Shame there is no pro for this title.

Would have been cool if the whole game was in black and white.

Joe did say this game has a 'classic' feel so guessing it is going to have many retro features.

I did wonder if the licence was for one of the movies -

Help?

Hard Day's Night?

#23 5 years ago

So, 30 SLE?

Changing to 80 if there is demand?

Quoted from PinMonk:

What if they only target the home market and not locations?

It is home market only.

Don't think it will even have a coin mech.....

#181 5 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

Which is crazy.

Was part of the licensing terms allegedly.

#201 5 years ago

Listening to the podcast a while back, I get the feeling there is a set number of games and that is it.... forever.

It's a big ticket collectable for those who want something truly limited.

#207 5 years ago
Quoted from DS_Nadine:

Looking at TWIP, is the Beatles = Seawitch "leak" now official?!
Can't quite believe it.
But if so, it's definately no 'cornerstone' game, so 3 more games in 2019 (Elvira 3, Steve Ritchie, Brian Eddy) no problem.

This is a one off boutique game so it is going to be unlike any other 'normal ' game.

Very limited run, high prices, no coin mech's, no pro's, not going on location etc etc

This one really is for 'collector's as opposed to 'player's.

That's my take of all the info that is already out there.

#244 5 years ago
Quoted from PanzerFreak:

That along with the "It is very classic pinball" comment from the TWIP interview makes it sound like an EM type game.

Well, will be interesting to see how much they tweak this layout.

In other news, the price of original Seawitch just shot up in value.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

I pulled the exact same act during the Supreme rollout when you idiots were all melting down over that.
And the Dark Night for Stern doozy.
Let me know when I actually turn out to be wrong.

Note that I didn't say you were wrong

#794 5 years ago

Very curious to see if pricing is anything like those early rumors.

The BOM must have been a lot lower than any other game.

Even if it's true the licence cost $1 million, that only adds $509 to each game.

Stern are going to make a lot of money on this game, even if they pitch it at regular LE, Premium and Pro pricing.

Going to be fun watching this story unfold.

#884 5 years ago

Maybe if songs aren't full length, it's because ball times will be super short?

Like on Seawitch???

#911 5 years ago

Why no picture of the LCD?

Looks like it was cropped out?

Is there definitely an LCD?

#931 5 years ago

Call outs sounded similar to guy who did them on RS?

#1383 5 years ago

So, Gold at $7500.

Diamond, Platinum at distributor discretion?

Only differences are artwork?

Can't help thinking the Diamond and Platinum are a sleight of hand.

#1715 5 years ago

So, another way of using up the WWE trim?

#1745 5 years ago

I definitely prefer the backglass art on the pro, compared to Platinum and Diamond.

#1882 5 years ago

I am still in the camp that I think this game will be a blast to play.

So, I hope a friend buys one

#1979 5 years ago
Quoted from Whysnow:

sorry, rarely keep up with podcasts. I though it "could have a coin door" was the quote someone else said?
Also, FULL songs or GTFO! more than 30 seconds = 31 seconds for these salesmen.

He kind of gave the impression that why should it matter if the songs aren't full length,, as long as well integrated.

I took that to mean that most, if not all songs are not full length.

Still, price is everything for this release.

#2028 5 years ago

What?

No WWE trim?

Color me disappointed

Gold trim looks much better than early photos.

Now for price??

#2029 5 years ago

Keith just confirmed there is code for coinage.

#2052 5 years ago

So, game is officially released but no prices?

Why?

Just talked to a distributor and they don't know prices either.

Strange.

#2086 5 years ago

If Gold is anywhere around $7999 ouch.

#2133 5 years ago

http://www.pinballs.com

https://gameexchange.biz/products/beatles-beatlemania-pinball

https://www.gameroomguys.com/games/pinball?game-model=The-Beatles

Seems like $7999 is Gold price as all these guys have it all listed as this.

As for other editions.... how much do you wish to pay sir??

#2151 5 years ago

Has anybody got firm pricing from a dealer - Diamond/Platinum?

#2196 5 years ago

If I were going to buy a Diamond or Platinum, this secretive pricing would have put me right off.

#2450 5 years ago
Quoted from Rensh:

Spoke with a local distributor this weekend and what did I learn
1) stern is sold out of all Beatles. Ofcourse to distributors so still available to purchase by customers.
2) pricing is approx 8-25-50KEUR. Pls note this includes a 21%VAT
3) he already sold 4 Golds. All to pinheads
4) indeed main distributors have to buy in packages of 10
25-50KEUR........

It's collecting insanity!

Diamond looks the worst of the 3 but it's 'rare' so worth paying the extra for

At those prices you could put a Gold in 6 different rooms in your house or have one Diamond that is virtually the same!!

