Hi,

Just got my 'new' T2.

When the ball loads into the canon it swings out as usual to the bottom of the range and then on the way up the solenoid fires the ball out. This happens without pulling the trigger.

I have checked the switches on the ramp leading in to the cannon. The switch inside the canon. I check the two switches under the canon and also adjusted the switches. All switch tests perform perfectly and the canon always finds the 'mark' and the 'home'. All connections are perfect and all diodes are in place.

What could be firing the canon automatically?

Is this a hidden software feature? I have the L-8 ROMS.

Thanks!!!!!

Check the transistors that control this coil

What happens if you never pull the trigger? Does the ball eventually auto-fire? Just wondering...

Hi,

Solenoid tests work ok as do all switches. Haven't checked the transistors for the coil.

The canon moves from 'home' to the lower target and just as it's moving back towards home the solenoid fires. Pulling the trigger does nothing. It just shoots the canon on the way back up.

Strange. I wonder if it's software. ie. it has a mode where the canon always fires. I've checked all menus but I can't find it in the online manual.

I'm not sure, but when I get home I can check, I believe the cannon is suppose to be fired before or at the bottom or the cannon automatically fires on the way up to clear the ball, because there is nowhere for the ball to go in the return position? Right now I'm at work and just guessing. Does it fire when you pull the trigger on the way down?

Hi,

The trigger doesn't fire the canon at all. At no point does the trigger control the canon.

I seem to recall from years ago that the canon would oscillate until you pulled the trigger and then fire the ball.

It's a mystery to me, especially when all the tests pass in the "gun test" menu and the switch menu.

I could be wrong, sorry I'm no help.

This worth looking into. Might just be a setting...
