Looks like it only has 5 songs on it as well. I figured that with the more basic layout, it would at least include a larger selection of songs from that era. Makes me wonder if the songs had to be individually licensed above and beyond the theme.
To be fair, it really does capture the essence of the Beatlemania era and the massive amounts of branding and memorabilia, etc. at the time. Chris Franchi did a wonderful job on the likenesses and his portion of it. I feel like if this had been one model of a few that captured the various eras of the Beatles' history, then this would be considered on-point for this era.
It is definitely a shame that the theme doesn't capture so much of the other great music and history of the band.
Rumor has it that they only had a choice between the Beatlemania era or Yellow Submarine and went with this since it at least featured the band's likenesses, the classic logo, etc. Makes sense if those are the only two choices, even though Yellow Submarine is certainly visually interesting in its own way.
As someone pointed out earlier, if this had been art directed similarly to Beatles Rock Band, then I think it would have been much better received.
