So is it too late to join this group of pinheads who obviously appreciate a great machine? It was the first one I ever worked on and it will always be in my collection!

On a note of interest, I had an intermittent problem with the cannon misfiring, but only rarely. It turned out the spring was slightly bent and not allowing the plunger to fully reset. Hope that helps someone out there!

Quoted from Chitownpinball:

Hey guys, question.
I was playing this weekend and got to a point where I had done the jackpot, and the super, but then was back to 1 ball play. When I went to go for the skull again, at some point, the GI lighting went off and the inserts were the only thing lit. They stayed off until I lost my ball and then reset for the next player. It looked really neat, but I couldnt help but feel worried I had blown something before the ball drained. Is this a common feature?

I've played a lot of games that far out and I've never seen that happen. I've had some weird stuff go on in a protracted game or when I get 2 balls in the Head at once, but not that.

Really sweet - makes me wish I hadn't started modding mine already!

Quoted from Enaud:

Thought I'd share this with everyone. Last night I had a killer game going on (for me) and all of a sudden the dmd started showing garbage. In test mode I was getting the dreaded RAM Address Error.
This morning I was about to move the displays / display driver cards to another machine to verify what was busted, but first I reseated the ribbon cables. Guess what! It's back in operation. So, reseating the ribbon cables fixed it.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I had the same problem! It happened several times and I ended up replacing all the ribbon cables and that solved the problem.

Has anyone done any customization to the Hunter/Killer ship besides the LED plate underneath? I am specifically talking about any paint jobs, such as the teeth on the skull which IMHO really kicks ass?

#1950 10 years ago

BTW, lascanones machine really kicks ass..........sweet work!

They look great - think I'll order a set!

Quoted from calico1997:

I am now in production of pop bumper LED rings that illuminate both center and outer ring of the pop bumper cap, as well as the underside of the cap. The LED ring comes complete with a new colored cap of your choice and uses a 555 wedge socket. For my T2, I use blue caps and you can can see the difference between the LED ring vs. an ordinary light bulb! The intensity of the light is adjustable. Compatible with T2 or any Williams, Stern, Data East, or Sega pop bumper that uses the standard body (03-7443-5) and a #555 lamp.
I am supply these via Pinball Life.

Looks great! Nice job Rock!

Quoted from Chitownpinball:

Routed, beat up, about $1200-1500
Nice, players machine, about $1500-$1800
Personal collectio, fixed up nice, minimal wear, few mods, shopped, about $2000-$2500
HUO or MINTY, about $3000-3500 and beyond.
But thats just my observation.
I wouldnt take less than $2500 for mine either, and id venture to say mine is nicer then Ted's...lol, sorry dude.

I think this is a great overview of the market for this machine. No number for me to sell, need to stay in club!

#2043 10 years ago

The only way that could happen is if the ball is hitting it from the back. A new target is easy - actually replace all 3 while you're at it and make sure the back "corner" is protected by the black rubber post. You can even replace the black rubber post cover with a different color and slightly bigger one to protect the back of the target.

And yea, that machine has seen some playtime!

#2049 10 years ago

I stand corrected!

Taking off the plastic receiver for the top of the playfield glass gives you better access to the top of the playfield too.

Don't you think that spotlight will get busted up pretty quickly? I like it, but.......

That's freaking gorgeous! Congrats on a spectacular job!

I was going to add a post about an issue with the gun becoming partially magnetized and not firing all the time but think I will wait and digest the beautiful work you did here. Are you selling this or keeping it?

#2279 9 years ago

Schwaggs, can you post a link to "Vid's guide"? Thanks in advance!

Quoted from dbloom:

If anyone is interested I am documenting my tear down of my T2 that I got a few weeks ago. It's written for myself so I remember how it goes back together, but there might be some useful tidbits and pictures others find useful.

Cleaning the inserts pays off big time. My machine was routed and I did the same thing with amazing results!