Anyway, Stern sold out so they do know their market and they must have made a fortune on this run, which is good news as hopefully this will mean better games going forward.

Reading pinball magazine number 5, even back in the 50's when Gottlieb were in their zenith, there was always a guy ( accountant ) who wanted to take stuff out of games, whereas the designer ( Wayne Neyens ) , wanted to put stuff in.

Not a lot has changed!

No, he's not nuts RD, he's had a true pinball conversion experience.
It's a pinball miracle!
He's finally seen the light.
Welcome Iceman to the Beatles Pinball Church.
Your sins are forgiven. [quoted image]

LOL.

Iceman then - 'no way I am buying this over-priced cash grab'.

Iceman now - 'just saw video, it's shiny, new, bright, and has lots of trippy colors on the LCD'.

'Must buy now! '

Gary - 'don't like to tell you all that I told ya so'

Sweet!
I was saving this for a Queen thread but may as well bust it out given my general view of Pinside's BOM and pinball industry experts...

I was in disbelief you posted a gif

The score reels are simulated on the LCD. So, how come all the numbers don't all line up? Number 6 bottom left is too high?

Is it done deliberately to look like the rat trap reels that hardly ever line up right?!

#2866 5 years ago
Quoted from DCFAN:

I did not realize that the cabinet sits much lower than a traditional modern Stern game.

Sure will mess up the OCD line up's

Quoted from Whysnow:

If you are going to extrapolate, please at least use real data instead of made up numbers to push your agenda.
2 weeks ago there were only 2 vendors on pinside selling, last week there were 4, this week there are 9
Sorry I dont have screenshots of the previous weeks but here is current showing 9
https://pinside.com/pinball/machine/stern-the-beatles/market
The number looking to sell a pin "not meant for pinhead" on the #1 pinball forum is a great data point and it makes it pretty clear that more people are trying to sell now and looking for ANY customers (even ones not in their supposed demographic for this title).
Simply put, people have gotten tired of dealing with distributors masquerading as Pinheads to hype games on here (i.e. FUN) and then they tell lies like "this is limited" and "only 800 in US" "buy now or miss out", only to have people turn around and re spout the falsehoods as fact.

Seems plenty think this reskin looks fun to play, obs cool theme, and nice art package and code, but all have been clear the price is BS and a money grab. It is rightly a kick in the junk for any passionate pinhead that likes the beatles, older style games, etc... to not only have the huge pricepoint but then all the false hype around here.
Between you, Levi, and hasslecassle... these should have been long gone the first day they were available (just like every real LE of a good theme that Stern has done in the past 5 years)
Instead the facts we know to be true:
-Only the first ~964 are bring produced at this time and were sold as 10 packs to distributors. The remaining portion of the edition is supposedly made sometime in 2019 when there is demand (if? there is demand).
-Beatles store which markets to the demographic target for this pin sold its first 10 pack quickly, but now has only sold 2 golds out of the 2nd ten pack and sales have slowed. Worth note that the Prem and LE versions were also sold for 10k on Beatles store.
-Distributors are now marketing more specifically to pinheads since the game is not selling as well as predicted to Beatles maniacs. Call any distributor that bought a 10 pack and they have stock on hand currently. I dont remember the last 'limited' game where this has happened 2 plus weeks post on sale and typically most of a hot game the limiteds are sold out the first day.
[quoted image]

Bottom line is that price is too high for 95% of pinheads to even consider this game.

Does look fun but not $7999 fun.

#3052 5 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Man this thread is turning into a runaway sewer of fake data punctuated by a detour into dimple
Land. I love it!
Let me add my own fake data point: pretty sure that greater than 5 percent of
The people in this actual thread have either bought Beatles or are “considering it.”
My made up data beats your 95 percent.

Yeah, 95% was crazy talk.

Should have been 92.5%

Quoted from snaroff:

Thanks for the support! The downvotes are absurd/childish.
I purchased my first Pinstadium's 1-2 months ago...the photos speak for themselves. For years, I've been doing my own custom spotlight additions. Pinstadium is a better solution. If I could, I'd trade every sheet of non-glare glass for Pinstadium's since they do a better job removing glare.
IMDN and Beatles are poorly lit...especially if you enjoy playing in a dark room. Photos speak for themselves, and to be honest, the difference is more stunning in person. My wife, a non-pinballer was shocked by the difference to our Beatles.
snaroff

Not true in all games though.

The zebra stripes on Iron Maiden and other games are awful.

But, each to their own.

This great game keeps getting better. Those that have played it know.
Haters gonna hate

Why do people keep quoting Taylor Swift?
