Lol. You should go for a PR job at Stern.

#2052 2 years ago

So, game is officially released but no prices?

Why?

Just talked to a distributor and they don't know prices either.

Strange.

#2053 2 years ago

Wow, literally the only differences are trim color and cab artwork... and I guess the mirrored backglass for the fanciest one. Can't image ponying up the cash for anything besides the gold.

#2054 2 years ago
Quoted from Whysnow:

I like the look.
If ANY distributor is reading and has one for normal SternPRO pricing then I am interested. I know rumors are 7k plus, but rumors are also that distributors buying a 10 pack are able to set any pricing structure they want. I foresee that there are big spenders willing to pay high dollar for the Diamond and PLatinum, but good shot that golds will be sitting at the current asking prices. If you want to reach out, you know how to find me. Willing to sign NDA and not disclose price or your info so nobody gets in trouble with big papa.
I have games for possible trade or straight cash.

Distro pays 7k, sells to you for $5600 at a $1400 loss just because they like you that much.

Hey, I'd like to throw out there that if ANY distros (sorry guys, my big city NYC alpha male life is just so damn happening I got no time to type out "distributors" in full) want to sell me a Beatles - ANY VERSION - for the 2002 regular Stern pro pricing of around $3,800, I'm in. If you want to reach out, you know how to find me. Willing to sign NDA and not disclose price or your info so nobody gets in trouble with big papa.

LMFAO.

Quoted from Psw757:

I agree and the rules look good as well, 4 ball multi ball will be interesting!

Is there room for 4-ball multi on a Seawitch layout? What are the other 3 balls doing during MB mode? Slamming into each other off the flips?

Well that's just like, your opinion man.

Distro pays 70k for 1 Diamond, 2 Platinum, 7 Golds.

Say the goal is to make a $1000 on each machine. He sells the Diamond for $16k, the Platinums for $12k that leaves the cost of the Golds at $4700.

So he could sell the Golds at $5700 each and still make his goal.

Don't know what the typical profit is for a distributor but $1000/game sounds pretty good to me.

Would you pay an extra $1000 for the Diamond? I think the Diamond and Platinum will find their price and enough people would pay a few thousand dollars more just to say they have the rare edition even if it doesn't have anything 'better' than the Gold. Without stating a price, how can anyone say they wouldn't pay the extra? I'd definitely pay $5 over the Gold price for a Platinum. Who knows... they might have to sell the Platinum and Diamond at a discount if no one wants them...

nah, I look at it like..

Distro pays $70k for a 10 pack. Sells Diamond for 20k, sells 2 platinum for 10k, and is only able to sell 3 golds for 7k each.

That means they are sitting 9k in the hole and have 4 golds left. If they want to just sell one for normal Stern pricing out of the gate, then I am interested.

I am not sure why this is hard for some to understand. I like the theme and look of the game, but not for a penny over normal Pro pricing. Just making it clear that if distributors are looking for an easy hassle free sale, then I am tossing my name out there.

Hell, they may even earn my business on future purchases.

I have played both F-14 and Centaur and I can confirm that a 4 (or 5!) ball multiball is possible on a single-level pinball layout.

The costs of the game are the same if you buy 1 gold or a 10 pack which are the only 2 ways you can buy a game. Distro's normally also make a lot less then that per game so I'm sure they are going to make as much as they can while they can just like any sane person would.

I don't think either of you get it. But keep dreaming.

Wich is the same price Stern PR told a week ago.

#2070 2 years ago

Translite & side art are basically just swapped on the gold vs. platinum packages (with minor changes to fit the different format sizes, obviously). Not a knock on Franchi at all; there are only so many ways to arrange four dudes and a logo in three different art packages.

Of course they will. As always, supply and demand. I'm just saying there seems to be plenty of meat on the bone for the distributor with the pricing structure on this game.

If they can sell the Diamonds and Platinums at high prices, it gives them plenty of room to move the Golds and still make a hefty profit.

They should missed a perfect Beatles song for the demo.

That's not a Beatles song, it's a cover. "Can't Buy Me Love" works here for your purposes!!!

It’s a cover song would this be a cover pin?

Would you pay an extra $1000 for the Diamond?

Sure, value would hold up better than the gold (being super limited) and mirrored backglasses rule. Any distros wanna sell me the diamond for $8500? Didn't think so

Who was paying $3800 in 2002? That is crazy, now that has NDA has expired, my "guy" was selling for $3500!

807 golds, 125 platinum and 50 diamond for the North American market. Other than Supreme, can’t think of too many other machines that are truly this limited.

#2082 2 years ago

Cool looking pin

Not cool price

Would have been nice to differentiate higher priced models with more/different songs

F-14 has wireform ramps Skipper...so many that they almost obstruct the entire upper playfield

Will be interesting to see how much the distributors can get for the LE games given so little difference.

Quoted from Whysnow:

Gary yesterday is on the record saying the typical stern release is 3-4x as many built as this title. I take that with a grain of salt though,

I agree with you on spooky, not sure how many tna they are making but some of the stern pre/le are in pretty large numbers like ac/dc,Met,gb etc... and still going. If pinside is really only like 30% of the entire pinball community like so many of the pundits here repeatedly argue, that means there are probably 1500+ Metallica’s out there for example

#2090 2 years ago

That was fast.....Looks like the Diamond edition has already sold out.

There’s a whole other thread about truly “rare” or “limited” production games, with much lower numbers than 1,964. Many of which I would rather have than this one.

And to be honest, nearly 2000 games isn’t a small number.

Depends on how many that store was given as an allotment. Distributors who ordered the 10 pack might not be hard to find.

Or make good money on The Beatles, continue to make the same as usual on other releases, and not deal with crazy people's shit.

Agreed.

This was on The Beatles store site so I assume that they were allotted more than most, but who knows?

Don't you already have a distributor that's regularly hooking you up with NIB Sterns at hundreds less than what everyone else reports paying for them? Why not give that guy your Beatles business?
