T2 is my first pin, and will hopefully never leave. So how can I be in the club?

My gun was a mess when i got the pin. I unbolted it, and sent it to a guy in tennessee. Within a few days he sent me one back that is beautiful. He also does other pinball rechroming and plating. Pm me for info.

Also, has anyone found a way to get reds back in cabinet (better than the sharpie method?)

I want to say around $100 bucks for the gun chroming, done about a year and a half ago.

I don't believe I have ever posted on the T2 Club forum. But I do own one (my first pin). And to appease the T2 god of Arnold, I will make a nice contribution to this fine club that I hope will accept as my terms of membership.

As many of you know, there is a bug in the code which continues to play the "Bang Bang" sound even when attract mode sounds are set to OFF. It is annoying. So I brought it up on RGP a long time ago. There was a user that created a patch which modifies the ROM code to eliminate it. I sent the modified ROM code to a guy on ebay, and he burned me a new rom with the modified code. My T2 now boots up with ROM v8.1 (he even modified the version number), and the BOOM BOOM is gone. It has been working like a champ for several years.

If you are interested, pm me your email address and I will send you the patch which modifies the ROM code.

loscanones - Your paint work is fantastic.

My office is off my game room- I can't be on calls with clients with attract sounds booming in the background.

I believe that if the game has an option to turn the attract sounds OFF, it should actually do that- T2 has a bug which doesn't turn the attract sounds fully off, even when selected. This modified ROM allows users that would like a working option to turn attract sounds off. Personal preference, but the option now exists.

The service bulletin is to put foam in the back of the skull to keep ball from jumping and getting stuck in there. When the ball gets stuck UNDER the skull (on top of the drop target), the drop target needs to be adjusted a bit (perhaps
lowered)

To all of you T2 Experts-

I have the unfortunate issue of the ball getting stuck under the skull. When the drop target drops, the ball gets stuck on the backside of the target (ie the groove behind the drop target). I have tried raising the target using the screw, but that does not help. There is some wear in the area , but I believe if I LOWER the drop target to be a bit below the surface of the playfield it will be OK. Unfortunately it is as low as it goes (the screw backed out all the way). Has anyone ever experienced this with T2, and can recommend a fix?

Loscanones- beautiful work! The gun looks great. We have a guy here in the states that does this. He did my T2, and just did my Fish Tales in chrome

Since I didn't like the original Fish Tales button, I followed a thread here on Pinside and improvised with a Stern tournament button.

Thanks- I though about formal wood patching, but that requires removing the skull (and associated plastics, etc) and is a pain. I will try the mylar approach (assuming I can do it without removing the skull). Otherwise it will be adding some washers to lower the entire bracket/assembly. I'll report back once I get it done.

loscanones-

Great that you got your Pincab protectors off with no damage. After reading this thread, I checked my Addams Family that I spent months restoring- an those Pincabs didn't do anything but create some nice wrinkles in my decals. And unfortunately. once the damage is done, you need to keep them on there.

I am unsure why they call them "Protectors," because they do not.

My center red target used to always want to "bend"- it was more of a "lean"

Upon closer inspection, the targets are held together with rivets (One holds the face, and two brass rivets hold the body together). In my case, one of the body rivets was broken. Instead of buying a new target, I re-riveted it. Hasn't moved since. I have had other pins where cranking the rivets down tightens the targets back up, eliminating the lean.

One of the white targets on my T2 actually broke- it snapped at the bend where the 2 screws hold it to the playfield. For that target I had to purchase a new one.

Those cards are awesome! But... (A little off topic)... What is up with all the cards that people create with all of the game specs and credits all over them? Perhaps this is interesting to the hardcore pin heads, but I would think not to the average family/friend player. Personally, I prefer the cards to be simple- one that has the high level rules, and one that says "Free Play"... With artwork matching the theme of the game.

I have found some instruction/free play cards at www.pinballrebel.com/game/pins/pins.htm

Personally, I have these on my T2:

Quoted from Breaking_Dad:

Question: Attract mode still playing even if I have it turned off... I have had bbeeegrhhh bbeeegrhhh every 30 mins or so for the last 2 years. My wife hates it... I like it, it tells me my arcade is still on. But,... I need to figure out why it wont turn off even with attract mode turned off?

This used to drive me nuts as well, but it can be turned off.
