Quoted from Psw757:Lol! My sentiments are buy it or don’t buy it, who gives a shit already? I’m buying one.
Someone needs to start the club thread already so we can have substantive discussion.
lets file that thread under "who cares" as well
Quoted from CrazyLevi:And yet on KaPow.com or whatever...nothing! It’s so sad!!!!
You'll get over it.
Hoping there will be a Dead Flip twitch stream for this machine in the next few days. Who knows? It might just turn out to be a fantastic tournament machine.
Excited to see this game in real time. I think the teaser video was great for non pinball players. I want to see this thing opened up and see what she can really do. Should be this week.
Distributor I ordered with said these babies are rolling out in the US within 2 weeks. They have been ready for a little while.

Maybe they were hidden in the 350 or so games that were boxed up that I saw during the tour.

Almost as if price plays a factor!

Now that you mention it, there is a big loud ring that does sound like "sour grapes".
We interviewed Joe Kaminkow for Head2head pinball podcast ep 68.

Will Beatles have a coin door?
Will the full songs be in there?

It's a pretty short interview for our standards. It starts 9:30 minutes

There’s a lot of
“This food is terrible. And such small portions!!!”
As well.
Just for grins, when I get home I am going to pull the glass on my Seawitch, cradle two balls on the left flipper, shoot a third ball, and see what a multi-ball Seawitch plays like.

Listened with an open mind. Nothing changed for me...

"Approved by Yoko" did I hear that correct? I also thought I heard the term "affordable" which was interesting, it what way? Also the odd comment about no multiball but you include magnets, both of which had been done before 1964 but were not common at that time of course.
I'm coming around to the thought that this title isn't for Pinside members or the typical pinball machine owner for that matter. Clearly someone thought they could make a few bucks off the rabid but declining Beatles fan base (while investing as little as possible in the hardware) and I wish them all the best luck in this endeavor.

I heard approval was needed from "PRAY"===Paul, Ringo, Olivia (Harrison), and Yoko (Lennon). Survivors rights, I am guessing.
It is a foolish, short lived, business that does not make its product affordable to its target market.

Imagine that.

Imagine there's no Pinside
It isn't hard to do
No whining about Kapow's website
And no color bombing too
Imagine all the pinheads
Not complaining about everything under the sun
Woo-hooo-ooo
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
Maybe some day, you'll join us
And you'll stop bitching, and have some fun

I got more!

It's easy if you try
no pointless competition
and only dream themes to buy

For the life of me, I just cannot comprehend why Stern would want to produce a play field that is single level when the world of multi-level play fields with hoops, and loops, and ramps is such a wide open and unexplored area of pinball. I mean, add several ramps and loops and Stern could own the pinball world with new and innovative ramps and toys galore. A new paradigm, if you will

In that interview, Joe said he wanted a single level playfield for the simplicity that a Beatles Collector could simply walk up and play the game.
He wanted a game that looked like it could have come from 1964
It was almost a Galaxy clone instead of Seawitch.
Quoted from J85M:Anyone got any idea if the spinning disc in Beatles is the same mech as in X-Men?
Need replacement parts?

Very informative podcast. I understand the decisions they made on this game.
"This stuff's not being made in China...it's damn expensive."
Joe might want to check the BoM on the power supply origin and work his way down from there. Plenty of China in the machine.
He sounds very defensive though most of the podcast.
Pricing sounds like the action figure model. Buy a case and you get 1 rare one and 2 kinda rare and the other 9 common versions. We do not need more of this model in pinball.
For $25,000 and $12,500, Distributors better start advertising these games on geriatric caviar and kopi luwak monkey poop coffee ordering websites. They need to reach their audience.
The other 1,614 games can advertise here.

Like always, about 1/2 of Stern's production goes overseas, so does anyone doubt that 1000 of these games won't be sold in the States in a few weeks?
Kids are going to start bootlegging them, like every "vintage" guitar on CL
I have zero doubt that the 800 or so golds slated for the domestic market won’t sell out pretty quickly.

Question- How popular is The Beatles overseas? I'd imagine some markets would have close to zero interest. Star Wars might have fairly equal appeal world wide for one example but The Beatles might only be a seller in the US and UK. And I'm guessing about the UK.
Where are the fans located is the million dollar question.
Quoted from DS_Nadine:Need replacement parts?
Just curious as the magnet in X-Men was pretty cool, might add some nice gameplay to this pin.

World.
The Beatles were the first western Band to play at the Japanese Budokan.

(Oh, and that started the beginning of the end. Thanks Yoko!)
Properties that about noone cares for overseas:
WWE, Mustang, Big Buck Hunter...

Obviously Beatles are super popular in Germany.
Very popular in Russia.

LMAO I wonder why. Probably doesn't have anything to do with the fact that pinside has pounced on this project like it's a seal with a propeller wound in a shark tank?
Hey did he address the biggest controversy of all about this project, his neglected website?
Screw it I'll find out myself and actually listen to a podcast for once. Sounds interesting.

Uhhh...there are many fans all over Eastern and Western Europe and well as AU. Not sure about Asia and South America but the Stones are huge in South America and I believe McCartney has toured a good bit there so I would venture the Beatles are popular as well.

He did not address his neglected website, but that's more an issue with the interviewers not bringing it up (likely for fear of a total meltdown given his defensive posture throughout).
Stern has had projects received badly, but I've never heard them freak out on a podcast and get very churlish. Joe is in that zone. Not the best way to sell a struggling project.
Quoted from tamoore:He did say you "can" put a coin door on it, if you want.
Yeah, I noticed that too. We'll see what ships.
Quoted from tamoore:He did say you "can" put a coin door on it, if you want.
He also says it has speech from all four beatles.
He also tells everybody to get a life and lighten up.
And he also employs a terrible cargument.
So pretty much what I expected. Thanks for the interview mates!
Quoted from CrazyLevi:pinside has pounced on this project like it's a seal with a propeller wound in a shark tank?
but I thought Pinside is not even remotely indicative of the greater pinball population???
now I am really confused.

I'm not sure how you people want him to react. YOU make it personal. You troll these guys endlessly.
Look at your language. "struggling product" lol
Do you realize how dumb that looks? Every one of your posts about this is laced with nonsense like that.
Multiply it by about 100. You guys want a reaction. So you got one. And now THAT is an irritant?
Take Joe's advice. Lighten up.
Quoted from Whysnow:but I thought Pinside is not even remotely indicative of the greater pinball population???

It's indicative of Pinside. Which is what he's addressing.
You are so bad at this HIlton. If you are confused it's because logic isn't really your thing.
