-$500, this seems tolerable to me. It's a lot of money, but in the context of a $12,500 game and given how cool it looks, I could see some people buying in. And if no one else buys one, it's still a nice little bonus for the EAs that have waited 4-5 years (and counting) for their games.

Last I looked... Barry today is same Barry from a few years ago.

What I saw was more focus on results and less focus on blowing smoke or finger pointing. Something old DP would spend all their energy on when it came to being dragged to the podium to say something.

Barry is still Barry. But “All the money’s gone and we’re trapped in never ending litigation with our contract manufacturer that would keep us from shipping games even if we had the money and parts to make them” doesn’t have quite the same ring to it.

Hard to describe the beauty of the EA apron until you see it in person. Built like a tank, looks like laser and steel, thick weight, quality. And the fading color dance is smoking hot and grooves with the theme. Integrated perfection. DP is clearly engineering from passion.

I think all EA that are getting a game are only because they bought a second one. That 1 in 4 is pretty misleading if so.
Has a single EA gotten a game without buying a second one?

I don’t think Nikonokin has received his yet, but as he posted above he’s been told the game is en route now. He’ll be the first EA to get a game since production restarted (other than those that bought another one, which of course doesn’t really count).

If DP is serious about the 1:4 ratio, and keeps up the pace of producing 4 games every 2 weeks, we should be seeing ~2 games a month going to EAs going forward. So we’ll know soon enough whether progress is being made on that front.

#11840 3 years ago

Hey that would be fantastic news if so.

I’m ready to buy again but definitely waiting to see if old money people start getting games first with out them buying a second game.

#11841 3 years ago

No 52 is on transport like more than a week or so I think. Current Corona times do influence shipping time but shouldn’t be long now.

Attached a picture of no 52 being loaded in the truck.

But you’ve bought two. My other friend that is an EA bought a second one too.

Quoted from Pdxmonkey:

Is 52 the first EA game who didn’t buy two?

Yes, that’s correct... from now on Old
Money EA games will be built on a ratio of 1:3 so EA’s will be made while.

I bought a second game, yes, and so did a few other EAs in high numbers because the wait would be long. I’ve had my game from around October last year..

We are not getting a game only because we bought a second one.

Barry is using True Serial production- this means that games are made and shipped to EA in number 52,53,54,55 etc, No skipping the line.

It pissed a lot of us EAs off that DP
1.) sold games to CT without offering us the chance to buy them first
2.) that new orders were being taken and games going out with no mention of how EA’s were going to get their games

Some EA’s came to an arrangement with DP that if we bought a second game and injected new money into DP

We would get our EA game now (instead of a standard) and then, when our turn in line came up we get a standard instead of EA version - basically swapping games round...

DP now has enough money to start producing EA games on ratio to new games and the games will start coming out in order of serial number

Does that make sense?

Yes, thanks for clarification. Glad to hear The EA line is started to shrink.

Hmmm, Paying $4000 U.S more for a game to fund the EA games (that so rightfully deserve to have in the first place of coarse).... it would be pretty cool to have a EA supporter apron.... just dreaming and drinking some late night brews
The "under achiever edition" apron perhaps?. lol, The EA apron is stunning.

Looking like Berry/dp just might pull this off. Very impressive, Keep up the fantastic accomplishments guys!! (Fist pump)

Quoted from Pinhead1982:

Wrong!
You are confusing yourself
It not really that hard to understand...

To be fair, There have been a lot of ins, a lot of outs, a lot of what-have-yous. Some of the confusion may be that the first EA is only just now receiving a game. While that’s not inconsistent with the statements DP made last year, if you heard about the plan to make EA games on a fixed ratio, or read DP’s statement that it hoped to ship the first EA game in “early 2020,” but haven’t been closely following the other breadcrumbs in this thread, you might reasonably wonder what’s going on.

Quoted from Pinhead1982:

from now on Old Money EA games will be built on a ratio of 1:3 so EA’s will be made while.

DP just announced it’s going to be a 1:4 ratio for the time being. Based on prior statements it sounds like DP aspires to get to 1:3 or even 1:2 in the future as production capacity and efficiencies increase.

Its not over till its over but I continue to hold a good thought for all of the EA's in getting their machines. I'm also hopeful for Barry because if he does good, everybody does good.
In the meantime, I'm enjoying the reduced noise level of amateur advice and insulting comments from drive-by Pinsiders to their fellow Pinsiders. A lot of apologies are due even at this still evolving time, but I doubt they will ever come.

They produce in batches of 4. Of these 4 pcs 1 pc will go to EA and 3 pcs to new sales. Is this a ratio of 1:3 or 1:4? Just how you interprete it I guess.

Do you say 3 new sales and 1 EA makes 1:3

Or

Do you say out of 4 machines 1 is going to an EA eg 1:4 ???

Regardless, 4 produced -> 1 to EA and 3 to new sales
