I am now in production of pop bumper LED rings that illuminate both center and outer ring of the pop bumper cap, as well as the underside of the cap. The LED ring comes complete with a new colored cap of your choice and uses a 555 wedge socket. For my T2, I use blue caps and you can can see the difference between the LED ring vs. an ordinary light bulb! The intensity of the light is adjustable. Compatible with T2 or any Williams, Stern, Data East, or Sega pop bumper that uses the standard body (03-7443-5) and a #555 lamp.
I am supplying these via Pinball Life.

you better get a patent!
I would combine that with the Nordman's Sparkly Pop Bumper Enhancement Thingy

Here they are being used in my T2... It would hide the 555 wire and cover up the white inside of the pop body.

Cool looking. But, the price is a bit crazy. Plus the $80 to ship. I'll pass. Thanks for the heads up though!

Quoted from spfxted:I agree....but it says Make Offer and many times these go for a lot less...
Oh. I didn't notice that. Might be worth a shot then..

Quoted from spfxted:It's a kit. It has a protector on the bottom and interactive LED's. Looks great and protects the fragile H/K Ship.
Where did you ordered that kit? Cost? Thxs!

Here is the other:

Quoted from Chitownpinball:i have pinbits....for the price, i would go with them.
I went with them as well. At the time, I thought they were the only ones. I don't know the difference between the two, or which is better. Maybe someone here can chime in....
I guess the judge's has a few extra lighting schemes and has more led's....mine's bright enough and does enough stuff for me. any brighter would be distracting.
Quoted from Chitownpinball:I guess the judge's has a few extra lighting schemes and has more led's....
I bought the Dredd one and I'm kind of underwhelmed. For the money I sort of wish I'd have gotten the Pinbits one. My main problem is that the lights are not really that noticeable and my game is still pretty dark. I'm afraid once I finish LEDing my game you won't be able to see the lights at all. My HK ship has a little warp to it and is not totally flush with the protector / LED mount. I'm going to buy a new HK ship and see if closing the gap focuses more of the light downward.
The nice thing it seems about the Pinbits one is the colored plastic of the protector, which seems like it would make the lights easier to see from the front. That said, while I have tons of products from Pinbits and I like them a lot, almost everything I have of theirs looks better in their pictures than they do in my games.
My HK ship was totally done for when I bought my machine, so I had a new ship and protector/led plate from the start. I posted a video when I got it. This is sans my helicopter, t-1000, and chrome flippers. I need to update I guess.
Any one have this red start button and want to trade for a blue? I dont want the stock orange yellow, I already have one of those. Im just not sure i like the contrast of the blue start button with my red light up flipper buttons and red coin door slots....any takers?

UPDATE ON LED POP BUMPER CAPS:
The response to this new product has been amazing and "illuminating". We're glad to see so many Pinsiders eager to upgrade their machines with this fun and high-tech lighting product. Due to the very strong response, the stock of LED pop bumper caps (sold via Pinball Life Company) has been used up temporarily. But don't worry - we have a huge production run currently underway and these will be fully in stock with even more color choices starting around March 15th. Please check back with www.pinballlife.com at that time. Also I will update this forum thread and also post a little "how to install" youtube video as the new inventory arrives.
Regards,

Side rails, before and after.
Old double tape was a pain in the ass...difficult to remove.
Industrial type 3M VHB double tape was used for the new installation.
First, the tape was applied on the side rail and then the plastic was pulled out slowly, while pressing the metal against the cabinet.
No surprises, everything went smooth.
So you just pull those off, buff them up, and reapply new double sided tape? Man, if I knew it was that easy I would have done it already...next on my list.....

If youre NOT planning to replace the decals, removing can be a little bit tricky. Most probably the area will be damaged and some pieces of decal will be peeled off. Unless you gonna
use a very sharp and thin blade...and A LOT of time to cut the old tape.
Also, applying the new ones its easy once you know what you
re doing. I saw things going awfully wrong during the process, ruining the decals. But basically, yeah, it`s easy.
As a tip: both screws should be in position but not very tight. Once you apply the first few inches, the nearest screw will be fully tight and continue the job until you reach the other end.
I saw some Youtube video showing totally wrong method, but finally it`s up to the owner to decide what is best for his machine.

Mine is starting to come off on the right side. If I lean on the machine from that side, it makes a tape "pulling away" noise as I come off of it.

Nice job...
Looks like you have the screws mounted in opposite way, IF i`m not wrong (cannot see very well details in your picture) and according to manual.
However, in the first picture, the screws are definitely in wrong way (head fastener should be on the left side).
I installed mine according to manual, can somebody else confirm the position?
And what is wrong with those decals, the corners looks badly misaligned...is that an original?
Answers:
The screws are in correctly I guess, they are just black. The Torx is on the left side.
$85 total cost.
Yes the misaligned decals are factory (as crazy as it sounds). I got the T2 from a pretty reputable guy and I asked the same thing.
