Quoted from PoMC:Not a fan of a spinning disc mech because I just don't find them fun and would rather a more interesting toy was used. But in the case of TMNT, it's only there because it can be a spinning pizza, just like the first game. .
I agree.
Quoted from aeonblack:It's true. It's listed in the feature matrix.
Gracious...that is the most Stern-thing for Stern to do....spinning direction as a 'feature'
Quoted from koops:On the apron master splinter saying "press button to eat pizza".

Yeah, that should be standard going forward IMO.

Tonight someone should ask Jack Danger to shine a blacklight over the PF to see if there's any $400 add-on kits coming.
Quoted from Yoko2una:Bar targets SUCK. There's a huge difference between picking off a target the size of a pinball and hitting a "general area". Ask ACDC.
or even better : oktoberfest !
Newbie here; saw a comment talking about something related to "add-ons" that were released for Stranger Things after the fact that players felt should've been included in the game(s) from the beginning, and thereby wondering if that will be the same situation with this new title. Can someone summarize what happened there?

UV reactive art baked in to the playfield. $300 add on UV lights to be able to see it.
Quoted from epthegeek:UV reactive art baked in to the playfield. $300 add on UV lights to be able to see it.
Ahh, I see. Thank you! Yeah, that is super shitty :/
Quoted from CrazyLevi:Do you ever get tired of saying this? About 100 times a year you type some variation of this complaint.
It might be time for you to recalibrate what you think you should expect for $6-9k. Clearly you are the one with the disconnect here.
Why? I think licensing assets can make or break a game....u may not agree, but thats just your opinion...everyone is entitled to disagree with u
Can someone please share where the heck is the foot spinning target? It is on the Matrix, I'm not even sure what it is.
Just listened to the Stern Insider podcast on the game, lots of passion for Turtles within Stern. As for people upset about the theme song, as per the podcast it is what Nickelodeon provides to people who license TMNT so probably not a lot of options for Stern there.
I like the RGB gi led illumination on the Features matrix, hopefully the game has some great light shows to take advantage of it.
Looking forward to the stream.
Has anyone heard anything from their distributors about expected lead times given Stern is not at full capacity? I've heard two different estimates, Premiums at end of June and then premiums end of July... I'm inclined to believe the latter.
Quoted from RetroGamerJP:Has anyone heard anything from their distributors about expected lead times given Stern is not at full capacity? I've heard two different estimates, Premiums at end of June and then premiums end of July... I'm inclined to believe the latter.
Pro = June
LE = July
Premium = August
29 years after the first pinball release, and 6 since years since I left being an active pinside member to go work for Stern, we finally have a new TMNT machine. Since 2014 this has been a focus of mine.
I flipped the game in September of 2019, and I had goosebumps. On the premium there are 4 levels of ball travel, like judge dredd. And the sound package is unbelievable. Y’all are going to love it.
TMNT is my personal passion, some of you will remember I actually hired Vanilla Ice himself to perform at my 30th birthday party in front of 1500 people.
This game was done right. If you loved the original animated series or playmates toys, or just great FUN pinball, you’ll love this machine. Make sure to tune into the live gameplay reveal tonight, and make up your own decision.
I bought a Limited Edition for myself. No way on earth I was not going to be one of the 500 people in that elite collectors club.
Keep flippin’ pinside. Im always around.

