Just traded for a nice TFTC. It has two issues.

1. When you plug it in and turn on, All GI will come up but nothing else. In a minute or so, you will hear the crypt keeper say something and the DMD will light up. Turn it off and back on then everything works fine.

2. There is some noise coming from the speakers. It is associated with the GI. it will make noise consistent with the timing and cycle of GI bulbs in attract mode.

Thanks for any help!!

Might want to ask this over in the Dot Matrix games forum instead of the EM forum.

My TFTC boots fine, but there is a buzz coming from the speakers, not noticeable when playing, but when sitting in attract mode it can be heard.

Dang it! Can a mod please put this in the right forum?

10 to 1 your power supply is cooked.

Yea, your power supply board needs rebuilt. Common problem on DE games. My TFTC has the same bootup issue, but I've played it this way for years without any other issues.

Any ideas on the noise issue?

Disconnect the speakers and you will have no noise issue.

You will need to add some 120 volt solenoids that go "WHUMP" and a score motor operating a circle of switches to go "TICKETY TICK TICK" to obtain the correct pinball sounds. And a bell and/or chimes.

Oh, and change the machine theme to billiards, cards or chicks.

Bad score motor.

Its Cn1 on the power board. Gotta be.
