One year at Expo I heard that Todd Tuckey was there. All of the autograph hounds were stalking designers, notable players and industry people for selfies and ink. None of that is my thing but I'm happy for those that enjoy it.
Now I was happy bumping into whomever at the show and all of the usual suspects were there. But it was Todd Tuckey that I had never met and I intentionally sought him out. And the only thing I wanted to do was introduce myself to him, thank him for his videos and shake his hand.
Eventually I found him sitting alone in the lobby and I asked to join him. He was gracious and invited me to sit with him. He was a very pleasant and modest man to me and I enjoyed our all to brief conversation.
If you have ever watched his videos, pay attention to his ease in front of the camera and more importantly, his self deprecating humor. The man is comfortable with himself, he knows how to roll with some ball busting and he is damn funny. His deadpan face to the camera always cracks me up.
Now I'm not going to pretend to really know the man, but I'd be shocked and disappointed if Todd's comment above isn't complete sarcasm. It's exactly what I'd expect from a pretty sly and funny man.
