Here is a pic of the backboard decal on mine. Sorry only one I had on phone may have to zoom in a bit I’ll try to get a better one

Quoted from Soulrider911:

I would say depending on the level of the restore 4K up. Mine I would probably never let go but if I did it I would be asking 5k.
Granted I went overboard and it has more chrome than most Hayley’s lol. thanks to sc93cobra at pinball playing. Best in the biz

I would probably be better off buying yours instead of rebuilding mine. You must have at least $5k in it? Did you do pinsound and color dmd? Thats nearly a grand right there?

#6553 5 years ago

TimberOne so it has flipper fidelity speakers (sounds amazing) but no pinsound... may put it in not sure yet. it also has a separate 12V power supply... so if one wanted they could go mod-crazy.

No color DMD, personally I don't feel it does much for T2... compare that to Indy that is chocked full of amazing animations... Indy is a must.

Yeah the Cannon VUK wireform is in the way , I zoomed in on the other pic and I got a good idea of what it looks like but if you don't mind I'd still like to see it kind of up close and personal

Quoted from Soulrider911:

For me, it'd be worth getting for the video mode alone (something I couldn't do on pin2DMD, making colorDMD the better choice) , but I get where you're coming from. The majority of the animations don't really lend themselves to colorization in a manner that matters. Its mostly like, closing doors and shit, but man, the video mode is a brazillion times better with it. The HK Explosion is pretty cool too.

#6555 5 years ago

T2 is a very early WPC DMD game and as such has very simple animations, and not a whole lot of them. Personally I use a DMD Extender (and RPi and used LCD from eBay) and I'm all in for about $200 with a beautiful LCD screen with different dot mode options. I have it set to just use 4 shades of red and it looks much better than a stock DMD, you can also go crazy and assign different colors to different DMD shades though. I have seen red/blue combinations that look decent.

#6556 5 years ago

Gotta agree. Havent wanted to spend the $400 on a color DMD for t2. Just not worth it. Maybe some day if I am crazy flush, but there are other things I could spend $400 for pinball.

Today I welded the last two brackets of the ball trough and next week they will be galvanized. The brackets were badly damaged and compressed in the area where the balls hit again and again. And my own service stickers are done too.

https://pinside.com/pinball/market/shops/1076-cztv-mods/01468-terminator-2-cztv-mod-with-video-and-sound-version-41

I gotta go off about this a little. Does this TV fit the theme at all in T2? I dont think so...maybe you guys do?

I like the idea, and its executed well in other machines, but in T2, I dont think this fits at all.

The only way I could see it working out is if you mounted it above once of the ramps in place of the cyberdyne triangles. Maybe have it show the cyberdyne logo until the switch is triggered, and then that triggers a movie clip.

I dunno, this old TV just looks really dumb. It fits games like TZ and CFTBL, and probably a few others, but T2 it does not.

Sorry, but I think it doesn't mod well in any game. And yes, I've seen it in all the hot games. I'm into modding alot but I would never have it in any of my games.

Dont be sorry, we all have opinions. I think it fits TZ the best, and probably should never have gone any where from there.

#6561 5 years ago

Chitownpinball I 100% agree its a pointless addition that IMO does nothing at all for the theme... my 2 cents

Does anyone have a excellent playfield for T2 for sale? I may do a full restore on my game.

I missed the HSA Restored Terminator 2 Playfield that Soulrider911 had for sale.

Thanks. PM me with what you have.

#6563 5 years ago

Call Peter at BUT Germany, I think they will release a new batch of playfields if they have enough advanced orders.

#6564 5 years ago

Yes pinball77 I would recommend Peter Buthamburg he is super to deal with. I have one of his T2 playfields on my
Machine, full transparency after I finished my restore after 5 game inserts ghosted BAD! But he made it right and from what I gather they have since resolved the issues.

They are top notch the clear is pretty amazing see below:

I can also confirm Peter is making great stuff and that he is doing a second run of playfields. So if you want your T2 to look amazing (playfield/decals/plastics) contact Peter ☺️

Thanks guys. Will be contacting Peter. What a great game that deserves a new playfield and to bring back a player machine to above new standards.

