I've had my T2 pinball for about a year now and the "Database" feature has popped up a whopping 3 times. I know the feature works as it has come up and the light for it lights up fine on Payback Time, Multi-Ball, etc...

Does anyone know if there is a setting that I have wrong? I am pretty sure the feature should come up more than 3 times in about 500 games! Also has me wondering about the "Special" feature on the outer ball drops. They have NEVER lit up as an option (the lights do work though as above). I am guessing that "Special" is one of the features that you can get in the "Database" menu?

Thanks to anyone with information. Not a huge deal and does not distract from my enjoyment of the game, just very odd!

Check the switch in the left most saucer. That should start the database

Special is very special and in my opinion almost meaningless in a home use enviroment. To my understanding, it basically means "free game" and maybe some points. I have hit special maybe twice in all of my games.

Wow, thanks for the quick replies.

@castlesteve, what do you mean? That hole works (as it will recognize and lock ball for multi-ball, and trigger "Jackpot Increases" when it's hit and not lit). Is that what you are talking about? All the functionality of the hole and lights work, Database just never comes up. Does that make any sense?

Thanks again!

It makes sense to me. I do not recall ever getting "database" as a reward but I have only owned my T2 for about 6 weeks. There may be a menu setting with the rarity of each selection. I can look into it when I am next to the machine again.

Thanks Stack-
I have gone through the menus ad naseum and there is nothing there for that option. There is an option for "Special" which maxes out at 10%.

While we are on the subject of those settings, does anyone know what either "Euro Scoring Format" or "Tournament Mode" do?

Reset to factory adjustments.

after you get ball lock before you shoot the cannon. If you shoot the left saucer it should give you database it only is available after lock is lit. the saucer is also important lock for multiball. It pops up with a ton of options it randomly selects if it gives u points it says "fake points" the points are in 500k and 1 mil and 3 mil. You can get extra ball via the database, specials, security pass, and also video mode. Any other questions and I'll try to answer them T2 is one of my favorites and my fiancees father owns one so i play it all the time.
Good luck

Did you ever figure out your problem with the database feature? I just realized my database is never lighting up now. I took my drop target assembly out for a cleaning and I that's when it stopped working. I'll have to see if there's something I missed when putting it back together.

I usually change the "Special" or "Replay" awards to award an Extra Ball on my home machines.

OK, well I resolved it for myself.

I was getting Database feature all the time until the pulled off the drop target assembly to clean. There's a switch attached to the bottom of the assembly. The switch is called "Drop Target" in Test. If the switch is not triggered when the drop target under the skull is hit you will not get the database to light. As royce6135 said, Database is lit after activating lock (dropping the drop target) but before loading the cannon.

My switch was not being triggered when I put the drop target assembly back on and therefor Database was never lighting.

Just noticed this myself...so if my switch #77 doesn't work then I can't get the database shot to engage right...???...is there anybody that can walk me thru how to fix this switch...I'm very new but really want to fix this....Thank you.......Joey

Haven't looked at that area in a while, but if its a microswitch like others on the machine, just replace it. First make sure its being activated by the ball in the hole.......

Quoted from Stack15:

Special is very special and in my opinion almost meaningless in a home use enviroment. To my understanding, it basically means "free game" and maybe some points. I have hit special maybe twice in all of my games.

In home I always set specials to points.

Just wondering what the "Autofire" database feature does?

I have played a couple hundred games but i have never been awarded the "Autofire" feature.

Also since we are on topic i have only ever got the "Special" feature once, seems very rare.

^^^....assuming it's a ball save like normal auto-fire....I've yet to get that yet also........Joey
