All games sold out pretty much instantly. I tried immediately and the 35 in the US were gone.
Quoted from cpr9999:Who said this DP?
This direct quote from a response from CT via email a two days ago two me:
CT was saying the games would have their EA plates removed (presumably with later information). That was information from last night.
Quoted from Pinhead1982:I’m disappointed that the EAs did not get first refusal to buy the games.. that would have least been right!
I would buy and then sell my game when/If my EA 105 was made
Those that bought from CT and Nitro did, per many previous threads.
Quoted from flynnibus:CT was saying the games would have their EA plates removed (presumably with later information). That was information from last night.
Not sure how you do this without unboxing each machine...and if you do that you can inspect them.
So is DP or CT now doing this. Big change.
Quoted from Concretehardt:From what I understand the Games will be unboxed, inspected and the number plates will be removed from the apron and saved for the EA’s when their games get built.
This would be contrary to what has been posted.
Quoted from flynnibus:CT was saying the games would have their EA plates removed (presumably with later information).
Will the plates then be mailed to the EAs as an additional FU from DP?
Quoted from benheck:I think DP ran out of money before the first 50 were even done. They probably told ARA "ship them and then more deposits will come in!" and ARA does, regrets it, and holds next batch hostage.
This explains why the cost to release next 40 isn't just the contracted cost, or the retail cost, but 4k ABOVE the retail cost. Think that's seed money to restart DP? Ha. It's probably to pay back what was owed on first batch.
This game is done. Not only is DP broke AF but the license probably expired years ago.
If anyone on this thread has ever experienced a supplier, contractor, or business linked to their own go bankrupt/enter liquidation, then they would see the logic in what Ben is saying. When companies like this have long periods where they have greater expenditure than revenue, they inevitably end up hurting a lot of innocent 3rd businesses and individuals. It's not nice and it's not fair. Because of that, I totally agree with Ben's opinion "It's probably to pay what is owed on the first batch", rather than DP seed money
Quoted from flynnibus:CT was saying the games would have their EA plates removed (presumably with later information). That was information from last night.
I checked back over last nights posts in this thread and that was not posted anywhere. Did I miss it? Where did you see this? Thx
DP is not getting $500k out of this sale.
Who is paying for shipping these machines? If they are really going to be here in 5-7 days after the paperwork is done, thats air freight, a ship takes WEEKS to get here and get through customs, etc. That airfreight for 40 boxes that each weigh 300lbs and take up 10 sf on a plane is going to be expensive.
That doesnt include shipping direct to your door...thats another 300-500 per unit.
Also, CT and Nitro are absolutely getting a cut here, they arent doing this out of the kindness of their hearts. The distro markup is probably at least 10%.
DP/ARA are probably getting closer to 8500-9000 per unit and the other funds are absorbed to markup and shipping and logistics.

What was the asking price for them from the distributors? If they sold out that fast they were under priced...
Quoted from TigerLaw:What was the asking price for them from the distributors? If they sold out that fast they were under priced...
From distributor not plural 12,500
Quoted from TigerLaw:What was the asking price for them from the distributors? If they sold out that fast they were under priced...
$12,500. includes freight in, freight to location, all import fees, fully insured.
Quoted from RTR:Wow, I didn't look at it like that, now I am so happy.
Ok kind of curious...... So does this action constitute the crow finally being eaten?? lol Pics please.

It's not from the forum - it was conversation with Melissa directly.
I still think its all a reach.. but that's what she was told.
Quoted from Yelobird:Ok kind of curious...... So does this action constitute the crow finally being eaten?? lol Pics please.
Regardless of whether RTR changes out his dead crow avatar or not, I'm thinking about changing my avatar to the following until I get my game:

Ok thanks.
Now DP is going to open each game and remove plates and then re-box. If true, great for new buyers - inspection and new numbers. Hold original numbers for EAs. Wait....Hope no damage is created in this process - more risk!
All this seems to good.
Hope for those “in” they get great games, so down the road we can enjoy them.

private hydrofoil from the EU to the east coast is 5-7 days.
Quoted from greenhornet:private hydrofoil from the EU to the east coast is 5-7 days.
The games are shipping DHL air to customers.

Whoosh right over your head lol.
Quoted from flynnibus:against shipping damage...
These are gonna be AS-IS
With no warranty and no support.

