Is there an option for buttons without holes? Sure, it's a bowling ball, but I'm not digging the way the holes look.

Quoted from Yelobird:I was actually proposing to illuminate the gap around the button in the black ring for a nice effect. Won’t be tearing mine apart but if Matt wants to share how he made it that’s his call.
I agree should be very doable. They make LED ring lights that may work perfectly
Maybe I was misinformed but mine lights up and looks amazing

Awesome! What did you end up using for illumination?
Quoted from dts:Awesome! What did you end up using for illumination?
I think the illumination is a standard part of this but the thought was the plastic would be to thick to get light through. Apparently not

Can you take few more of the lighted bowlin ball pictures of bowling ball - maybe one with overhead lights out to see how it lights.

Is DP starting to send them out finally?
I have an extra set of the Mod couple unbreakable pins for the lower playfield if anyone is interested SOLD. Still new in bag Normally 200 let me know if your interested
You can indeed light the bowling ball start button mod but the LED in the original start button isn't bright enough. The original single chip LED makes the mod very dim. However you can use a 4 chip LED which is plenty bright enough to light up the ball.
One issue: a #555 4-chip LED won't fit inside the button housing by default. There is a +1.65mm difference in the diameter between the original and brighter 4 chip bulb. I disassembled the white plastic button plate and used a 1/2" drill bit to widen the hole. The wider LED fits fine after some wiggling.
I found warm white LED looked better than cool white. Using an actual yellow LED looked very dim and bad. FYI, I'm using these LEDs: https://www.cometpinball.com/products/4smd-bulbs
Looks like the non-EA aprons will be coming in 3-4 weeks, from what Barry told me yesterday. They look pretty amazing, I’ll probably get one. My STLE lighted apron, while cool, looks primitive by comparison.

Yes, that’s the same LED that was in the original, I just swapped it over.
What's the verdict please guys?
Super happy with this title?
Quality looks sensational. Is it a really good fun game?
It's a great game, just got one. Has that 'just one more game' feeling.
I have a bit of an issue with the orbit going STDM though, so I am playing with levels.

Same problem here, I think it needs to be a bit more steep.

I certainly do not want to make any hard or fast recommendations, but at some point either earlier in this thread or in the maintenance thread the issues with the ball from the orbit going straight down the middle was talked about. When I first had the game I noticed the very same thing. I made a very slight adjustment to the metal guide on the right (just to the left of the right ramp). I pulled on the end of that metal guide just a little bit, ever so slightly, making a small adjustment, so that when the ball is coming around from left to right it goes straight to the left flipper. I never had a problem with SDTM since that adjustment. Hope that helps.

I did the opposite I bent mine in a tiny bit now it feeds the end of the right flipper like it was designed.
Quoted from adamross:Anyone have any clue on a code update? Is anyone even working on code??
We're expecting a code update to integrate the new apron with the game lighting sometime soon. As far as we know thats the only update right now
Quoted from noob-a-tron:What was the price getting one of these to OZ roughly.
Asked Barry- looks like $1000US to send
From US to Australia
**** DO YOU WANT IN ****
About to place an order of speaker lights at cost, assemble them for free to my adapter kit. You just need to pay for my adapter kit and cost of speaker lights. I will do assembly and create right power pig tale to plug into.
This makes them plug and play.
Get in NOW before I place the order in the morning. See pictures above or my Pinside ad for pictures. Also you save on $9 shipping as I will order a number led frames, etc. (FYI I am showing only 1 color, but you can setup/ change as needed).
After this you can order the adapter kit and light kit separate and perform the work as required.
Thx
Quoted from noob-a-tron:What was the price getting one of these to OZ roughly.
The price of the game is € 9.915 (excluding VAT) this is from Dutch Pinball which excludes shipping = $15,973ish AUD
The price of the game is $12,500 US from Coin taker which includes delivery from the US to Australia = $18,003ish AUD
Add import GST Tax to that and you have an extremely expensive box with lights.
Quoted from mgpasman:Same problem here, I think it needs to be a bit more steep.
Somebody has some hints for optimal angles? Mine has the same issue. and just pushing the lane (with force) doesnt help.
Ball ends up exactly between the flippers. I could also bend it inward so it ends on the left flipper (not supposed to end up there)
So I was thinking of refixing it. I haven’t looked into how easy this is to reach the screws.
Quoted from adamross:Anyone have any clue on a code update? Is anyone even working on code??
I certainly hope so. With so much content gold available to use that would Really prove this game is a top contender.

I just put my new lighted apron in my TBL and added my homegrown lighted topper at the same time.
Image_5 2020-06-04_20-26-54 (resized).jpeg
It has an Arduino Nano to control the LED strips inside the letters and two 12V flashers that illuminate the bowling pin.
I´m drawing 12V (for the Nano and the flashers) and 5V (for the LED strips) directly from the TBL power supply.
Image_4 2020-06-04_20-26-54 (resized).jpeg
A USB cable goes from the topper all the way to the coindoor so I can easily change the light show on the topper.
I´d love to make the topper interact with the game but there´s no documentation from DP on how to use the extension port.
So right now it´s only doing what I program it to be doing.
Quoted from Mitch:Is there anyway to disable the ramp diverter and have a virtual lock.
I love everything about the game bit the occasional ramp reject when lock is lit really suck as the ball drains SDTM. I have the clip mod at the top and I take it better but not 100%.
check that the ramp diverter doesn't have an burrs or anything that might be striking the ramp when retracted and making the whole ramp vibrate. maybe run coil test to see how much the ramp reacts to retraction
Quoted from Dkjimbo:I did a search and came up empty -
Does anyone know if Invisiglass from cointaker (says it fits stern games) will fit TBL? How about PDI glass?
Yes glass is all standard size
Anyone pick up a set of these from The Mod Couple? Not sure if upgrading the pins are even needed but wanted to ask...
Thanks,
Jeff

Since I already have a request from another TBL owner to build that same topper for him I wanted to check if there is any more interest in it. In that case I would order more of the parts to make the whole thing cheaper. I can´t give an exact cost of the piece but I would assume it´ll be somewhere in the range of 150 Euros plus shipping. Shipping (outside the EU) will add another 40 Euros because the damn thing is pretty heavy. I´ll try to make it as much plug´n´play as possible. Ideally you will only have to open the backglass and plug in one cable.
Also you can choose what bowling pin you want in the topper. I´m actually not sure if can still get that golden one I´ve used, but the classic white/red or white/blue will certainly look just as nice.
Please send pm if interested.
Still wondering if this game is worth the current price.
Never played it and the gameplay/code is king for me.
So, In this department, is this game similar to B/W or recent game (stern, JJP)?
I would appreciate some inputs.
Thanks

Not necessary a bad thing but I was more talking about depth rules.
Shallow rules. If you want deep go elsewhere, code is only at .62. It's all about theme integration which is phenomenal.

We have 2 games in common, alien and JP. I also had GB.
How could you compare these games with TBL in the depth rules department? Could TBL get the potential to get equal to these games?
Thanks
