New to the club..just added a TFTC to my collection..just had it all shopped, new boards, LED, all metals powder coated a hammered brass to match the factory shooter color..4 DE games in my collection of 25.., this one seems to have harder shots for me then my other DE.

Quoted from Sonic:

A piece of clear plastic that affixes above the drops to prevent caroming ....annoying as heck in TFTC....

Ah very cool. I am looking forward to looking over the past comments in this club to spiff up my tftc. I have owned my game for about 4 years and am just getting now ready to mod it. Looks like a great group.

Watching an old episode of Tales From the Crypt and saw the Crypt Keeper playing the TFTC pinball at the beginning of the episode. He seemed to be enjoying it.

Does anyone make or no were to get a topper?

#3709 3 years ago

This is the one I made. Painted the sign and hooked up the candle crypt keeper. And a led strip to light the sign.

I've messaged him but the site is having issues.

I've seen pics of the keeper mounted behind tombstone, but it doesn't look like it belongs there. Thx

See post below.

Quoted from GRB1959:

Those circled plastic pieces are not actually used in the game. They are used to create a stand-up plastic topper-like plastic assembly that sits on a flat surface when assembled. They are extras that are not needed for the game, but are sort of a nice to have for a collector.

I would think the Cryptkeeper goes in front of the zombies...

#3717 3 years ago

Nope, he blocks em too much.

#3718 3 years ago

I'll sell it to ya and you can arrange however you like

#3719 3 years ago
Quoted from miracleman:

He should be in front. But to each their own.

I also use the extra crypt keeper I have for behind the tombstone. Like I said....to each their own.

That looks good, how did you attatch?

#3721 3 years ago
Quoted from Hayfarmer:

That looks good, how did you attatch?

These pics should show you more than I can explain. Lol

The crypt keeper plastic goes up when the tombstone lifts and then falls back into place when the tombstone stops. The ball will also slightly slap the crypt keepers hand when you hit the left ramp. Just a minor effect that adds some pizzaz to the game in my opinion.

My wife is playing it right now. I'll see if I can get some video of it shortly to show you.

Been working on my "Crypt Keeper Corner" for a while now. Repainted Crypt Keeper mask and added glass eyes, then made a life size Crypt Keeper using the mask, repainted a small Crypt Keeper head and added glass eyes, added a vintage "spook show" poster, added Captain Spaulding mask that I customized and a custom Captain Spaulding poster. Finally finished everything! I'll post a video of it all soon!

Hello everyone. Just joined the club with a pretty decent TFTC. A lot more fun than I initially thought.

But that super tight right ramp shot annoys me. I think I read someone recommending thinner post sleeves? I haven't had any luck finding any online, so does anyone happen to have a link or a part number that is usable? If I find them, I think I am gonna need 2 for my Fish Tales captive ball as well, as that seems impossible to hit as well. And no, I'm just not that good a player

When I had mine. I added thinner post sleeves to the captive ball. I got them from titan. It's the slim post sleeve for sterns I believe.

Moving soon and wanted to find these beautiful cards a new home, since I sold my game a couple years back. They were imported and frankly took forever to get here, the artist is super backlogged or slow to ship. I won't be. High quality foil on Vinyl. $20 shipped via USPS first class mail.

I made my own thin post sleeves using neoprene motorcycle fuel line. Worked great.

Hello. Just got a really nice TFTC. LED upgrade. It looks great. We love it. Can’t wait to get good at it. One thing I do not care for is the launcher shooting the ball into the drop targets then shooting straight down. I don’t know if I am doing something wrong or if there is an adjustment I can make but it seems to hit the middle target then drain straight down the middle a lot. Neithe rflipper can even touch it. Is there something I can do to avoid this? Sorry if this has been asked before Thanks.

First thing to check is the guide wire form behind the targets or is it missing? Should be right behind targets under the plastic.

It’s hitting the middle target and the target is dropping as expected but the angle it hits the target sends it straight down the middle. I will play around with it

Also try to fiddle/move the gate at the end of the shooter lane. Maybe clean it a bit too. I find that works for me.

I just got a tales yesterday and wanted to replace a side rail because of a dent. Why are they so hard to find for Tales?

Never mind..Found compatible ones on Marco....

Hello,

I got this LED speaker light kit from Marco for my Tales. Zero instructions. I think the power control box says 24 DC volts input. Where would I clamp the clips to for power on Tales?

Thanks in advance...

I believe the controller says "INPUT: DC5-24V"

The input voltage you need is dependent on what type of light strips you have connected to the controller. That light kit uses +12v light strips so...

Make sure to clip Red onto +12V and Black onto the GROUND

Is there a trick to removing the back right VUK assembly and trough from the underside of the playfield? Seems like the tight quarters back there aren’t letting me loosen the necessary screws...Thanks.

1 week later
#3750 3 years ago

Finished the VUK rebuild. I left the playfield in. Definitely would be the easier route to take out the playfield. If you keep it in, adjusting/sliding out the playfield so it sits higher on the cabinet rails will give you better access. I bought an offset screw driver that let me work in the small space.
