I'm assuming that the bolts were installed inside of the back box to secure the head. You can't fold the head if those bolts are installed.
Regardless, you can remove the security bolts and lock with a pair of pliers if the security allen wrench isn't available.
Quoted from Soulrider911:Not intending to continue this, but just for clarity the back of a t2 just has a latch holding backbox on, unlatch boom, fold down.
Exactly! That's how ALL my B/W machines are!

T2 has both a latch AND bolts inside the head.
I'll be getting my custom T2 metal apron autographed by Steve Ritchie this weekend
at Free Play Florida in Orlando. Come on out to Free Play Florida if you're free this weekend in Orlando!

Most WPC era games have the wing nut looking bolts in addition to the latch. Most people don't use the bolts or even know they are supposed to be installed.
I use the bolts. I know about the latch, but like the added security of the bolts. I guess I just better not lose the key. Having said that, are the keys different for different machines or would all T2s use the same key? I can understand why the coin door would have different keys as that's where the money is, but what about the backbox keys?
Quoted from AlexSMendes:Thanks brother! Your input is very important so we try to get things as close to original as possible!
How much for a complete set of plastics and when are they available?

All B/W system 11 games and up, come with, and are supposed to have 2 hex or wingbolts securing the head.
Quoted from Soulrider911:schwaggs that makes sense none of my Williams games ever had them
Remove your speaker panel and locate the 2 empty holes where your bolts are supposed to be.
Its a whole new experience to play pinball without the head flexing back and forth when you're nudging! I'm sure it'll be even more exciting surprise when the 1/4" screws on the latch work themselves loose, unlatches itself from rocking or breaks, and your backbox comes slamming down onto the PF glass!!
All 10 of my games have the bolts in them... Very cheap peace-of-mind, and they came with the game for a reason!!
Any 3/8-16 x 2" bolts with matching fender-washers will do, but the OEM wingbolts look like this... (WPC-S games also require oversize fender washers)
Hello,
now I join the third Club - today I bought my Terminator 2 Pinball Machine in meanwhile rare original condition with a good diamond plate playfield.
Tomorrow I will check all functions and later next week I will disassemble the Pinball Machine complete.
I want to restore the Terminator from the scratch.
Actually I'm not sure if I restore Standard or custom made Chrome Edition.
Of course this Pin will be equipped with Color-DMD (LCD), PinSound-Board, Shaker, Hunter Killership, etc.
regards
Averell
Congratulations on the pick-up Averell. Post some pics of the finished product!

I am wanting to install an led light strip on the back of my pin. I need a place to hook up 5 volt DC. Any suggestions for a place on the machine to accomplish this?

Define "back of my pin".
Quoted from jgadzia:back of the playfield area in the pin, where the graphics are, i want to light those up
It depends on exactly where you want to attach it, if its attached to any part of the PF assembly, in other words, it will move with the PF when lifting it, simply tie into the nearest GI socket under the PF, piece of cake. If it will be attached to something that is part of the cabinet, you'll have to wire into the backbox and tie into the GI lighting circuit there.
jgadzia not saying this is the only answer, but I installed a happy switching power supply in my T2, so I can power any 5v and 12v mods. I re wired my service outlet to turn on the additional power supply with the main power.

Actually I'm testing the PinSound-Board.
In INDY I use a selfmade Shaker fired on the extension port A via 12 Volt relay supported by PinSound-Board (5 Volt).
For the T2 I plan the same and I want to switch on and off LED Lightstripes (12 Volt) via extension port B supported by PinSound-Board (5 Volt).
Unfortunately INDY is out of order and a wait for spare, but I keep you informed if it works or not.
The advance is, once you wired the LED in the cabinet or elsewhere you can turn on and off via PinSound-Board on each soundeffect you like.
Of course the Shaker is the same and already works very well.

My compliments! I love to see high-quality custom work like this... It's a damn rare thing in this hobby of way too many hacks.

can you explain how you wired your service outlet?
Blitzburgh99 I ordered them from pinball center in Germany, I just tried to find them and looks like maybe they are out or not making them Anymore. I have seen others too that read T 8 0 0

Not intending to continue, but here is your own picture with another red box added because I love irony.

That’s pretty funny!!
My game is a reimport. Does the ‘I’ on the serial number have any significance (such as International)? Other than the MPU, all of the numbers match.
I am currently waiting for a new MPU board to see how it really plays. I keep contemplating if I should fully restore it or just make it a players game and call it good. Playfield and decals available. Plastics are not? I have a mint NOS Translite. So the only thing would be if plastics were available, then I might lean heavier towards full resto...thoughts from the T2 crowd on what to do with this one?
Quoted from Monk:What do you have to do to switch it from 220V to 110V?
Not sure. It’s already switched over. Maybe others can give explanation in what happens to switch it back?
I am not an electrician, but isn't the plug for a 220 different from a 110? If so, the plug at the end of the cord that goes into the outlet may be the info you need. One of my games was a re-import and had already been converted to 110. I can check later to see if there are any other indicators within the cabinet that I can point you towards but again, perhaps the plug for the outlet may be all the information you need.
There is more than the plug, you also need to change the wire positions for the transformer connector, fuse and MOV. Maybe something else I'm forgetting.
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:Plastics are not
Plastics can be found. The ones I've purchased recently have been from overseas. Mr. Pinball in Australia and Ministry of Pinball in Europe. If you still can't find what you need drop a PM to pinsider AlexSMendes he might be able to help in the near future.

Complete sets?

Agreed. I was just thinking if the plug had been changed perhaps everything had been changed/converted, but better safe than sorry. Was the game plugged in and running when you bought it?
Yes. Works perfect....other than the battery acid causing the MPU to act funny. New one shipped today.

Quoted from AlexSMendes:The backbox of my T2 doesn't even have the holes for these bolts...
Was the bottom panel replaced? If you fold the head down can you see where the bolt go into the bottom cabinet? These are standard. The latch is only to hold the head while you setup and get the bolts in place.
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:Complete sets?
I have not purchased a complete set but I do know that AlexSMendes may be able to help you soon. He's in Brazil but EXCELLENT to work with.

Thanks bro!
Two weeks ago Repro Refurbs announced to produce the complete plastics for Terminator 2 until end of November.
Actually no more response to any questions... unforunately depending due to licence problems?
