This seems out-of-line and not needed. Pins are expensive. Simple as that. And, while luxury items, they are nice to have and many would like to acquire them. Yet to insinuate that someone is poor just because is not necessary. For myself, I am a professor and will most likely never be able to comfortable afford pins with the teaching salary I make even though I went to college for a very long time to get my advanced degree(s). This was the path I ended up taking and I do not bemoan it, yet to call someone poor is not fair nor may it be accurate.
