Quoted from flynnibus:It's because the ball is literally being dropped off the ramp... and has no space/path to settle it along the guide rail. It's an artifact of the design not to drop the ball before the orbit turn - which would have served to guide the ball to the rail. Even if the ball dropped off limp.. you'd still get randomness.
It really makes the upper flipper shot a lot harder...
I had the same problem with the ball coming off the ramp and not making it smoothly to the upper flipper until I made some ramp adjustments. Much much better now and goes to the flipper every time. That plastic ramp that exits in the left orbit is attached to two post mounts, one near the exit and the other over on the right hand side of the playfield. Loosen each attachment area and make sure the ramp is shifted as far left as it can go and lock them back down. If this still doesn't work and you still get random ball travel off that ramp to the upper flipper then simply apply some light pressure to the two mounting posts to 'bend' them ever so slightly to the left. This is what did the trick for me. All good now.
Anyone have a good resource for rules overview or tutorial? I'm having a hard time focusing on figuring it out on my own. Videos preferred as I find written rules lack some nuance and descriptive insights.
Quoted from Wallofnoise:Haha same. Between TMNT and my Ghostbusters I’m always frustrated. I’m curious what are some recent pins that aren’t as difficult? Jurassic Park? Stranger Things?
Try Elvira HoH. Super approachable but difficult to master!
