Hey guys I need some help with the $$ exchange rate. How much would any of these parts cost me?
http://www.pinball-dreams.com/index.php?article_id=15&clang=1
I googled the exchange rate but I want to make sure it's correct.

The EUR is around 1.28 now. So multiply the Pinball Dreams total by 1.28 and there you go. I am
ordering their total T2 kit with chrome decals and apron, plus a set of their LEDs for the inserts. Way cheaper even with shipping and the currency conversion than PDI. Oh, Pinball Dreams will accept PayPal, but there is a 4% fee added onto the invoice. Now I just need to find a nice plastic set for this game that won't run $500 bucks You should tell Drano to make more T2 blades, I bought his last set.

I can finally be part of the club after Absocountry told me about a T2 that was listed on CL only 4 blks from my house in a storage unit. We picked it up last night and got it up -n- running in no time at all. The plan is to fix a couple of minor issues to make it 100%. This machine will make an excellent base game for a CQ restoration since it was not totally trashed while on route. I already have the chrome decals and full chrome kit from Pinball Dreams including the lit apron. Picked up Brock's T-1000 mod and the blu ray T-1000 for a topper. Hope to get the PF sent off to HSA later this spring to get clear coated. The Diamond Plate is still intact and there is no real wear on the PF, only ball tracks. After that I will have Alex Levy do ink black powder coating for the LDB, rails and legs. Figure a lot of folks have done full chrome already so I want to do something a little different. The gun will need to see Mike Chestnut. Got lucky and found 21 NOS plastics. As you can tell I am pretty excited about this project!

Quoted from ThatGuy:

I sounds like you're going to pump more money into the T2 than what you paid for it. Am I right? It should look and play fantastic when you're done.

Yep, I did get a good deal on it. The HSA level two service is about what I paid for the machine....LOL. So, most would consider me out of my mind for spending this kind of coin on this title.... but it will still cost half of what a NIB Stern runs! And it the code will be finished and it will play like a dream... I hope to have my XMEN LE at that same point one day. I need a game in my lineup that is shallow and full of flow... with short ball times.

I forgot to mention that I picked up the T-800 lit figure and the H/K mod that Andy Dreads (eBay) from the UK makes. Joey has these same mods on his site for a bit of a mark up. Also I purchased the Superfluxx LEDs for the inserts. I will use CTs for the GI most likely. I am really curious to see how nice these German lights are. Apparently they are not overly blinding and they are rich in color.

Yeah, Andy has some cool stuff. Love the lit figure and the H/K mod and protector is a must!
Welcome to the Club! We even have the Official T2 Smiley!

I like it! Oh, any word on possible t-shirts for club members?

Could not find the T2 hunter ship mod on cointaker's site...
Contacted Pam at Pinbits. Should be restocked within a week!

This one costs 2x more than the Pinbits version, but it also has a few different modes.

My PF was touched up and clear coated earlier this week by Brian at HSA. It turned out great!

I can't wait for my friend to finish the restore. All the cool toy n mods, NOS plastic set, full Pinball Dreams kit, plus the chrome decals, Sigma color DMD in red, LDB/rails, hinges and legs in black ink from Back Alley Creations, and Mike Chestnut to chrome the ramps/ gun. Thanks to the Pinsider who posted the link for the Blu Ray topper at a huge discount last XMAS!

Is this true only on newly decaled cabs? Or are they a bad idea on all games?

It leaves a big indentation that will be there forever. If you go with another system (stealth or felt protectors) it will show because that damaged area is now uncovered.

Instead of another T2 Chrome Edition, I am going for the "I'll Be Back In Black" version with black glossy powder coat on the rails, LDB, legs and hinges from Matt @ Back Alley Creations. HSA did an awesome job with the PF restoration and clear coat. And Mike Chestnut blinged it up even more by chrome plating the left ramp, habitrails, and gun.

That is going to be one sweet T2 Adrian.

Well I am sure your custom under cab LED kit you built for me is going to make it glow for sure!

#2134 10 years ago

Getting close to being finished. Needs some red light reduction in the upper right corner of the PF and a few tweaks to the GI lighting. The EL panel on the coin door my friend says looks better in person. Kind of washed out in the pics. The cannon lights up when it begins to turn. Pretty much all that he has left to install is the T-800 topper, undercab light kit, and the flipper button LEDs, oh almost forgot about the Pinball Dreams chrome lit apron. I am anxious for this game to return back to AK!

Originally when you told me you were going with black powdercoating , I couldn't see it. Now all together it looks fantastic. Nice job. It's nice to see a fully loaded T2 that isn't a carbon copy of the chrome edition. ( Which is kickass in its own right!)! We'll done.

I am pleased that all the mods and changes we made ended up blending well together. Still tinkering with the lights around the T1000 figure since the white LEDs in that area are blinding from the players perspective.

Essentially it is done! He just needs to add the under cab LED strips, complete a few bulb changes on the PF, swap out the start button for a white one, install the all aluminum flipper bats w/ Super Bands, and put some Cliffy protection at the ball eject. Then play test the heck outta of it!

I hope that T2 gets the 2.0 treatment. At least my FH will be getting a DMD someday.

Quoted from Chitownpinball:

Is it just me or does the translite now not match the rest of the cabinet? Looks out of place. A chrome edition translite might make this pop all the way, just looks off to me. Otherwise, very nice.

