Very true. It takes me a full day to go through a whole 4 player Gottlieb EM. I clean and gap every switch along the way. Check for proper solenoid movements as well as take apart and clean all mechanical linkages. I also clean and or solder any contact rivets that may need them. I also check the leaf spring solder points as they often get bent onto each other causing shorts.
Doing this right from the get go saves me chasing issues that may compound on each other. My last machine had so many issues, all problems would have had a few different reasons for failures.
It sounds like a monumental task but it's nothing compared to a week of messing around. Plus the machine will be very robust and trouble free for quite a while.