The art is rather interesting in all cases though. The front cab of the LE isn't awesome, but the van on the side is legit. The backglass on the premium has a strange curved? sai for some reason too but the front is better for sure.
I put $ down on an LE but damn I wish it were a la carte...
Quoted from pin2d:Can someone please share where the heck is the foot spinning target? It is on the Matrix, I'm not even sure what it is.
Right orbit spinner?
Quoted from baba_hafez:Has anyone ordered and gone through abt? https://www.abt.com/resources/pages/search.php?keywords=pinball? I'm in Chicago and they say they ship locally, but I've never bought from them before. I like they give some financing options making a NIB more feasible...
I've seen games setup in their showroom before.
I bought some kitchen appliances, delivery was free and white glove.
ABT is the best.
Quoted from chuckwurt:Right orbit spinner?
That is my best guess too, but what is the "Foot" part?
Quoted from pin2d:Can someone please share where the heck is the foot spinning target? It is on the Matrix, I'm not even sure what it is.
Stern calls spinners "spinning targets." I assume it means the one in the right orbit.
Quoted from pin2d:That is my best guess too, but what is the "Foot" part?
Foot Clan are the bad guys.
Quoted from yancy:Foot Clan are the bad guys.
OOOOOooooohhhhhhh that makes more sense. Gotta brush up on my TMNT knowledge.
Quoted from pin2d:Can someone please share where the heck is the foot spinning target? It is on the Matrix, I'm not even sure what it is.
Likely the spinner. They called it the Stranger Things spinner with a demodog sticker a demodog spinning target, so probably the same thing.
Quoted from Aurich:I don't love the mono targets, but I was talking about them with a friend last night, and he very reasonably pointed out they're not really in a position to be big on skillful aiming anyways.
I think this is more of a case of not liking the principle of the thing than really seeing that much of a detraction from real gameplay.
I'd rather they were smaller, like the FUEL target in Metallica Prem/LE. I honestly have never once on my LE thought to myself "damn, I wish there were two separate targets on this like the Pro". Makes no difference to me. But when it's so wide I think it's easy to see how it could have been a real bank of targets.
Well I can’t imagine a TWD with this target
I don't mind mono-bar targets if they are to qualify another kill shot. Just by itself, hitting a mono-bar [x] times is meh, but hitting a mono-bar [x] times to qualify a hurry-up ramp shot to complete the sequence, then it makes more sense for that target to be big. Don't mind it in that case.
Quoted from PtownPin:without reading this entire thread do we know the designer and whose on code?
John Borg & Dwight Sullivan.
I can see the need for someone to create a dress up kit for the glider. Seems like a lot of raw, generic plastic. A set of decals that has some additional details (seems, bolts, slight weathering) would be nice upgrade.
Quoted from beelzeboob:So before you downvote, I think all the coders at Stern have their pluses and minuses. But for all of you disappointed that Dwight is doing the code, don't be.
I'm not disappointed; I'm glad they stuck Dwight on a game/theme I don't care about. Haven't liked his last 4 games and not holding much hope for this one, but you never know.
Quoted from Jared:This game was done right. If you loved the original animated series or playmates toys, or just great FUN pinball, you’ll love this machine.
You're a good salesman, Jared
Too bad the original cartoon series isn't currently streaming on Netflix/Hulu/Amazon. Time to dust off my DVD player.
Thanks for the podcast update. That pretty much confirms the same redone garbage for the theme song used in 1up arcade is the one used here (paging Rarehero - if you hated that one, you'll need to hate this one).
I'm fine with that but don't be dicks and block pinbrowser from replacing that garbage. Also - Stern....don't say you're using the ORIGINAL theme and then give us this redone nonsense. False advertising.
Otherwise, the rest of the sounds/music seem good from what I can tell - but that's a big bummer with the BS theme.
I'm curious what this 4 levels of travel are on Premium vs the pro. The diverter does nothing for me but if for some reason there are more MBs or the premium has more ramps, that would be something but not from what I can tell.
Def not the homerun I was hoping for but they checked enough of the critical boxes for me to go in on a pro. Really excited to see it tonight. Hopefully both are shown.
Sounds like Dwight got a co-op mode in, a select a turtle to start, and ability to level up your character, and then 8 modes and 3 wizard modes, so it sounds like a lot packed in.
pumped and ordered a Pro today.

they had seasons for sale on the itunes tv section recently.

Yes - well summarized. Seems great on paper and the ability to select a turtle should be getting more attention.
For those complaining about the mono targets. Stranger things has drop targets that add so little to the game. Like it's laughable how much more is in ninja turtles than the last 2 games. I'll take mono targets and whats in ninja turtles versus drop targets and whats not in stranger things any day of the week.

Thank you for your kind response. Been enjoying the thread and hope you enjoy whichever you go with (Pro, Prem) immensely.
Oversized mono targets--stroke of cost-cutting genius! I had to go check my Tron just to make sure the mono-savings didn't go back that far.

In the early days they considered the "fuel bar" on Metallica LE an upgrade over the individual stand-ups on the Pro. Now we've come full circle.

Why? This cool code feature has nothing to do with mono targets.

I agree TMNT looks great and full featured especially the Pro, much better than Stranger Things. That has nothing to do with mono targets being lame.
The real purpose of diverter is to ensure one of two inlane switches is hit. Switch on left inlane starts 1-2-3 mode and the one on right inlane collects a weapon. So depending on which of those you want, use the diverter to make it happen. On the pro model, you have to shoot the right ramp to get a right inlane switch and repeat left for left inlane switch.
Think I can live with the lack of this diverter on the pro version, just fine. TMNT pro may be the way to go for me, and aiming for Spring 2021 timeframe. Should give me plenty of time to save money.
