Quoted from boblechat:

Hello I just receive a new pinball Beatles Gold but I have problem with right upper flipper.Which screw do I have to tighten or what's the problem ? If you have picture for help thanks a lot. Have a nice day.Frédéric
[quoted image]

Loosen the hex bolt and move the flipper bat to the middle of the hole like the left one. Tighten as hard as practicable without bending anything. If you don't really tighten it it will come loose like it did before.

Does the physical knocker do anything other than knock on Specials and end-of-game matches? Hopefully it will knock on extra balls. I just ordered one from Pinball Life but if that is all it does, I probably will not put it in.

While logged in, I noticed that after you play Classic and it asks you to Play Again, it reverts to the normal Beatles mode. So I just log out and log in again, which is easier now with the Home mode enabled. I have to look into the Holiday Speech....

#1497 1 year ago

I like the Seawitch/Classic mode, the family had some fun with it this morning. I wish they would make more a reference to it. It would be cool that after you hit the 20,000 bonus it would revert to the old Seawitch sounds and display something cool on the display....similar to what BKSOR did. I mean they own the rights so they could.

I wish the sounds were different in classic mode. I like The Beatles but even they get old after awhile.

Has anyone noticed that the entry for high scores has changed to a generic font and not what it used to be after the last or second last update?

Quoted from W1zardlou:

Bonjour !
I had the same issue on both ST And the Beatles. The central 4-bank drop target are having a hard time setting up. So I dissembled it, cleaned the factory grease and the dust stick to it, put it back it works fine.
But one month later, on the Beatles. The same target bank not resetting properly. But this time the resistance is not from the plastic of the targets against the washers.
It’s not in the coil sleeve this is smooth as well. The last place that I can see resistance that prevent the target from setting up is here on the photo. Now I know and I agree with the fact that the less grease or none is the best in most case. Grease attract dust and you have to do it over and over. However, since it’s metal on metal is a drop of some sort of grease can help my case? If yes which one would you suggest.

This is Super Lube 11016 Dry-Film Spray. Sometimes I put it on wooded cotton swaps but usually I just spray it very little. Because it is dry it will not attract dirt. Most people will say never use lube and it is the best advice for most applications. But I do what I want....

Quoted from gandamack:

I mean zero disrespect for this title. Actually never played it. I was just curious as to why so few people talk about the Beatles pin. Is it boring, weak code, or something else? It doesn't seem to get any love and respect.

Its a pin that I still play about everyday. It's not for everyone and some people want to be wow'ed by mechs, which I admit Beatles don't have. Its a shooters game, period. Some also say; its just a Seawitch. They never really appreciated either game because if they did, I don't think they would say that. With that being said...If I could improve the game, I'd like the Seawitch sounds in Classic mode.

I have Insider Connected. I don't think I can change the date in the Utilities menu anymore. I looked and couldn't find it.

#1650 1 year ago
Quoted from StoneyCreek:

Do you find Insider Connected's pros outweigh the cons for a Beatles pin? They don't cost a lot, but I didn't see a good justification for putting one in....plus I use the 'alternative' music/vid mods occasionally which are based on older code.

If you use the older code, then I wouldn't do it. I like IC because it tracks my games played, awards, etc. I have it on all my Spike 2 games. I'm going out of town next month so my streak is going to end...

I put a touch of SuperLube on a q-tip and it was funny with the opto spinner. I actually had to go into settings and make the mode harder because I felt it was just cheating.

Quoted from crazypinballguy:

I have insider connect on my Beatles, but I have no interest in using it.
Are there any cover ups that can be purchased that replicate the look before insider connect was implemented?
[quoted image]

I put my IC in the DBA in the coin door. I 3D printed out my own adapters and used a 10FT CAT 5/6 to install it to the playfield. Yes you could use a short cord and unplug it when when you lift the playfield, but I know I'm not going to remember. I did the same for my other games because I don't like IC on the playfield, if it didn't come with it.

Quoted from mjmpin:

Quick question from a potential owner, I have had this game on my list for some time. have played it a fair amount on location & really like it. I have not had a music pin in my collection yet and have avoided since one of the frustrating (for me) aspects of a music pin is the continued restarting of songs during play after balls drains etc. But this being the Beatles, I might overcome that
I have heard that there are now potentially sound file updates (aftermarket) changes etc to have different music, potentially different albums/selections to play, etc. Is that true? I cant seem to find anything on it searching the threads. Is that a pinsound opportunity only or can it be done without changing the sound card/etc?
thanks!

