Quoted from Mudflaps:Patiently waiting for the new plastics…
WAIT NO MORE
These were completed and began laser cutting on thursday. Just got them on the site today. Some of you may need to "refresh" if you were watching the site, to get the latest pages.
It's been totally ugly and overcast here, so waiting for a weather break to get the outdoor photo gallery with everything glistening in the sun. So gallery will come as soon as I can get it.

Quoted from MustangPaul:All I need is the skill shot plastic, I see the the set comes with 2 of them. Is there a way to just buy that plastic?
Unfortunately no. Each set is made as a ganged sheet as you see in the picture (2 feet x 2 feet). Then they are lasered out and bagged as complete sets. To get a single skill shot piece, we'd have to rob a bag, meaning a customer doesn't get double-pieces as promised.
If somebody wants to sell you their extra one from their bag after-the-fact, then by all means, their call.
Plus, it's no mystery we're inclined to move sets, not a single piece (forgoing all others). As a TFTC fan myself (I drew this set, as it was my passion to see these done someday) and it being my favorite DMD machine, I totally understand the attraction of that single piece. If anything, that is kinda the point. Most plastics sets are bought for one or two pieces. That's the whole attraction of going in on a whole set. If it wasn't, we might as well have made just the Skill Shot piece and forgot about the others. Hope this makes sense.

Quoted from NickRocco:Kevin,
Are all of the included plastics shown in the picture? My machine has a few pieces not shown in the picture.
Yes, everything included in our set is shown in the layout. There are some irrelevant clear sneezeguard pieces that were ommitted on purpose, as there was no room on the mastersheet anyway.
I had some on my TFTC 10 years ago when I bought mine, and took them all off. Have no clue where they are today, but I do remember they were yellow, warped, and highly irrelevant for a home based machine.

Quoted from NPO:I noticed the plastic for the shooter lane was not made (the guillotine plastic with the guy looking up at the blade - it covers the ball-launching solenoid). Looks like it is almost riveted down - is that why it was not included in this kit?
Everybody look a little closer. It's not a silkscreened plastic. It's a CMYK decal.
KEVIN
Quoted from MustangPaul:Is the one over the drop targets a decal also?
Nope. It's spot-color silkscreened on the reverse side, with a white backing. It's # -19 in the plastic set series.

Quoted from MustangPaul:Joe at Laseriffic said he would make plastic protectors for our game if someone would send him the info. I don't know the game well enough to tell him which to make.
No sense for people trying to trace pieces and CAD these from scratch in this case... Just have Joe email me off our website, telling me which shapes he wants. I have all the exact cutlines for all the pieces in the plastic set, so I can pass on whatever he needs. He can reshape them and cut/sell what he pleases.

Quoted from MustangPaul:I just wish CPR would have done this.
Unfortunately, we're never going to get into protectors because our repro plastics are already on PETG. Think of them as essentially "plastic protectors with silkscreening on them" 2-in-1. Shampoo and conditioner.
We've always considered plastic protectors to be something too few in runsize for us to develop and run, so even though we always have the material and equipment - we'd rather the laser be cutting repro plastic sets 8 hours a day. Plus the protectors territory is well covered by other makers, and has been for years. We're not going to tromp in their arena.
For PETG reproduction plastics, adding protectors is pretty much redundant. For original plastics (on click-cut butyrate), protectors are a very good insurance policy. Two totally different ballgames.
Even though we often double slings and "easy break" pieces if sheet space allows... we haven't heard of people breaking their installed ones yet, and needing to pull out the spares in rescue.
