Just noticed this on mine! What size bit did you use, do you remember?

I would use a forstner bit for a clean hole
This part was thrown in with some other extra parts when I purchased my game. I didn't see it anywhere on my game, so I thought it must belong to some other game.
I just came across the shop out guide on pinwiki, and now i see it goes in back of the skull.
Can anyone speak to it's purpose? Game seems to play perfectly fine without it.
Does anyone have detailed pictures of how to install it?
Thanks for any help.

If you read this entire thread, there are pics and discussions about this part. Leave it off, not needed at all
Now the BackPlex is nearly finished and the LED backlight is already working.
I only have to install the protective strip, but it must be modified and powder coated first.

This is really cool. Since this is the state of my T2 I will definitely do this mod to it.
Great work!

Latest chipset available for T2 seems to be L8, but I don’t see any history of the chip changes. Am I reading my game correctly that it could use an updates chip?? Seems like the sound chip is good but I’m putting in a pinsound board.

I am in doubt about the rubbers/posts on my game. I think mine might have been changed from stock at some point.
Should there be one or two large rubbers between the two posts?
Mine only had one - but I have a feeling there should be two?[quoted image]
Just tore mine down. Averell is right.
And consider the outer red lane guides.
The have flaps only on the inside... in that case you have a better illuminiation next to the plastics.
Often lane guides with two flaps will be used but that's not how the machine left the factory.

Thank you.
All mine had two flaps As you said. But changing that to stock as well
I guess it was duo to limited parts by the operator.

What are you doing with the old plastics? I am looking for just the clear ones.
Quoted from eyeamred2u:What are you doing with the old plastics? I am looking for just the clear ones.
I will try and sell it as a complete used plasticset.
Quoted from tezting:I will try and sell it as a complete used plasticset.
How much for the complete set?
I will also have a used set for anyone else interested in a few months. I bought one of peters new sets.
Quoted from pinballer247:How much for the complete set?
How much is it worth? 50$? or is that too much?
If someone is willing to make a template for the clear plastic around the left side of skull, I could make my own clear plastic.
Thanks

How do I change the coil on this mech?
I can’t figure it out and would like not to break anything.[quoted image]
There is a small roll pin on the black VUK, just use small pliers or a roll pin punch, and pull it out, then assembly breaks down easy, see my pic

I just finished cleaning my recently acquired T2, it came out nice but I have a couple of tweaks that still need to be worked out. First, my drop target fires 6 times when it goes up. I looked at the switch and its working but there is another small coil and not really sure what that does so maybe thats the problem, any advice though? Also, my cannon fires about as hard and fast as a real cannon, is there a way to adjust that?

The small coil is used when the game needs to pull the drop target down. The drop target has a small edge that holds it up and is spring loaded such that if either the ball hits the target or the small coil is triggered then the spring will pull the target down.
If the main coil is firing multiple times then the game isn't seeing the drop target in the up position - normally this a switch issue. The switch position probably needs adjusting. Go into test mode and check the status of the drop target switch, then in solenoid test drop the target and recheck the switch status. Then go back into solenoid test and raise the target and again check the switch status.
As for the cannon, check if it has the right coil as specified in the manual
As far as I can tell it does not say what size coil in the manual anywhere. Can anybody tell me the correct coil?

Just got down shopping out my newly acquired T2. This was my first go around at shopping out a pin. It was a good learning experience for me. I've been looking for one for a long time. I replaced all the plastic pedestals with new ones, added Titan bands throughout, replaced all bulbs to LED that were not. Added some chrome to the backboard edge, added a red DMD filter, replaced any broken plastic with new ones (not many) replaced all screws to new shinny ones. Cleaned and waxed the play field. Waiting on bright eye mod for the skull. I've attached some pictures below.
Thanks for looking,
Pete

Nice job! I recently just did my newly acquired game as well. The eye LEDs are a must I would say for this pin.
Now that your game is all clean, it’s Payback time!!
Has anyone installed this or similar?

I got a new repro playfield with nice clear coat. But the protector is “cheap” and I am thinking about if it is a good idea to add even more protection?
Or is it overkill and have some kind of negative effect on the game..

Waste of money if game has clear coat. Why risk a product that may yellow over time. No way.
Quoted from eyeamred2u:My resto mods so far.
Where did you get that terminator head? That is sweet. Much nicer than mine for sure. Very detailed.
Quoted from eyeamred2u:It is the Terminator Genisys skull with the Brite eyes mod, from Amazon
Cool thank you! I will have to check this one out.
Quoted from tezting:What happend to all the details on this repro sticker I bought? (Look at the shoulder etc. )
Anyone know a place in Europe where I can pay a better one?

Or are people doing something else when replacing the drop target?
I have a question about the cannon. When a ball enters it goes right about a quarter of an inch and then starts turning left so there is a little bit of a gap in there. The cannon doesn’t turn far enough to the left in order to hit the first target. Is there a way to adjust the cannon? Why does it go right first before it starts going left?
2 switches under PF...if you look at the common (under the PF) you will see a pole/stick coming off the cannon...you will see the 2 switches I’m talking about...it should be resting on one switch (home switch)...then it swings out and hits the other switch to tell it to stop and return home (mark switch I believe)...adjust these till you are dialed in.... ...........Joey
