I think he routed out the inserts the same way the factory did, this guy has skills! Ad me to the long list of people who are really enjoying this thread. It must he hard deciding what to make clear and what to leave metal but so far I like the choices he's making.

Quoted from SilverUnicorn:

Looking great!
Do you have something to put on the playfield to protect it from ball scratches? Please forgive me if this was already covered. Something like those thin lexan playfield protectors that Pinball life sells? That way once it is all scratched up you can just pull that out and replace it?
Chris

Maybe if he uses one of those glo balls it won't scratch as much as a steel ball, or maybe he can find a clear plastic ball. I think he already stated he's using a mylar but don't remember.

OHHHHHHHHhhhhh Myyyyy Gaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwd. That is so cool~!. Your attention to detail - the craftmanship - just top notch. And to see it displayed in SUCHA COOL WAY! I can't wait to see all those motors turning, coils firing. Phew.. I need to catch my breath.
EDIT: ..and you MUST get those clear pop bumpers Vid posted.

Don't think the old style bumper caps will fit the new style body ...

Love this thing. It'll cut a perfect circle from 1-6" and is marked off in 1/16" increments. You can usually find it local at Walmart, Michaels or maybe Hobby Lobby. So easy a two year old can use it. (Yeah, that includes me.)

Always meant to find one of these, just ordered one from amazon for like $21. thanx again Vid

I'm definitely no expert but after getting that old stuff off I would rough up the surface real good with a scrubbie pad and clean it good with naptha. I would wait a full day before applying the 2nd coat so not to worry that the 2nd coat will try to pull off the 1st coat when curing.

Quoted from Mk1Mod0:

If you can find these at Sears, buy all they have. Put it in your Dremel and go to town. It'll do 500 bulb sockets or so before you wear it out.
