Posted this over in the stuck-ball thread, but since it was applicable here ... my wife managed to do this a few nights ago ... ball got airborne, landed atop the left habitrail, then Ahnold grabbed it and gave it a smooch!

Does anyone know a part number for the connector on the skull wiring harness. I can find the number for the harness but not the connector.

Thanks in advance!

Made a few instruction cards. I know there are some really nice ones on www.pinballcards.com but just in case you are looking for something else...

I decided to go with a dot look on the images to pay homage to the "first" DMD game. Hope you all like them.

Wondering if anyone knows how to shut off that annoying sound in attract mode?

Quoted from Vans:

Wondering if anyone knows how to shut off that annoying sound in attract mode?

Someone made a custom ROM to remove that sound from attract mode. This is the only way to do it. I have the file if you need it otherwise I can burn you one if I have a spare eprom in my stash.

Hello everyone! I just picked up this T2 last weekend, was a nice 17 hours drive. The playfield is in very good condition. However it was not running, it's blowing 2 fuses... trying to figure out the issue. I was looking for a T2 for a long time, I also have the T2 gun game and around 30 arcade games.

There hasn't been much talk about the T2 color DMD? Have any if you bought one?

Which style do you prefer? LED or LCD ?

Is it worth the $400 ?

LED
YES

#5426 6 years ago

This is quoted from ColorDMD themselves:

"Pros/Cons:

LED: 128x32 discrete RGB LEDs. Small form factor. Brighter and more vivid colors. Fixed smaller size dots - can't take advantage of smoothing or other rendering modes. Susceptible to ghosting artifacts due to undesirable capacitive effects.

LCD: 1920x1080 backlit LCD screen (only a portion of the screen is used). Original proven design sold since early 2012. Pixels are used to draw dots. Six rendering modes (DOTS, DOTXL, TILE, 8BIT, SCAN, and HIRES). Large dots and smoothing modes minimize black space making text easier to read. Smoothing modes are popular for cartoon-like animation."

The LCD offers a couple different modes, but personally I don't like the smooth textures and other modes, I prefer just the straight up dots. The LED offers brighter colors and darker blacks so I prefer the LED. Plus it's a bit cheaper.

Working on getting hunter killer right. Has a nice blue glowing coning from the top and bottom of engines, with 2 white searchlights coming from the front.

I posted a couple. Don't remember where, but here's the links again:

I bought the LED one because it felt more true to the game. I saw LCD on a Metallica (set without dots) and I just didn't like the look. I absolutely LOVE the ColorDMD with T2 though! Definitely worth the money. The only issue is that I spent so much time admiring the screen for the first few days that I couldn't get any good scores. I'd take my eye off the game to admire the color and BAM, lost the ball.

I know pinbits had the engine glow in red, but in all of the movie clips and models I could find, the engine glow is blue. I wanted to have lights facing up as well and down. I have blue LED shining down from the engines, and a blue glow on the top.

You can just see from the front corner, we have the spotlights in the front.

Using the existing wire mount from the game.

I am thinking about trying to put tail lights on the hunter killer, which you can see in the movies, but may not have the space. I will know in a few days.

Thanks.

It is good looking, but the one with the tail lights in it is about 10 inches long. The size that myself and rx3 are working on are nearly the exact size as the games original (separate projects).

Ironically, that link is also done by rx3. Obviously rx3 is a Terminator 2 lover, and does some very nice work.

Hi guys,
my hunter shipped is seriously messed up on this new T2 I just bought. The rear is missing.

Did the 109 pages of reading and the best source appeared to be from Starship Fantasy for those. However they are back order for 5 months. Is there any other place I can get an accurate replica of it? I want to buy the pinbits under light mod and I assume it fits only on the original model.

Found this one on ebay, did anyone ever ordered from them? ebay.com link: Decor Terminator 2 Hunter Killership Navette avec support

Cinemachines Aerial Hunter-Killer ship is finished. All leds and wiring are in. Will make the electrical connections tomorrow and post some video within the week.

After working on the Cinemachines ship for hours, I picked up and looked at the original ship and I could not believe how cheap it is. I had never really noticed or paid attention, I guess.

#5442 6 years ago

This is what I used to mount it. 1/8" metal rod. I bent it into the shape of the original mount with some minor adjustments to make it fit perfect. I felt the original mount was too thin and wouldn't hold properly. The 1/8" metal rod is super solid. In fact, it was not fun bending it into shape.

#5443 6 years ago

All electrical connections finished. Headlights flash when you hit any flashing ship target. Orange glow from ship's burners when the cannon is searching. LEDS added to the wing tips are on all the time. Whole ship was re-painted using Spaz Stix chrome paint. I did not at all like the original dull paint used by CineMachines.

#5444 6 years ago

Really well done! Gives me more motivation to work on mine again soon!

Did you take any pics while wiring up the different LEDs and which lamps you patched into? The wing tips really look fantastic!

#5445 6 years ago

Well, nothing fancy... no lights, no paint-job, hot-glued into the original wireform... Let's see how it holds-up!

I don't have pictures, but I dremeled a channel under the wings for the wires to the wing tips. I used surface mount leds (very very small). I filled in the channels with Tamiya modeling putty. Lots of sanding and re-filling until it was smooth. Look up on YouTube model building putty and you'll see how it's done.

As far as what I patched into, I patched into the cannon flashers for the amber colored LEDS in the burners, patched into the target flashers for the headlights and I have a wall transformer plugged into the service outlet for the wing tip leds. I rewired the service outlet to turn off with the machine.

Fair warning, the wing tip leds were a real pain in the ass

#5449 6 years ago

PeterG haha u and I think alike, next game without a doubt would be CFBL, to me that game I could play all day!

Also here is the restoration topic I started for those interested. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/t2-restoration

#5450 6 years ago

Can anyone tell me what parts of the game are controlled by these areas I've circled that have hacks from the operator I bought the game from? Everything plays great. Curious what they control and if I should bother with having a service tech get it fixed.