Quoted from DexterH:

Awesome looking T2! I really like the black. If I were to nit pick, I would have done the gun and coin door black. I would also change the translite. Black mirrored blades would of also been better. It's still one of the nicest T's around though. Good job!

Quoted from Chitownpinball:

How did you make the start button clear?

There are 3 or 4 alternative translites on eBay, but I did not really care for any of them. I decided to go with the orginal and that is part of the reason I did not go crazy with replacing the PF plastics with metal versions. I wanted to basically enhance the orginal game and make it more modern.

I thought about doing the gun in black, but figured chrome would be nice for contrast. The laser cut T2 plate for the coin door was too cool to pass up, especially when lit up. Suppose I could have powder coated that cover which I did not even think of as an option until now.

I swapped out the yellow start button that should not have been on there for the factory white one.

I hope all those that want to pimp out their T2 will take the plunge and post their results here on Pinside!

I put a spot at the bottom of the bank of targets, ( under the hunter killer) pointed at the T1000. Came out nice. If you'd like a picture let me know.

Thanks for that idea. He ended up sticking the spotlight directly under the H/K ship to illuminate the T-1000. Anyway he is finally finished with the game and tinkering around with the little stuff. Next up is the crate construction.

Don't you think that spotlight will get busted up pretty quickly? I like it, but.......

When I played the game before doing the restoration I did not notice any airballs. Hopefully the spotlight does not get taken out now that the game all put back together.

My T2 left Sin City yesterday and is on its way back to Squarebanks! Hopefully the forklift drivers are nice and don't smash into it..... I will post some vids once it gets here which will be sometime in the next 2-3 weeks. I added some pics of the game being wrapped up and crated here along with other uncompressed pics that you all have seen already within this forum post.

So, I hit three super jackpots during one multiball the other night and I thought I was well on my way to some sort of super duper jackpot, but I guess there isn't any?KB

Sorry there is no suppa suppa jackpot. Bowen gets 4 on one MB and nothing special happens.

I finally got around to adding 2 vids that demonstrate some pretty sad ball 1 game play (lots of bricked shots) a special award with a double jackpot. No supers though. The other vid is the fantastic light show at the end of the game.

Hi relatively new here and had my T2 about 2 months. In that time, on three occasions, the machine has completely reset to factory defaults ( not on free play, high scores wiped, date/ time not set). Fist time it happened, I replaced the batteries, but it has happened twice since then. Other than this machine works great. Any recommendations on cause and/or fix for this? Thanks.

My FH did the same thing. Reset with new batteries because the other ones leaked onto the board. Check for acid damage on your PCB.

Thank you man! Going to give it a try one day.

Its worth the effort. The first vid shows the game in attract mode and the skull flashers are tied to the flashers in the backglass.

Quoted from Erdrick1980:

Holy hell...what a bad ass T2!!!!!
Yeah definitely need to do those flasher mods.
Hey man, what really caught my eyes in one of those videos you had, is the under cab ground effects. Makes it so much more fun to play. Is that From pinball decals?

The lighted LED flipper buttons and non glare glass are from Pinball Decals, but the undercab light kit is from Rock914 here on Pinside. The glass is on in the iPhone game play vid.

Quoted from Chitownpinball:

Is there a way to dim those under cab kits? They are cool, but kind of distracting for people playing other machines in a line up.

I have 4 pins in a row with undercab light kits, 2 of them from Rock and I have not noticed any issues when others are playing games at the same time in a totally dark room. None of my friends have said they were distracting either.

Pinball Center will restock the T2 plastics every 6 months or so. I had to wait that long for the one I replaced. I kept checking their webpage on a regular basis to make sure I did not miss out. Hopefully someone here bought that set and will send you the one you need.

Quoted from scampcamp:

Thanks LITZ..... I need a ship.
Also.... If there are inserts that are raised... can someone tap them back down? Or is it more of a complicated fix?

I am not sure how nice the H/K ship is that Pinball Center sells. I bought mine from Marco over a year ago and it looks pretty nice. The image that Pinball Center has looks almost like they took a Sharpie and drew on it if you enlarge the picture. If you need the hanger, Marco has those too.

Now put the PF so it stands straight up against the backbox and pull the entire thing up and out of the cabinet. Rock is saying you have plenty of extra wire to set it on the floor on the side of the game. These don't pull out like the rails on a WPC 95.

Quoted from Rock914:

Interesting. I was going for a uniform glow but maybe it can be achieved using sockets and leds. Looks nice.

Use EL Panel from http://glowhut.com/ if they have the right size for this application (instruction cards).

Size A6 was used on the T2 coin door and back panel (I'll be back).

I used the EL panel w/ inverter from Pinball Center on TZ for the transparent instruction cards and on T2 for the various cutouts (coin door/ back board). Pinball Dreams uses very large El panel for the T2 apron.

Pinball Center sells the right size EL panel for the instruction cards and in various colors besides white. I used Glow Hut based on another Pinsiders recommendation when trying to locate a local supplier here in the US instead of Germany when my friend was restoring T2 last year.

http://www.pinballcenter.eu/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=transparent+cards&x=0&y=0&search_in_description=1

*Make sure that when you connect the inverter that you DO NOT reverse the polarity by accident. It will fry the inverter.

Sorry if I caused any confusion!
