I'm close to re-populating my BOP playfield after clearcoat and wondering what easy trick you all use to test LED bulbs to ensure they are working (correct polarity, no issues with corrosion, etc) before you add back all the ramps etc. In other words, some of these bulbs are very hard to access after the playfield is populated and then re-installed in the cabinet. I need some easy way of doing this with a small battery or something as my playfield is sitting on a rotisserie at the moment ...

Solder alligator clips to the terminals of a 9V battery, and apply the voltage to the wedge sockets with the correct polarity to test feature lights; just apply to bayonet sockets without regard to polarity.

I always test/adjust everything on the rotisserie before putting the play field back in.

It was a little nerve racking the first time I tried it, just make sure nothing is touching that shouldn't be before power up.

PBL sells a bulb testing rig, if you want to get fancy: http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=3292

I just turn the machine on and check them that way.
Edit- I guess the playfield would have to be placed in the machine to do that.

Thanks all. The 9 volt battery trick is what I needed. Not sure id have the guts to plug the pf in while outside the cabinet...
