    Quoted from o-din:

Oh and my college educated niece informed me today I was being racist when I mentioned a Mexican gentleman that helped me at Home Depot had been there for 30 years. Apparently it is now racist to call people from that country that.
She went on to inform me that I am white, something I was seriously offended by.
Would going to college in Oregon have anything to do with that?

Seriously though. Can you see me having this conversation with an overly super PC young relative?

I am so glad I don't have any of those.

The world is listening. I just heard an Amazon Prime ad on the radio in regards to leaf blowers and ear plugs.

Your new car warranty is expiring. Mine was too based on dozens of calls. Not sure if it was on my '01, '04 or '05.

Acid Reflux f'ing with my good night's sleep.

    #810 44 days ago

Getting sleepy f'ing with my want to drink some more beer.

    Quoted from onemoresean:

Acid Reflux f'ing with my good night's sleep.

Had it for years, once I stopped drinking
Alcohol of any sorts ! It’s long gone

    #812 44 days ago

Once I stopped packing my gut before going to bed did the trick for me.

No problem with the alcohol, most nights I don't even remember when I went to bed.

My acid problem went away when I stopped drinking coffee. I drank the hell out of coffee for a long time. Not a cup in years and no acid.

    I drink too much coffee
    To the point , 4 cups I need a nap !

I always know when I went to bed, I just never know what I had done on the internet, email, pinside, etc. until I get up and look.

    #816 44 days ago

Cups? I was drinking pots! Like 5 or more 60 ounce pots.

    #817 44 days ago

Serious, I drink full strength Yuban in the morning and near full strength Jack at night.

It's the food you need to eat long before bed. Why do you think old people have dinner at 4:00 PM?

    #818 44 days ago
    Quoted from o-din:

Why do you think old people have dinner at 4:00 PM?

Because they get a better senior citizen discount for eating early?

    #819 43 days ago

Perhaps after 80 years they had enough acid reflux.

    Quoted from o-din:

early 2000s Toyotas which will not get the catalyst monitor ready without running a very specific drive cycle that you would never do in normal driving (that could be considered a bitch

Requires a few steps then going between 45 and 55 varying speed for around 15 minutes. Nowhere does that happen in the real world I know of. So my 2001 Tacoma has been not ready for the last year as usual.

I don't need smog yet, but I did it on the way back from the Captain's Auction with my long sought after Willams Beat The Clock pinball machine. Checked at work the next Monday and sure enough, ready.

They have a couple different blends, but I usually go traditional. I get the old school can at Costco or that one right there from Stator Bros.

My dad made a mean pot of coffee so I see no reason to change what works. It's just that I've now broken all four of the neat tall mugs he had. First one happened in about 1980 and I just killed the last one recently.

Well the coffee at this place isn’t much to talk about (I keep going back for the breakfast burritos). But I’m sure that, as with everything, proper technique would improve the final product.

Be honest, was alcohol a factor in those mugs breaking?

I don’t know, but the Rams perfected it in the 1980s. They used it every time against Joe Montana and the 49ers, and it worked to perfection every time.....for the 49ers.

No. But they were pretty cool. One the handle just broke off in my hand, so I'm still nursing it along with no handle. I've tried to find replacements, but I think they might have been one offs with no particular marking. When you get attached to something like the perfect coffee mug, it is hard to let them go.

Have you been putting them in a dishwasher? I only ask as I had two coffee mugs that over time became brittle from that and the handles came off in my hand too.

No I wash all my dishes by hand, but they are 40 year old mugs. I feel lucky only 4 lasted this long.

Those look like old gas station give-away mugs. Free with every fill-up of ten gallons or more. Collect them all.
Back when cars all had 20-25 gallon fuel tanks.
