Here is my vote for the best EM lineup of two machines. Rock solid fun and diversity.

What do you EM experts consider the best one-two/side by side/all things considered/EM lineup?

My two are safely out of danger while the pinball room is being constructed.

I’m no expert, but if I had a gun to my head and I can only keep two EMs on a desert island it would be Lucky Hand and either Solar City or Card Whiz

#3 3 months ago

Fireball is 100% on that list. As for the number 2 I'd go between Hot Tip, Abra Cadabra, Surfer, Sure Shot, and Jungle Queen... of course my views are heavily limited by what is available to play locally and what others have been kind enough to bring to shows. I seek out Sure Shot at every pinball show. Jungle Queen/Princess taught me that just because you can blow up a Stern, it doesn't mean you can blow up an E.M. Humbling experience at my First Allentown Tournament last year.

haha. I would have taken a photo of my Card Whiz too, but my daughter is babysitting it in her basement while the pinball room gets constructed.

I keep wishing they would have incorporated a spinner on that left side lane on Card Whiz! Would be so fun to rip the spinner up the left side to get the ball back up top to try for more jokers.

Yeah, except those 70's Gottlieb spinners would have turned about twice....and then stopped.

1.Centigrade 37
2.Super Spin

I can't stop staring at Fireball's cabinet artwork! I would love an old Jeep Willys CJ3B (1953 to 1968) with the Fireball paint job.

I've never played Centigrade 37 or Super Spin! So many great EMs I still need to experience.

Centigrade 37 looks awesome!
A lot of variance for an EM

My personal favorite EM 1-2 punch. The only 2 rare EMs I have and they just happen to be the most fun to play I think.

Gtb Bowling Queen & Gtb Bank a Ball.

#21 3 months ago

Currently Grand Prix and Royal Flush

#22 3 months ago

I would have to say WMS Heat Wave and Teacher's Pet,
But currently do not have Heat Wave with me anymore, so substitute GTB Team One or Dimension

#23 3 months ago

Heat Wave + Mystic Marvel for 2"

Mars Trek + Jacks Open/Lucky Hand for 3"

#24 3 months ago

Hot Tip, Target Alpha, and Countdown.

I have agree that would be a great pair.
I only have two EMs. I’m quite happy with them.

I think if you are putting them together as a pair. Not just two best individual games. You would be hard pressed to beat a Capt. Fantastic / Wizard combo. You have the Tommy connection with 2 completely different playfields. They are both Bally's from the same era with a theme that ties them together, while offering game play that is significantly different.

I’ve got a couple pairs I like.

Bally

Little Joe
Monte Carlo

Wizard!
Capt Fantastic

Fireball
4 Million BC

Gottlieb

Gemini
Strange World

Williams

Wild Card
Lucky Seven

#28 3 months ago

Hot Tip 100% for sure. Scientifically proven to be the best EM ever. I would love a Lucky Hand or Jacks Open too.

Hi pinsiders.
Here a couple i like.

Haha

Fireball, Capt Fantastic

#36 3 months ago

El Dorado is definitely on the list for one of the two. 2001 might be the second one. Lots of drop targets (since that's my thing) and small and large flippers for variety.

#37 3 months ago

I like these two.

One of my German Pinhead friends has this combo and for the reasons you mention it’s excellent.

#39 3 months ago

Actually, I have a few great duo's, but these two are great machines.

I've only ever played Gigi but yeah, a great and challenging game.

Volley and Abra Ca Dabra. Love the logic/ rules in these two .

Yeppers!

These were my two favorites as a yute, and the only two pins I own.
