Similar games (designer, game depth, cost etc)....if you had to sell one which would you keep?
Assuming machines are in the same condition of course...

Terri:It's not my role to have a preference - I sell the apples. If you want me to sell the apples, I'll sell the apples. But if you want me to sell oranges, then I'll go and tell people that the apples, the apples are shit Olly, they're shit - I'll say go on, check out our oranges.
Hugh: Do you have a pref- which do you prefer, you know, apples or oranges?
Terri: Apples!
Hugh: Apples?
Terri: Apples.
Hugh: OK, thank you!
Glenn: Hugh, if we are going to spend taxpayers money putting violent thugs into productions of the fucking Cherry Orchard then we're gonna get crucified, and rightly so!
Hugh: Hang on a second - Terri, which was apples, was Olly apples or was Glenn apples? Oh. She's gone.
Seriously though...yeesh! Tough call. I'd lean towards T2, but I really don't feel there is one superior to the other in this match up.
I have owned both. I just traded HS2 for DM and I'm putting T2 up for sale shortly.
Here is what I think:
T2 Pros
Arnold's voice is really cool
The payback time mode is awesome
And the sound effects are really good
Has Two ramps
T2 Cons
They made so many that EVERY pin person either has one or already had one
It's not very difficult to master (had mine a year now and I'm crazy good at it.. I think)
No wizard mode
HS2 Pros
ZZ Top Soundtrack
The theme matches any 80s Burt Reynolds movie
The loop Champion thing is cool
The supercharger is a very nice addition
Some really nice DMD animations
The voices from the game will stay in your head (in a good way)
HS2 Cons
It's pretty hard (at least to me)
Short ball times
I would expect that you'd have an easier time finding a T2 and would pay about $300 less for one. So if it becomes a toss up, T2 will probably win by default.
If you are looking to buy something that will still be challenging years down the road, I'd get HS2. I hope this helps.
Yeah its a tough call, just like to see if there is a consensus out there as to which has longer term appeal....both fun to play!
Cheers for the comments
i sold my getaway, still have my t2. getaway is nice, maybe will get one again, but i would play t2 before getaway. everyone is different though, and i see getaway is running away with this poll. time to get back to playing funhouse and drinking beer
Quoted from Honch:There is a T2 "members only club" and we only have 1 other guy that recommends T2, Sheesh!!
Looks like we need an HS2 owners club.
