Learn to adjust it so it works, yet doesn't trap the ball.

Bend that wire past the switch body, not over it so you effect the arm pushing the knob into the switch body.

I'd turn the game off when removing the glass until you have learned more, so lessen the chance of mistakes.

#4 is the common wire, run around that color wire for a break.
