...and discover firsthand that 5x Playfield doesn't multiply the Vacation Jackpot... ; - ;
Actually, I'm more impressed with myself in that, even if just emulated in Pinball Arcade, I was able to intentionally set up the perfect situation so that I would get 5x in one shot and score the vacation jackpot with the next, especially considering I'm presently a better flow player than control player. So rather than intentionally try to make specific shots, which I'm not very good at, I tried a different approach: Intentionally AVOID shooting the things that would mess up the goal of getting 5x right before vacation, until I was down to just the last two shots, and then I just did my best to hit them and luckily got 'em both very quickly! : D
...and you know... three months ago I called WH2O a "freakin' hard" game to the guy who introduced me to it, and I'm sure the next time I get to play it for real at his place I'll get dominated since it's going to be quite a long time yet before I can afford a machine of my own to practice on... but the funny thing is, even on a computer screen, the real trick is to just learn what works and what doesn't, not just with where you aim the ball, but with how you rescue it when it's in danger... and to recognize when the ball IS in danger. Once you have these instincts honed then the difficulty of the game becomes irrelevant and it ultimately comes down to whether you just like playing it or not! : )
