Quoted from mgpasman:Same problem here, I think it needs to be a bit more steep.
Somebody has some hints for optimal angles? Mine has the same issue. and just pushing the lane (with force) doesnt help.
Ball ends up exactly between the flippers. I could also bend it inward so it ends on the left flipper (not supposed to end up there)
So I was thinking of refixing it. I haven’t looked into how easy this is to reach the screws.
I’ve installed the 1.0 update (from .65) and once it was installed and I selected it from the menu it restarted and now I’m stuck in a boot loop.
It briefly shows the ‘loading’ text from the game and then the cycle restarts.
No menu, no game options that show and no lights on the game.
Anyone has any hints?
I have a TBL EA from the very first run (the batch of things that were bought from ARA). These playfields are silkscreened and have a very tough clearcoat. When these were all used Dutch pinball had no other option than to use the printed Mirco fields with the soft clear with his ‘ew’ manufacturing procedure where you can find many topics sboit in the forum. The colors are also slightly different but that’s not noticable unless you have them side by sude.
I already saw a picture of these pooling issues more than a year ago and you can easily spot if you have a newer printed Mirco playfield. Unscrew a starpost and if you see an imprint in the clearcoat it is obvious.
I can’t see any other solution other than what everybody already does with the JJP games.
Although I would not use bigger washers because it will slowly move the problem out.
I hope this info helps a bit.
Also Mirco. But in the past he had a different process. He also made the Hobbit playfield for example, which is very robust.
They say he went from screen printing to digital printing (faster??/cheaper??) and since he has the new equipment it is consistently problematic.
Either a weak clear and/or clear not well adhering to the print. And maybe a different clear coat material.
In any case I think that roughly the first 200 TBL games have the old fields, and from roughly 1.5-2 years ago it are the new fields.
100% sure that Toy story will get these issues too soon.
But if you dont play a lot and dont remove the posts you will not see it.
I think they made the clearcoat also thinner so that pooling is less noticable.
I’m sure if it was easy to switch manufacturer that both DP and JJP would already have done it.
The same goes for solving the problem. If it was super easy, Mirco would have fixed it.
It may be an issue that is linked to the production process and just can not be fixed ever the way he makes it.
In any case, Mirco denies having any problems (someone asked him about it during a presentation he gave on the TOTAN expansion kit). This certainly does not help solving it, he is apparently not aware of it or is not saying he is.
