Quoted from Paseb:

anyone installed a polks psw10 sub on his TFTC? is it worth it? necessary?
i installed one on my road show and really liked the result

My buddy Dave used to have one hooked up to his TFTC. If you like to play with it loud and actually feel the sounds, I would recommend it. I’m probably going to grab one for mine.

You can fish it through the rear or bottom of the cab, then alligator clip it to the existing speaker lugs.

Thx colson

Flipper bat hex bolt stripped from previous owner, what my options to remove it?

Do you replace with same bolt or something else?

Ohhh I like that dark look to it.

I like it too. Especially because the original usually reflects horribly onto the PF glass.

#3906 3 years ago
Quoted from Colsond3:

Reducing backglass glare is one thing I like using cheap LEDs for.

#3907 3 years ago

I like the translite but hate that it doesn't match the playfield art. So it looks out of place to me.

#3908 3 years ago
Quoted from sevenrites:

Yeah, but then you usually get the circular ring effect on the translite. Looks like he has cool white and color back there, I’ll probably switch it to warm. That should help.

#3909 3 years ago
Quoted from Colsond3:

Yeah, but then you usually get the circular ring effect on the translite.

The ones I'm using in back glasses must be so cheap they're not capable of lighting bright enough to make the circular ring effect, otherwise I wouldn't leave them in there. That would be too annoying to see.

my birthday is coming in a month. My gf asked me for any gift ideas

i was thinking of a Pinsound + or Pinstadium(not sure what model) for Tales from the Crypt, RoadShow or Dirty Harry?

what would you choose and why and for which machine?

thanks

#3911 3 years ago

Not sure on which machine for pinsound but I have one in my Tommy and its great. If you don't have a color dmd in the tftc, I would get that instead

i have color dmd on all 3 pins

#3913 3 years ago

I would say to put it in the tftc then since the sound is better on b/w than de and the pinsound will make the sound on tftc perfect.

I'd say if your GF is willing to buy you pinball stuff for your BD she is a real keeper! I'd take her out to dinner.

What to put in the tftc?

#3916 3 years ago

Question, my color dmd shows sigma 3.3. So i need the new rom

Can i have the new rom and game rom at the same time on the usb or i have to install new rom first? Then load game rom?

Quoted from Paseb:

Pinsound but maybe you should go on their website and see what’s available to download on tftc

Has anyone ever put the half-circle Button Guard Side Rails on their TFTC?
Terry at Pinball Life doesn't know if his Stern ones will fit a Crypt correctly, so obviously can't say yes.
The ones he sells also have a notch cut out on the button end, maybe something to do with the newer lockdown bar latches?
They do not have extra screw holes around the half circle.

https://www.pinballlife.com/black-button-guard-side-rails-for-stern.html

The ones Marco has have no notch cut out, but has extra screw holes around the half circle.

https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/535-9596-XX

Both are listed with the same part number(s) 535-9596-01 and 02

Thanks for any help!

Replaced left flipper bat and now this is how it looks? What did i do wrong?

[quoted image]

i think I see it, there is a DE bat on the left and a Williams bat on the right.

As to what caused the wonkiness, you try loosening the pinch bolts and aligning the bats correctly--making sure they are not too close to the playfield to cause blinding? If the right bat is stuck all the way up and won't drop (and isn't binding) you must have fried something--hope you did all the work with the power off. If I recall correctly I had a diode go out on a flipper coil that caused the bat to stick in the up position, but it has been awhile since that happened so I'm not positive. Search for "flipper sticks up" or something similar to that and see what answers you can find.

Thx for you answer.

I pushed both flippers to take the picture.
They work fine. But at up position, the left bat goes lower than the right.

Any idea whats the problem?

I still have to remove the william bat, but the allen bolt is stripped so not sure what to do at the moment!

#3922 3 years ago

You sure you have the left one adjusted correctly? Loosen it up all the way, let the flipper mech reset and use the alignment hole to position the flipper correctly. Make sure a credit card can slide between the playfield and bottom of the bat and tighten it up.

First time doing that.
How can i adjust correctly?
How to let the flipper reset?

Where is that alignment hole?

Also, When i remove the bat, flipper button was disconnected as i was powdercoating side rails and some other parts.

[quoted image]

What’s stripped the hex head or the threads? If it’s the hex head use a set of vise grips to grab the head and loosen. Replace with another hex.

The issue is not that, at neutral position, they re both at same position,

When i press flipper button, the left flipper wont go as high as the right flipper.

#3927 3 years ago

In my tftc the oes switch of the right flipper is connected as in the photo, both wires are connected on one point, is that right? Everything works fine
Thanks

Game is now for sale. Ramp gate replaced.
Ad is up on the Market place.

quote cite="#6127536">I will be posting a TFTC on Pinside classifieds in a few weeks. It is in central Va near Charlottesville.
I am waiting for a Cliffy right ramp gate 500-5658-00.
I will contribute to pinside if the game sells here before placing it on Marketplace.
No errors, everything works and clean. Shooter thing in good shape. Cab. 8.0, PF 9.5, BG/translite 10.
Broads are matching and clean.
Original manual, Color DMD, sub woofer and Spare set of CPR plastics. NO topper. Lockdown bar and legs are very good condition.
I have gone through it and replaced: balls, coil sleeves, flipper bushings, some Titan rubbers, drop targets and their springs.
New: PF Glass, gloss black leg bolts, cup holder and key-less door lock.
Previous Pinside owner: Added some LED's and toy mods. Replaced the Rom's for the cpu and display with updated 4.0 Rom's from Matt's and re-flowed the power connectors. Added NVRAM and air ball protector.
Game is fun and plays well but the theme is just not for me. Easy walk out access and I can help load.

Just threw this alt translite in. Not bad, but looks a little grainy.

I went with this alternative. I really like the comic book art, still have to do some LED changes to warm white but it’s pretty clear and good quality. Grabbed from ministryofpinball.com. I think most alternative seem to bleed through the light more than OEM...

I actually like this mod as it fits one of the TFTC's video modes (Door Prize Select) which features a hangman if you select the wrong door. It looks to be pretty well thought out with a nice mounting bracket and a high level of detail on the mod.

I have never seen this mod before so I don't think that it is available for purchase.

Been thinking about letting my TFTC go. As much as I love the artwork and theme, I tend to not want one more game anymore. Maybe the honeymoon is over? Not sure yet.