Looking for a T2 arcade game to go with it. There use to be a few a month listed in Canada and now that I want one I cant fine one.

I can’t say enough about peters cabinet decals if you need them buy his while you still can. You can buy them from Bay Area rick contracted him out to make them. They are dead on for colors so much so that I actually recently removed the decals I bought from another vendor become the colors weren’t right

#6568 5 years ago

My cab is retro refurb decals also they are super!! I have used them on 4 pins now

Hello, I picked up a T2, it already has the EL Wire mod. It seems dim to me but its probably fine, basically in a bright room you cannot even tell it is on, in the dark it looks pretty good. Does this sound about right?

Also, I have the Chrome Laser Canon Mod, the laser is dim, much dimmer than normal, you can barely tell it is on, any suggestions? I didn't check voltage to it but will as soon as I have time but the Canon itself works perfect and all the other game lighting is bright as expected.

Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks.

#6570 5 years ago

Can someone tell me if the T2 backbox has a 90 or 45 degree angle?
Related to my thread here:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/correct-backbox-edge-williams

If someone has a good image of there original box in good shape it would be great help!

#6571 5 years ago

Hope this helps... in my opinion its 45°.

Damn! Some say 90 some 45
Does someone have a really nice original T2 that can check?

#6573 5 years ago

Look at my picture and you see there's a rounded corner and it's original 45°.

For instance F-14 and Indy has 90°.

#6574 5 years ago

Its 45 on the lower and top side and 90 degree (with a very little tiny 45 degree chamfer) on the other sides

I'll check mine as soon as I get home and post pictures.

#6576 5 years ago

Mine is square on the top corners (well, actually very slightly rounded) and 45 on the bottom.

It is probable there were many manufacturers of these cabinets and possible there were variances between manufacturers.

#6577 5 years ago

Here are some pics although mine are more beat up than I thought.

Do any of you know of a good source for the drop target decal. The ones marco sell is more of a red rather than the neon

You might be right. But I did not know they did.

yeah I think so again mine has some chips so it's hard to tell but it seemed like a thin 45 degree angle on top and then 90 at the bottom.

#6581 5 years ago

Still working on the playfiled, again sanding and airbrushing - step by step.

Are there T2 / WPC schematics available in PDF format for download somewhere? Aside, of course, from the scanty ones at the end of the T2 manual.

I use the file from IPDB on the Getaway page: http://www.ipdb.org/search.pl?any=getaway&search=Search+Database&searchtype=quick#1000

#6585 5 years ago

Does anybody know if peter has announced the plastics yet

#6586 5 years ago

Thanks Schwaggs. I assume those are generic for all WPC titles and not specific to Getaway?

They are up to WPC-S. There may be some boards included in specific games that are not in that document (sometimes these are in the game manual) and the wiring for a specific game may be different but that document has schematics for the base WPC boards.

#6588 5 years ago

No plastics, no feedback - still waiting for the new run.

Managed to get a T2 recently and currently going through the restore stage. Can't wait to get the pinsound tuned up in this one!
Going with the black and white themed decals and made up a custom speaker panel for myself to match. Just got ramps and gun back from the chrome platers. I will post up some more pics when finished. Happy to be in the club!

Interesting, your cabinet has wpc leg plates… is it an original T2-Cab or custom?

#6594 5 years ago

Well spotted! That is actually another custom machine (black edition Funhouse) I am doing for myself at the moment. I just sat the speaker panel in there to see how it would look.
But regardless I fit these inner leg brackets to every machine I restore - they are a vast improvement on the original imo for cabinet and also leg bolt thread length/strength. I do alot of mods to strengthen the cabs on my machines - glue and screw slides inner and rear etc and also the base speaker mounts instead of the original finishing nail gun setup.

@Jakusu: Good idea, in my opinion T2 is something between System 11 and WPC, cabinet is almost the same to System 11 instead of siderails and the wooden plate where the transformator is bolt on and the legs of course. WPC leg plates are a good improvement for more stability.
