Let's set the bar to include games from 1978 until 1990. In between the em era and the dmd era.

Big fan of 1980's pins. Have a High Speed, Strange Science and am currently fixing up a Heavy Metal Meltdown!
Generally well build pins, fairly reliable even though they're 30 years old now! Good stories, decent music, not overly complicated rules. IMO they've got a lot going for them.
Went to Northern Lights over the weekend and some of the 1980's highlights for me were:
Spacestation - Really got in to this game, would love to own one.
Pinbot - Good game. Not as much fun as Spacestation IMO
Police Force - A little on the easy side, but great fun.
Roadkings - OK game but the music is very annoying. Someone should hack this game and change the soundtrack.
Have played on quite a few of the 1980's Williams, Bally and Gottlieb games. Have a particular soft spot for the Steve Richie Williams games of the era!
I think I love 80's pins. What do you think? 36 games currently in my collection and only 4 of them outside of your range. I'll have to tell about my Meteor purchase. That's my favorite story, but before I can do that I'll have to take a few pics.

I'm with you, the 80's had some awesome titles out. I especially have love for the Gottlieb pins of the era.