I have a few music pins. The only one that is annoying for me is AC/DC because if you drain right away you are locked into that song/mode and have to listen to the beginning of the song again. Beatles don't have that issue because you are starting a different song/mode anyway. Honestly having this pin for about a year, the songs all sound the same to me. I'm not the biggest Beatles fan but I love the pin. Seeing you have 8 pins, I think you'll be fine. If it was your first and only pin, I'd have some reservations. It's like TNA in that regard.

Two of my favorite games. Getting ready to put them in a new spot so they can stay side by side.

There is another single level game in the background...which is also a great game.

I'll order a 3 and 4 drop ledge from Marco and design them. I have some black PETG that would work. I've printed other things with PETG and it holds up well. It don't look all that hard to do. I'd send some out for testing if someone plays theirs frequently so we know it's good (feel free to PM me). My original hasn't broke yet so when they do, I'd like not to do it again. It's not about the $, more about the pain of having a pin down and replacing it with the same crap.

#1960 9 months ago

This morning I was in a good mood to just tear into my Beatles and designed a better ledge and everything came out very well. I redesigned the ledge to be slightly thicker but I kept the same taper so they are then wider. I also put a fillet on some of the edges to reduce stress points. You could argue that the the ledges being slightly thicker might change how the targets drop but I just played a game and don't feel or see a difference. I printed them in PETG with 100% infill, .1 mm layer thickness (finer than I normally print to reduce the notching in the taper). The pictures show how much thicker they are. If you want to try a set I put them in my PS shop at a reduced rate because I can't vouch for their durability. Being thicker, wider, and in PETG should help. I limited them to 5 sets but I can send out more if they go out of stock, I just didn't someone ordering a bunch at cost. The 1.95mm measurement are the original and 2.75 are the redesigned parts.

Quoted from A330FOATL:

Scott was able to send me a replacement part and I've been using it for a few days now. All I can say is that it is amazing! A MUCH better made part than the original Stern piece. I've had absolutely not issues with it and find it to be an amazing piece. If it's something you need (and eventually you will) I can't recommend it enough! Plus it comes from a fellow Pilot....enough said!

Quoted from chewiec:

Great to hear! Mine gets delivered tomorrow and I will report back my findings. Thanks again Scott for a fix which has been a pain particularly on this machine for me.

Thanks! I’ll always try to help out Beatles Owners because I know they have a great taste in pins!!

Quoted from A330FOATL:

I finished changing out all the black drop targets to frosted ones and swapped out all the black rubbers with transparent ones....what a huge difference! Really brings out the colors and vibrance of the playfield, highly recommended.

Did you order the stickers from Stern or are they in the goodie bag? I really like the frosted drops!

I've played Classic mode when it came out but forgot about it mostly. The last couple nights I focused on learning the Seawitch ruleset and it was a blast to play. I now changed my settings to start on Classic mode. I know Seawitch is underneath The Beatles ruleset but the modes are so point heavy, I don't care about them (other than the bonus multiplier). I'll go back to The Beatles ruleset eventually. If you never really played Classic mode and figured it out, give it a try.

Quoted from Speck:

Interesting - I’m still at 1.20 so I can play the rethemes, the downside is no classic. Are you using the rethemes?

No. I never played with them yet. I bet it’s a toss up from one way to another.

Just an update on ScottieIA's drop ledges. I have put in over 50 games and they are working fantastic. I have had zero issues. Thanks for the great update and hopefully a long time solution Scottie!

Thanks for the update! I put them in my game, even if I didn't need them yet, and no issues. I play Beatles about 3X more than any of my other games so I also have some time on them. I've had people tell me when I bought this game that the drops was going to be a problem. I'm just happy to be a part of the solution.

#2021 7 months ago
Quoted from Speck:

What do the ledges solve? I have an issue with my “four” targets where they sometimes won’t drop when the ball hits them. Is that what these were designed to fix?

No. The post #1945 details what the issue is with Stern drops that work hard on machines like the Beatles.

The drops will not drop if the ball doesn't move the drop back far enough for the ledge to release the drop target. They also don't drop if the ball hits at an angle or without the required force.

You might just have to remove your mech and inspect it. It isn't very hard to do or understand how they work.

#2023 7 months ago
Quoted from Speck:

Thanks - I’ll give it a shot. Do you know of there is an adjustment to move the targets back or forward? It pretty dramatic - the ball can hit straight on and hard and still just bounce off like it’s hitting a wall. I’ve tried shortening the springs, that’s worked on my EM machine but hasn’t helped on the Beatles.

I'm not sure. I think there could be something to mess with to make them easier.
