My best deal was a decent game show for 800$
I've never bought just a single pinball, but I've gotten 5 pack tubes for $6 from Marco before, and I'd say that's a pretty good price.
Gottlieb SPIRIT for $200 Canadian. No shit.
That would have been $140 US dollars at the time too. About 12 years ago.
Seller didn't know what it was. Admittedly I didn't either. I just wanted a System 80 game - any game - because I was good at getting them going at the time.
Still have it to this day.
"The best price you bought a pinball for"
Gotten a ton of them for free, condition all over the place.
Silverjets are pretty nice from what I hear. Three bucks each though...
I still have my $500 Black Hole. Was dirty and non-working, but it was a fun project, and great playing game.
Dont know if its cheap, but for me it felt good since I had been looking for it; Got a WipeOut for 480 $. Unfortunately I couldnt find what component on one of the sound board was screwed, so ended up buying two new boards for 240 $
Still it was a good buy, price-wise here in Norway!
Recently got a Mousin Around for $0, plus $200 bucks in van rental / gas and 12 hours of round-trip drive time.
Don't know how much it will cost in parts, labor, material, and tools by the time it's running though.
I've gotten a few good deals in the last new year. These were the best:
HUO Corvette for $1500.
A nice Last Action Hero for $750
HUO NASCAR for $1500
Went to pick up a complete, non-working Paragon for $100. As I was packing it up, the seller said, 'Oh yeah, I forgot I had bought another one for parts. If you want that one too, just take it.' Yeah, I think I can work with that....
I'd post all my deals, but I'll just get some ahole with a memory calling me a flipper for selling it for more than I bought it for...
So let's just say I overpaid on all of them
Oooh price brag thread! I've got some good ones. Now some of these deals go back as far as 10 years so make of that what you will
Various EMs for free or close to it
CFTBL for $800 (bar was closing and I had an inside man)
Super nice TAF a couple years back for 2500
AFM for $2200 (6 or 7 years back)
WCS for $250 (last year!)
Big Guns for free (did pay a $200 finder's fee to the guy who let me know about it)
HUO TSPP $2000
NGG $1100 a couple years back
HUO pinbot for $500 (off CL 10 years back when only a couple people were scouring it daily)
Mint Cyclone from Broadway actress Sandy Duncan for $700
HUO Bobby Orr for free
Quoted from Atomicboy:
calling me a flipper
well, when you hold them, fix, them, and play them for a while that is really not a "flip"
"flippers" often have then sold and use the previous sellers pics just to avoid unwrapping the game.
$1000.00 for nine machines.
Space Invaders
Embryon
Haunted House
Black Knight
Silverball Mania
Firepower
Gorgar
Devil's Dare
Mr. & Mrs. Pac-Man
That comes out to $111 a piece. But that was many years ago.
$700. for a TZ. $300 for a Black Rose. $1900. for a NO Fear, Who Dunnit? and a HOOK. $600 for two Genesis machines. $400. for a High Speed. $350. for an F14. Some of these were fairly recent.
A few months ago, I scored Devil's Dare & Fathom as a package deal for EUR500 (close to $600). I was almost about to ditch the DD backbox on the border of the road as the two pins didn't fit in my car, and I thought there was only one machine for sale. I managed to get them back home, both are working now, and DD is a nice pin in the end
Earlier got a 8BD and Skateball for free, an AFM for EUR1600 (maybe $2000).
Cactus Canyon $1800
Scared Stiff $1600
WMS Indiana Jones $700
Those were the best deals I have come into
Those days long gone ...
I'll add a Free Strange Science (forgot about that one) but not sure if it counts as it was from a relative who was moving. Great shape too.
Game was pretty stupid with a bad layout but the overall package has it's charms.
My first pin was a Roadshow I picked up for $700 about 5 years ago . Cabinet fade and slight fish wear . Guy was moving so I bought his game room . I also purchased a sweet outrun , coke machine and a multicade for $600 total . Sold the multicade to my neighbor for $600 as soon as I got home .. Best deal I ever got !
Gottlieb Big Hurt for $550 was a pretty sweet deal. Starship Troopers for $1250. Stargate for $1500 wasn't bad because it's in really good shape. All needed very little work.

Yeah, but the line appears scattered for some on this, unless of course it's their sale.

Twilight Zone for 900 Canadian.
Quoted from ejacques:
Twilight Zone 15 years ago for $800.
Quoted from mcclad:
$700 for a TZ.
Darn! Now it looks like I overpaid when I bought my TZ for $1200 almost 20 years ago. I liked to buy them when they were only a couple years old so they wouldn't have much wear (and I could use the manual to just order whatever spare parts I wanted). Looks like I should have waited longer and picked one up on the cheap.
