Quoted from Yelobird:

Ok thats definitely not a code issue thats just plain wrong wow. Go through the manual and adjust it. Fairly simple mech. I thought yours was just stuttering as it opens which I have seen but yours is just plain not working. Plus it looks like its pulling to far in. My guess is the switch is way off and its trying to close that contact.

Which "manual"????

Yesterday had my best game on my TBL so far, but still far, far, far away from "The Dude Abides" wizard mode (which isn´t implemented yet anyway) and also from Rensh´s fantastic highscore......
And for the first time saw all the Mark It Zero clips!!!!
And done without an Extraball because it´s so damn hard on TBL to get one.

Quoted from Rensh:

In order to get a score as high as possible do
1) only start character multiball after collecting all characters. Make sure you keep mark it zero lit as when you by accident shoot character multiball with not all characters lit you can cancel the start of multiball via ball launch button
2) gather the bowling balls ASAP and ster with dude. If you make a jackpot shot the value is higher when the bowling ball for that shot is lit.
3) shoot all jackpots to get super jackpot at Dude ramp. This super jackpot At dude ramp is also reason For selection that bowling ball as first. For me the skill shot is always the MPF.
4) and don’t forget ofcourse during playing to start some car modes, nihilist mode etc.
And yes, than some luck is needed ☺️ I did learn from Barry that indeed 43M is Quite high. Usually my games end somewhere in the twenties and also some evenings the game just kicks my butt. Do note I am not a tournament player and consider myself as average eg if I can do it you can do it to !!
In regard to extra ball. I don’t think it’s coded yet. I have seen it only twice i think and that was as a mystery award

Yes, that´s right, you can only get it via mystery award

I´m also no tournament player and only average. My biggest challenge is to keep multiball going for an extended time. Usually my mb´s on TBL end pretty fast, much faster than on other machines.
Can you explain why it´s so important to only start character mb after all characters are lit? I figured that I can start character multiball as soon as the corresponding bowling ball for that character is lit, so I get double jackpot values.
For me the mb´s with 2 balls are much easier than the 5 or 6 ball mb´s.

But if you start several characters at one time I believe I noticed that you first have to score all jackpots before you can start over again. So if you have Maude and Dude running and you score the Maude jackpot you cannot score Maude again until you also scored Dude. Am I wrong, am I wrong??

Quoted from ulmpharmd:

If you guys all wanted something like this, I could likely get them fabricated. I work on alot of projects with Matt from Back Alley Creations. Let me know, as we would need to know how many wanted these to determine price per unit and such...

I´d be interested, too

I just put my new lighted apron in my TBL and added my homegrown lighted topper at the same time.

Image_5 2020-06-04_20-26-54 (resized).jpegImage_5 2020-06-04_20-26-54 (resized).jpeg

It has an Arduino Nano to control the LED strips inside the letters and two 12V flashers that illuminate the bowling pin.
I´m drawing 12V (for the Nano and the flashers) and 5V (for the LED strips) directly from the TBL power supply.

Image_4 2020-06-04_20-26-54 (resized).jpegImage_4 2020-06-04_20-26-54 (resized).jpeg

A USB cable goes from the topper all the way to the coindoor so I can easily change the light show on the topper.
I´d love to make the topper interact with the game but there´s no documentation from DP on how to use the extension port.
So right now it´s only doing what I program it to be doing.

Since I already have a request from another TBL owner to build that same topper for him I wanted to check if there is any more interest in it. In that case I would order more of the parts to make the whole thing cheaper. I can´t give an exact cost of the piece but I would assume it´ll be somewhere in the range of 150 Euros plus shipping. Shipping (outside the EU) will add another 40 Euros because the damn thing is pretty heavy. I´ll try to make it as much plug´n´play as possible. Ideally you will only have to open the backglass and plug in one cable.
Also you can choose what bowling pin you want in the topper. I´m actually not sure if can still get that golden one I´ve used, but the classic white/red or white/blue will certainly look just as nice.
Please send pm if interested.

Based on feedback from some folks who I´ve also built this topper for the topper has evolved a little bit over the initial version. It´s now covering the full width of the backbox. The 8 different lightshows that are implemented can now be selected and configured (speed, colors, directions etc.) via a remote control. A random mode is also implemented.
It also got some more gimmicks like the In'n'Out Burger sign, the Cannabis leaves and the Folger´s Can. The large text on top can be placed left, middle and right with the holes for the mounting bolts already there. To prevent an accidental desaster when folding the BB forward the topper is secured by two steel brackets to the back of the BB.

I could imagine building a few more if there´s any interest. But shipping that beast overseas will alone be 60 Euros due to the weight of it.
Inside Europe it´s a lot cheaper. PM me if you´re interested.

Thanks biglebowski !

You´re welcome
Those bowling pins to the left of the sign look great, too. Where did you get them?

Quoted from bemmett:

My biggest problem to date is the orbits both left and right. Get SDTM on them like 90% of the time which is really frustrating. I have tied bending the orbit lanes slightly but there is very little give especially on the left side. Do people have this problem or a better solution. Pretty frustrating as can't do skill shot on plunge cause that is instant death and I'm basically avoiding them during play where it will make a full orbit cause I know it's coming.

Hi @bemmett, I had the STDM issue on the Donny lane and I built a little "buffer" which can be 3D printed that goes between the scoop and the lane guide and bends the lane outward a bit. That solved the issue on the Donny lane for me. It´s the little gray block in the picture.

I can give you the STL if you send me a PM with your email address.

Quoted from bemmett:

I don't have a way to 3D print unfortunately. If anyone local has need/want to do some of these I'm all for it! So with doing that does it put the ball to the right flipper then?

I would print it for you but the shipping cost would be outrageous. I´ve sent you the model, hope you´ll find somebody who can print it for you.
It´s supposed to keep the ball on the left flipper bat.
