So anyways, this was my machine to get free admission to the show. On the the last day, around 3pm, someone bought the machine and needed to take it, as they had a long drive ahead. I told them it was okay, but they had to pay the $25 exit fee to take it now. They did and off they went.
Now the night before, I bought a nice Breakshot that someone had brought, and I left it on the show floor. I was going to take it that night, but figured it wasn't pressing or necessary and people could enjoy it until I was ready to load it. At around 3pm, I started to break it down after the AP sale, as I too had a long drive ahead, and was scolded for doing so. I was told to pay the $25. I ended up paying it, but it didn't sit right with me, here's why.
I had already brought and registered my Austin Powers for free play admittance both days, and it was paid for when it was removed the last day, by the buyer.
I could have taken the Breakshot with no penalty the night before, but instead, I left it and it got played for 5+ hours the next day, and I'm penalized because I wanted to take it home before 6? I already had my one game in, and it was paid for to leave, doesn't make sense to me that I needed to pay for the second one. You can buy from vendors and flea markets and take your games whenever you'd like, and since the breakshot wasn't even registered...
Talked to a few friends, and we'll probably just pop for a vendor spot next year for the freedom and less hassle.
