    Quoted from dirkdiggler:

When espn launched in the early 80s, AFL and strongman competitions were their main properties. My dad played some rugby in South Africa in the 70s and would be shouting at the tv "look at the crazy sons of bitches. They're killing each other. This is great"

Whenever chaos started happening in gym class, on the field, etc... We'd yell "Aussie rules"

That is about when I first watched Aussie Rules football. I was thinking, "there ain't no rules". And who ever had the ball is a dead man.

    Fascinating sport.

    LOL - Gold!!
Big game for your fellas tonight ... hopefully you keep your finals chances alive

The way both teams are going they will both lose tonight somehow.

Nothing quite like a big hit to get the crowd fired up

They changed the rules because of this guy. Port would have won more flags if they didn't everyone was scared of him.

    Quoted from Boof-Ed:

Have you seen Dipper on LW3 backbox.

Lol , it really does look like Dipper

Back when footy used to be scary to play

Geez it was a rough game back then!!

Adelaide takes 2 on trot and makes it quite interesting for who'll scrape into the finals. Giants and Melb face off on Saturday, so that'll be interesting to watch but I reckon the Dogies have a great chance of sneaking in, although don't think they'll be able to repeat their fairy-tale Grannie win of 2016

I don't care who wins as long as it's not the cats or tigers .

    #110 3 years ago

Think the bottom 4 will be just making up the numbers, although I'd be going for the Dogies if they made it in

Wouldn't mind Gary Ablett winning a flag in his last year and if the Lions play in the Grannie in Brisie that'll would be huge for the AFL (sticking the knife into the NRL), but not overly fussed who wins ... just not Collingwood LOL!!

If the Lions win the grand final that could give Grant Birchall 5 premierships

    Nice research .
I think Michael Tuck is the most underrated player ever , 7 Flags , 39 finals appearances and runner-up six times for The Best and Fairest at Hawthorn .
Up against arguably the best player ever in Leigh Matthews .
And the games played record holder for so long .
He always gets left out when the best players that have played are mentioned .

Well , the grand final is on tonight between Richmond and Geelong in Brisbane , I never thought I would say that .
Sure has been crazy year .

    #115 3 years ago

Yep, would normally have a huge GF BBQ with my mates and their families ...it's gunna be quite different this year. Then again I'll probably get to see more of the actual game than normal

    #116 3 years ago

    Yellow and Black!!!

    #117 3 years ago

Dusty stood up when needed. Unfortunate Gazza got injured although he battled on, I would have liked him to had a better last game

More bullshit rule changes from the AFL to increase scoring .
If they had let the game be years ago , we wouldn't be in this situation now .

    #120 3 years ago

I think the AFL are now so used to changing rules every year, they think it's normal. Here's an unsurprising stat I heard yesterday, the AFL has more rules changes than any other sport in the world.
