I am trying to test a system 7 sound board for operation. I have already replaced the caps and reflowed many solder joints.

Am I correct in thinking that the sound board can simply be tested by pushing the button in the upper left of the board, and all that needs to be connected is the ac power in, the volume pot and the speaker?

Yep. Or you can ground pins on the data connector and trigger individual sounds.

    Cool thanks.
Any other areas of the SC that i should look at? Again I reflowed connectors, the amp, caps. Speaker is good. I tested it in a functional BK and it was dead there too. Definitely the SC.

Good voltage (5v, -12, 12)? Any scratching sound when you adjust the volume?