Seems to be a tactic to keep EA buyers hopeful. A poor, twist the knife tactic.
Quoted from Mitch:Whoosh right over your head lol.
Yeah, I got it. I wasn’t responding to the lame hydrofoil joke. I was responding to the earlier post about length of shipping via boat and how quickly people are suppose to receive games.

Then why did you quote it lol
Quoted from VividPsychosis:the post I quoted also had the earlier post response in it. Guess I clicked the wrong one. :shrugs:
Lol I'm just messing around.

35? Before, it was mentioned CT got 40. Where did the other 5 go?

Nitro in Canada

easy to understand the quick sell through at 12.5K on spec/likelihood that these may be the last TBLs ever made.
did kaneda get one so he can have an excuse for cancelling his JJP WWCF CE?
Quoted from MarkInc:What about the poor souls that got their machines delivered in pieces. I think there were at least 2 that got the forklift treatment. Are they getting anything?
Next question is how many TBL's can be made from all the parts left in the ARA unit and who will these games be proposed to ?
Hope the EAs get a shot at them
Quoted from greenhornet:did kaneda get one so he can have an excuse for cancelling his JJP WWCF CE?
He already stated that for all intents and purposes he was out on Wonka before this news broke. I don't know that he needs to find an excuse beyond what he has already said: poor/misguided use of assets. The musical that isn't.

Special K is a joke and knows pinball like i know Pokemon IMO , his taste and sayings mean little to most people in the hobby or am I wrong ?
"AM I WRONG !!??"
Quoted from drfrightner:People should celebrate that 40 more games will be out in the market, and should bring the price of these games down somewhat. You might see a few land in pincades another great thing. Most people in pinball can’t afford to pay 12500 for a damn game, but they can afford a few quarters to enjoy it. Getting 40 more machines in the market and the hopes of a few hundred more behind it should be a great day. This is really one of the greatest pins ever made, hidden away in some rich guys basement doesn’t give the pinball fanatics the opportunity to enjoy it. Based on this move more people will see the game, enjoy the game and maybe own one at some point. I’m stoked!!!
It's hard to celebrate when dozens of original buyers are going to lose thousands of dollars. Games that had been paid for either with a deposit or in full are now being sold to new buyers. I'm sure the new buyers will be happy with their games but it's important to remember that a lot of people are losing a ton of money on this game.
What would really suck, is if these get paid for when shipping is confirmed. Then the ship they are on sinks.

And then when it sinking it catches on fire also
Quoted from Mitch:And then when it sinking it catches on fire also
And a seagull poos on the floating wreckage...
Quoted from MPRAMONE:acid rain is gonna pour on new owners celebrating and showing their TBL unboxing parties , well from EAs it's expected at least and totally understandable
what if those owners are also EA's that were paid in full?
Quoted from Drewscruis:What would really suck, is if these get paid for when shipping is confirmed. Then the ship they are on sinks.
these are all insured for full value does anyone read this thread?

They should set up a market on predictit for whether kaneda will cancel his wonka.
Quoted from ToucanF16:Seriously?
That’s rediculous I agree ! Wishing any new pinball getting destroyed!!!whoever are the new buyers there just pinball guys having a chance to buy a game. It’s unfortunate for those who lost but a lesson learned
It’s a gamble putting up money on anything? A start up business, flipping house the list goes on . It’s all good when you pay 6k and sell it for $25k in the box a year later !!! No bad feelings towards any new buyers or Cointaker . They are great people to deal with .Gotta say the story behind all these games is quite amusing
Hopefully I can buy a rug ! Or translite !
Maybe CPR can do a mirrored version

When I bought my M3 I learned it takes about 7 days to get from Germany to east coast just FYI. That’s with stops at Nordic and England. Doesn’t take weeks to get overseas.
Quoted from wcbrandes:what if those owners are also EA's that were paid in full?
None of us EA's were even offered that option as far as I know. At least I wasn't and my game was #59.
Also unfortunate that $$$ buys special privileges so we'll likely never know who has been allowed to weasel their way into line for these.
Quoted from whitey:... Gotta say the story behind all these games is quite amusing
Yeah - a real laugh riot
So who was lucky enough to get these so we can shut down this preorder thread and start the “The Real Big Lebowski Club” thread? Want to see these puppies in action. So who gottem?
I’m sure many people will allow the EA’s to get a chance at those games. But it’s gonna cost them much more than 12,500. So I mean at that point would you even want to? Those games won’t have EA plaques. Personally, I’d never get rid of it, grail theme. But I foresee pinside and eBay on TBL’s in our near future.
